‘Tank Does Not Want to Fight [Devin Haney]’: Bill Haney Brands Abdul Wahid “Felonious St”

Bill Haney has always had a sharp tongue! But his trash-talking skills lead him to more and more controversies. In a few days, Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia will face each other in the ring to prove once and for all who the better boxer is. However, amid all the excitement, a question about Gervonta Davis prompted Bill Haney to launch an onslaught on the ‘face of boxing.’

A potential fight between ‘The Dream’ and ‘Tank’ has long been hailed as the ultimate clash of the titans. While there’s no sign of the fight actually happening, that hasn’t stopped either party from attacking each other on social media, especially after Garcia leaked the sparring footage between the duo. However, when Haney Sr. was asked about the potential fight recently in an interview, Bill claimed ‘Tank’ doesn’t want to fight while commenting on Davis’ stint with the law.

Bill Haney suggests Davis is nothing more than an attraction for people

Speaking to Fight Hype yesterday in Manhattan, New York, Bill Haney boldly said, “Man, ‘Tank’  [doesn’t] want to fight. ‘Tank’ [Davis doesn’t] represent really fighting and really getting to it, man—you know what I’m saying.” Turning to the Baltimore native’s popularity in the business, Bill Haney suggested he is an attraction for people, and not the best fighter.

“He’s not even close—his resume doesn’t resemble being the best fighter in the world,” said Bill. As to why Davis is so popular with the people, Haney had an interesting theory to prove his bold statement. “I didn’t say [Devin] was the biggest attraction because what people might be attracted to might be a whole lot of felonious s**t that’s going on.”

It’s worth mentioning that Davis has, on several occasions, found himself in the crosshairs of the authorities. While in some cases, the charges were dropped, in others, he actually had to spend jail time. Here’s a timeline of Gervonta Davis’ arrest history!

Gervonta Davis: From abuse to hit-and-run

The Baltimore native has had several run-ins with the law. And everything began back in 2019 when Davis found himself in an altercation with an individual at a mall in McLean, Virginia, that took place on February 17. Following the incident, Davis allegedly got into an argument with a cop and shoved him. He was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault, but the charges were later dropped.

The next incident happened in February 2020, when Davis was charged with simple battery domestic violence. Davis was held on $1,500 bail. However, even this charge was later dropped as the victim withdrew the complaint.

The next major event happened in November 2020 when Davis ran a red light in his 2020 Lamborghini Urus SUV and struck a 2004 Toyota Solara, injuring four people, including a pregnant woman. He was put under house arrest for the incident, but after he decided to break the rules of the house arrest, the judge handling the case handed him a 44-day jail sentence in Baltimore. This case has also been the major reason why Davis hasn’t been able to fight.

With that said, Bill Haney doesn’t seem to have any respect for what Gervonta Davis has managed to accomplish in the sport, as he branded him an attraction because of his rap sheet. What are your thoughts on Bill’s statement? Do you think Davis is a mere attraction?
