Terence Crawford’s Trainer Sends Weight Warning To Errol Spence Ahead Of Rematch

Trainer of Terence Crawford, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, has no concerns over the weight that a rematch takes place between his man and Errol Spence Jr after a dominant display back in July.

Crawford battered Spence from pillar to post from the opening round, getting the stoppage in the ninth round to cement his position as the undisputed welterweight champion and – in the eyes of most – greatest pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.

Since then, Spence has activated his rematch clause and indicated that he would relish the chance to stage the second bout at super-welterweight, after being tight at the 147lbs limit.

However, Crawford has stated that nothing formal has been requested and if that is the case, as per the contract, the second fight goes at welterweight again

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, McIntyre, who was released from a Manchester prison last week, warned Spence’s side that the weight would make no difference to the outcome.

Recent reports suggest that the rematch will indeed go ahead with plans for the duo to run it back in February, although the weight for the scrap is yet to be agreed.

Given the manner of victory the first time, fans will be hard pressed to find an analyst or fighter on the planet that predicts a Spence win this time around.
