The highly anticipated showdown between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia throws a curveball, swapping the glitz of Las Vegas for the electrifying atmosphere of Brooklyn. Originally slated for Sin City, the April 20th fight will now take place at the Barclays Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets. Las Vegas, with its reputation for mega-fights and hefty ticket prices, seemed like a natural choice. However, Golden Boy Promotions, representing Garcia, opted for Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

This 19,000-seat arena offers a unique East Coast energy and potentially a different dynamic for the fight. Nobody knows why they went ahead with this certain choice, but Gervonta Davis believes that it happened because of him.

Interestingly, Davis did not deny this claim. In a now-deleted post, he stated it to be the reason for the Haney-Garcia venue shift, explaining that it was because he was going to fight in Las Vegas on that night. So, he retweeted the post of the fan and hinted that the venue of his next fight could be in Sin City, Las Vegas.

Davis wrote, “You kno why they fighting in ny.

It still can’t be stated clearly whether this was just a way for Davis to take a jab at his two rivals, or was he serious. Well, he could be, since ESPN’s reporter Mike Coppinger has revealed Tank’s next opponent.

Davis might be taking on Frank Martin next

Gervonta Davis is finally ready to rumble again! After a year away from the ring, Mike Coppinger reported that the undefeated lightweight champion is close to finalizing a summer bout against Frank Martin. This highly anticipated clash promises fireworks, marking Davis’ return to the spotlight and a potential test against a tough challenger.

Davis’ last fight in 2023 was a showstopper, a dazzling performance that saw him stop Ryan Garcia in one of last year’s biggest fights. Since then, boxing fans have eagerly awaited his return, speculating his next opponent. Now, it seems the wait is almost over.

It will be interesting to see the WBA titlist finally step foot inside the ring after a long hiatus. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section.
