A heavyweight who has fought and lost to Tyson Fury no fewer than three times has wished the WBC champion’s future opponent ‘good luck.’
The challenge faced by Oleksandr Usyk when he finally gets into the ring with The Gypsy King sure is a big one. Fury is yet to lose in his 33-fight professional career and even in moments of huge adversity such as when he got a terrible cut against Otto Wallin, and was knocked down heavily by the Deontay Wilder toward the end of their first fight, Fury has always managed to rally.
He stands 6″9 tall with a reach of 216cm, has famously good feet, quick hands, and has even added knockout power to his game since going up with the Kronk gym’s Detroit coach Sugar Hill.
One man who knows how hard it is to lay hands on Fury is British contender Derek Chisora. The pair have fought three times – firstly in 2011 when Fury won a unanimous points decision, then twice more, both of which ended in knockout losses for ‘Del Boy‘.
Speaking to The Schmo, he was asked what advice he might have for Usyk given his ring experiences with Fury.
Usyk – who was recently dubbed the heavyweight Lomachenko – is no slouch as a former undisputed cruiserweight king turned unbeaten heavyweight who has beaten Chisora, twice beaten Anthony Joshua and recently saw off the challenge of Daniel Dubois to retain his WBA, WBO and IBF world title belts.
The fight with Fury will be the first undisputed fight at heavyweight in 24 years and is one the world eagerly awaits.
