“He’ll Break Crawford in Half” but “Can’t Scare Benavidez or Bivol”: Canelo Alvarez’s Recent Training Clip Draws Mixed Responses

Who does not want to fight Canelo Alvarez? After defeating Errol Spence Jr. last year, Terence Crawford wished to face Alvarez at a catchweight to lay his hands on the latter’s undisputed Super-Middleweight title. Meanwhile, David Benavidez has long been desiring to face the Mexican phenom in the ring. On the other hand, Dmitry Bivol agreed to rematch Canelo should the fight take place at 168 lbs.

However, as per the latest updates, Canelo Alvarez is moving on with a different opponent on May 4th this year. In this connection, the undisputed Super-Middleweight champion resumed his training. And after Michael Benson shared Alvarez’s latest training clip, fans immediately reacted to it.

Canelo Alvarez throws destructive hooks on water bag

Yesterday, Mike Coppinger of ESPN reported that Canelo Alvarez and PBC were discussing a potential Jaime Munguia fight for May 4th. On that note, today, Michael Benson took to X and shared a brief clip of Alvarez practicing his hooks on a water bag. As expected, Canelo’s punches were powerful and fast. In addition, Canelo moved well on the floor. Following this post by Benson, fans could not help but link David Benavidez, Dmitry Bivol, and Terence Crawford’s names to Alvarez.

In their response, a fan argued Canelo won’t either “scare Bivol or Benavidez with this performance“.

Hopefully, Canelo Alvarez will soon confirm the opponent he returning against in May this year in Las Vegas. But, what is your reaction to the latest training clip of Canelo Alvarez?
