Devin Haney climbed to the super welterweight division to become the champion in his debut fight. With a marvelous performance against Regis Prograis, he has captured the attention of his contemporaries now. Ryan Garcia just established his dominance against Oscar Duarte and for his next challenge, he seems to be interested in Haney. Gervonta Davis‘s name is also making the rounds with Haney’s team calling him out in the post-match conference of the Prograis fight.

Zab Judah, the former light welterweight champion has some advice for the ones wanting to  go up against Haney. In an interview with FightHub TV, Judah adds his two cents to the discussion. Let us find out.

Zab Judah on Devin Haney’s future plans

Judah was nothing short of impressed by Haney’s display on December 9 at 140 pounds. This will unveil a new chapter in the boxing scene. “After tonight’s performance with Devin Haney, the way he came to 140 pounds and dominated tonight, I don’t know man, I see number 32 in the books,” said Davis. However, according to the former boxer, the idea of a matchup with ‘Tank’ Davis remains a bit unrealistic at the moment.

Tank has been campaigning at 135 pounds, and Devin’s move up to 140 may not immediately attract opponents. Despite Davis’ dominance at 135, it’s uncertain if fighters will be eager to face Devin in the ring right now. “I don’t think guys would be running, knocked down the door to fight Devin right now and the ones that do fight Devin, whoever steps in the ring, we’re going to show dominance 100%”. Those who do step up will need to bring their A-game to establish dominance.

Gervonta Davis unwilling to take on Haney?

Haney expressed frustration over ‘Tank’ Davis’s reluctance to face him in the ring. Devin believes that if Davis truly wanted the fight, he would promote it positively instead of trying to undermine its significance. According to Devin, Davis diminishes the potential bout’s value by downplaying its importance and questioning Devin’s selling power.

Bill Haney, Devin’s father and trainer, urged fans not to buy into the alleged lies from Davis and his team. Bill criticized Tank’s team for consistently providing misinformation. In essence, Devin and his team are calling for transparency and a genuine desire from Davis to make the highly anticipated fight happen.

As the names line up, only time will tell who Haney meets inside the ring next. Who do you think Haney will face next? Who do you think would be the right opponent for him?
