“I Don’t Like Him Turning Like That”: Terence Crawford Responds to Ryan Garcia Calling Out Shakur Stevenson Following Oscar Duarte Ko Win

Ryan Garcia has finally managed to make a successful return after his loss earlier this year. He fought against Oscar Duarte in a riveting bout at the Toyota Center, Houston last night and achieved a knockout victory over Duarte. Throughout the fight he appeared to be in good form, as he maneuvered around the ring, making it harder for Duarte to land any impactful shots on him.

Interestingly, after his victory, he called out Rollie Romero for a shot at his WBA belt. However, Romero is far from being the only target of ‘KingRy’. It appears that he also has his eyes on Shakur Stevenson, who recently won a fight against Edwin De Los Santos. Garcia criticized Stevenson’s performance along with his promoter Oscar De la Hoya. Here’s what two-division undisputed champion Terence Crawford has to say about the potential fight between Garcia and Stevenson.

Terence Crawford doesn’t believe Ryan Garcia will fight Stevenson

Terence Crawford, a seasoned voice in the boxing world, recently expressed skepticism about the likelihood of Ryan Garcia stepping into the ring with Shakur Stevenson. Despite acknowledging Garcia’s skills, Crawford remarked, “He is not gonna fight Shakur. Ryan, he’s a good kid, but I just don’t see him fighting Shakur.”

Reflecting on Garcia’s recent performance, Crawford commented on the adjustments made during the fight, praising his strategic shifts. “He made some key adjustments in the fight, from standing there in front of dude to moving, picking his shots,” Crawford noted.

While discussing Garcia’s defensive techniques, Crawford shared his reservations about certain moves. “I don’t like him turning like that, I didn’t like that,” Crawford remarked, emphasizing his discerning eye for the sport.

When questioned about a potential matchup between Garcia and Stevenson, Crawford firmly expressed his belief that Garcia wouldn’t entertain such a challenge at this point. “It’s Shakur vs. everybody in the division right now. I don’t think nobody really wanna see Shakur right now in his division,” Crawford asserted. Despite any criticisms directed at Stevenson, Crawford emphasized the reluctance of others to face him in the ring.

Rollie Romero accepts Garcia’s challenge

In the dynamic realm of boxing, Rollie Romero finds himself in the spotlight following a high-profile call-out from Garcia. In a recent interview with Elie Seckbach, Romero claimed, “Anything that involves my name always goes viral; that’s all I can say.”

Even though the rivalry between the two has ignited because of the call-out, Romero is still happy for Garcia. He stated, “I am happy Ryan won, I wanted him to win. ‘Cause I wish no harm on the dude, you know. But I’mma tell [it] like this – You say my name, you’re getting f**ed up.” This comment reflects Romero’s measured response to the call-out and his eagerness to engage in a battle within the ring.

He also claimed, “This fight was supposed to happen long-long ago. I have been calling him out for I don’t know how many years. It’s a massive fight for boxing.” With this, Romero sets the stage for a compelling confrontation between two skilled contenders.
