Why Tyson Fury dismisses Anthony Joshua fight talk

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, has told Anthony Joshua he is not in line for a shot at the ‘Gypsy King’, and that he should ‘get to the back of the queue’.

For years the pair have flirted with the idea of meeting in the ring, with talks breaking down in 2022 despite financial terms being agreed, taking one of the most eagerly anticipated boxing match-ups away from the fans.

At one point, it looked as though there could be an undisputed heavyweight title fight for the first time since the 1990s, with the all-British affair being likely to be one of the biggest fights in British history.

That’s a far cry from the present attitude after Joshua‘s unconvincing wins following his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, with Fury not even entertaining the idea of fighting someone he considers a ‘bum’.

“He’s just a big bum dosser who’s been knocked out and had three losses,” Fury said to ‘Daily Mail Sport Boxing’. “You can’t even compare him to me anymore, it’s not even a fight, I don’t even look forward to fighting him, it’s not a fight anymore.

“I’m not interested. The bubble has been burst. Its not so much interesting for me to beat AJ anymore. He’s already been beat, he’s been spanked by Usyk twice and knocked out by a fat man [Ruiz Jr.] so it’s not of my interest to beat him.”

He added: “Get to the back of the queue. The fight is off the cards, it’s gone, dead. The fight was off the cards when he got beat.”
