WATCH: Floyd Mayweather Mobbed by Pro-Palestine Protestors

There is a reason some countries stay neutral during turmoil and war! Something Floyd Mayweather is learning the hard way. In a recent pinch, pro-Palestine protestors decided to mob one of Mayweather’s events in Las Vegas, Nevada! However, the question is, why did they target the retired boxer?

In October last year, the former five-division champion sent his Air Mayweather, flown by his pilots, to Tel Aviv with 5000 lbs of supplies to the civilians and the military. He did this to provide relief after the terrorist group Hamas had launched a surprise attack on Israel. Since then, Mayweather has shown unparalleled support for the country! So, during a recent event, the protestors decided to use him to bring attention to the suffering of Palestinians.

Floyd Mayweather ‘Champion of Israel’ surrounded by protestors

Today, a user on X going by the handle Hot Boxing Minute shared the clip of the incident, showing hundreds of protestors in the event, chanting “Free Palestine.” The user captioned the clip with “Oh snap…Money May got mobbed by the Pro-Palestine protestors.” Also, it’s worth mentioning that Floyd was also involved in a pro-Israel rally in Los Angeles.

And if that wasn’t enough, the former champion, including Emmanuelle Chriqui and Montana Tucker, raised over $4 million for Israel. So, recognizing his efforts in Israel, he was awarded the “Champion of Israel” award at Faena Forum in South Florida in December last year. However, his stance on the ongoing conflict in Israel wasn’t supported by everyone.

Palestinian Former Boxing Champ criticizes Mayweather

On October 10, Floyd Mayweather used social media to make his stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict public. In an Instagram post, the millionaire boxer wrote, “I stand with Israel against the Hamas terrorists. Hamas [does] not represent the people of Palestine but [is] a terrorist group that [is] attacking innocent lives!”

The comments from Mayweather did not sit well with Billy Dib, who responded to the post on X. He wrote, “When Muhammad Ali returned to his creator, the world mourned him…We all loved him and will continue to remember him…Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, is doing anything to try and stay relevant & in the limelight.” What’s more, Dib has previously criticized the policies Israel had imposed on the people of Palestine and has always been critical of their actions in the region.

While Floyd Mayweather might not have meant any ill will for the people in Palestine, his actions were not perceived well by the protestors targeting Mayweather’s event. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think Mayweather deserved it?
