Andy Ruiz Jr Makes Bold Statement On Canelo-Crawford: “He Should Stay Away From Him”

Former unified heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz Jr has weighed in with his prediction for a potential mega fight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Despite the fact there are a whopping three weight classes between the two undisputed champions, talk of a meeting has gained traction over recent weeks and months, with both men stating they would be up for the task.

However, in a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Ruiz implored Crawford to “stay away from Canelo.”

Though it would undoubtedly be one of the biggest fights of this generation, talk of Alvarez vs Crawford has cooled significantly following the Mexican’s dominant showing against former undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo – a significantly bigger man than Crawford.

Terence Bud Crawford

‘Bud’ has more pressing issues at hand anyway, with a rematch with Errol Spence Jr in the offing for February after Spence triggered a contractual rematch clause, though it is unclear what weight this will take place at.

Most fans want to see Alvarez in with WBC Interim champion David Benavidez next, with Benavidez having long been considered his biggest threat at 168lbs.

However, ‘The Mexican Monster’ must get past two weight world champion Demetrius Andrade next month if is to have a hope of landing a career high payday against the Guadalajara icon.
