This year has been a roller coaster ride for the gymnastics queen Simone Biles and her NFL husband, Jonathan Owens. In her latest Instagram story, Biles shared an exciting update. She posted a picture giving an update on the dream house the couple is constructing in Houston, Texas. She shared an image of the framework, nearly complete, with stacks of black tiles piled side by side. With excitement, Biles wrote, “Tiles are in!” She then took her followers inside their home, revealing the massive glass window panes and the internal wooden framework almost fully finished, and she wrote alongside her story, “Frames for sliding doors are also in.”
In another story, she showed the view from her window of a lake flowing just beyond the yard, with beautiful wild trees and bushes growing alongside the bank and the area looking serene and untouched, and Biles wrote, “This is my favorite view,” with a heart eyes emoji and a sunset emoji. The couple first revealed their plan to build this dream home when they were still engaged.
The construction journey over the months
Back in March, Biles shared the happy news on Instagram. A picture of Owens and herself on the piece of land, which was then merely a plain site with mud tracks, was accompanied by her caption, “A home is made with love & dreams… Cheers to breaking ground.” Since then, Biles has consistently provided updates on the construction of their dream home. She shared samples of tiles, taking her fans behind the scenes during the plot-clearing process, and documented the transformation of the land from muddy bushes and wild trees to a beautiful canvas for their future dream house.
Videos of the couple exploring their property hand in hand, capturing the moment the foundation was laid, and the progress of constructing an entire house with an upstairs area followed too. Biles shared the experience of walking upstairs for the first time, listing the rooms, “bedroom, game room/wet bar, theatre, bathroom,” and revisited the enchanting lake view from upstairs, noting, “This view will never get old, especially when the sun sets.”
