The all-British clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has been a topic of discussion for the longest time. Previously, a potential fight came close to reality but fell apart rather quickly. In the recent past, even a fight between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk seemed beyond grasp. But promoter Frank Warren recently announced the brawl in Saudi Arabia in December or January, to the delight of boxing fans everywhere. So, the boxing world wondered if a clash between Fury and Joshua could also materialize. John Fury recently spoke about the same in an interview.

‘AJ’ last got into the ring in August against Robert Helenius, winning the fight via knockout. Despite a win in his last showdown, Joshua has faced considerable challenges in the recent past. He suffered his first career loss against Andy Ruiz and followed that by losing twice to Fury’s future opponent Oleksandr Usyk. So, a fight against Fury can be a redemption arc for ‘AJ.’ However, is a fight with Fury even possible? During an appearance in an interview with Daily Mail Sport Boxing, John Fury detailed the only way a fight between the two boxers could happen.

John Fury claimed he doesn’t like Deontay Wilder

When asked if an AJ vs. Fury fight could ever happen? John explicitly stated, “The only way that can happen – he is gotta beat Deontay Wilder.” He further emphasized that every boxer is sidestepping a fight with the ‘Bronze Bomber.’ John claimed, “I don’t like Deontay Wilder. I can’t stand him as a man.” Daddy Fury highlighted that every boxer in the heavyweight division is scared of Deontay Wilder.
