Is Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk in Jeopardy Again? Gypsy King Reports Another Cut Above Right Eye in the Recent Post

Earlier today, Tyson Fury shared a picture of himself, showing two cuts above his right eye—one over and the other below the brow. From his very appearance, it might appear that he has received a fresh injury. As fans might remember, back in February, a sparring injury resulted in the postponement of the February 17 clash with Oleksandr Usyk. Old images suggest the previous cut occurred below the eyebrow. So is the one on top, and fairly longer, a fresh one? Nonetheless, the photo stands a good chance of sparking off fresh fears over the future of the fight on May 18.

Along with the picture, Fury’s caption had a cryptic message. He said that he isn’t a novice when it comes to dealing with cuts. Some of the fans who commented don’t seem enthused either. Fury last fought a tough ten-rounder against Francis Ngannou last October. Usyk, on the other hand, comes off a unification title defense against Daniel Dubois. The two are set to meet at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Only two days ago, he had shared a fresh update from the training camp. Walking alongside his trainer, Kristian Backlock, Tyson Fury could be heard checking for a rundown on his training. “Talking about cuts, I’m no stranger to um!” said the WBC heavyweight champion. The photograph shows him staring at the camera. Both cuts appear fresh. With dried blood splattered on his face, and him seen gritting his teeth.

But then a few followers seemed doubtful whether it was a fresh picture. One user wished that it shouldn’t be a recent one: “I really hope this isn’t recent.” They received quite a few replies, with most voicing out that it was from the Otto Wallin fight.

‘The Gypsy King’ fought a non-title bout against the Swedish heavyweight on September 14, 2019. He won the match unanimously. However, the clash is famous for the injuries he suffered.

Tyson Fury and The Scar(y) Story

In the third round, Wallin’s left hook opened a gash over Fury’s right eye. Later, in the fifth round, a head clash between the two caused a cut over the right eyelid. After the ringside physician’s review, the Mancunian was allowed to continue. But then a few other users didn’t hesitate to sound off the alarm bell. “Lets ready for after-fight excuse,” said one.

By the looks of it and from the messages, it appears that Tyson Fury has shared an old image from the Otto Walling fight. However, from several other comments, it is evident that it has caused concern among quite a few fans. The undisputed face-off emerged after overcoming numerous challenges. Therefore, it’s a fight fans are unlikely to dismiss so easily.
