Terence Crawford argued to crack Canelo Alvarez with cleaner shots than ‘GGG’ did
Ahead of Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo, Shakur Stevenson
declared Terence Crawford would beat the Mexican boxer. Now, before Canelo returns to Las Vegas in May, Stevenson reiterated that Crawford would put Alvarez in a fix. According to Shakur, Crawford has the required skill set to face Alvarez in the ring. “As of right now, I think ‘Bud’ will beat Canelo. He’s not gonna quit. You’re not in the gym. You have to see him then,” said Stevenson on Punsh Dunk Boxing.
“The people he spars. Everybody that Bud Crawford spars is the same size as Canelo,” added Shakur Stevenson. Along these lines, Shakur mentioned that Terence Crawford would occasionally enter the ring with him too. “But, that’s strictly to keep his skills, hand speed, and IQ level,” added Shakur. And even though Canelo was heavier, Shakur argued that Crawford’s accuracy and power were better than Alvarez’s.
“I’m watching and what he can do in the ring in sparring is not going to change come fight night. And you can have all the chins in the world, I don’t give a f**k. But, if you get punched by the right motherf***er, you gon’ feel that s**t,” stated the 26-year-old who wants to be called ‘Killer Kur’. At this, as Gennady Golovkin’s name was mentioned, Shakur proceeded to argue that Bud would crack Canelo with “cleaner shots” than GGG did. “This gon’ come down to skill and IQ,” he concluded.
