Gervonta Davis had some serious words for Devin Haney as the pair verbally agreed to make a fight happen.

Haney is riding high off a win over Regis Prograis in San Francisco, a stellar performance to make him two-weight world champion made all the most impressive given it was his first outing at super-lightweight.

Whilst he’s likely to try and unify the belts in this new division, he has also mentioned that he would entertain facing Gervonta Davis in what he reckons is ‘the biggest fight in the sport.’

‘Tank’, also undefeated and one of the biggest draws in boxing, sent a threat Haney’s way on social media today.

To that, Haney responded “let’s make it happen, I’m free.”

The match-up has gained some momentum following Haney’s win. He was asked about Davis in the post-fight press conference, accusing him of not looking to fight.

Davis then spoke out on social media when Haney’s fight night weight was revealed – 165lbs after meeting the super-lightweight limit of 140 the day prior – hinting at some banned practices.

The pair don’t currently occupy the same division, but ‘Tank’ has travelled up to super-lightweight once in the past and may be tempted.

His other option is to stick at 135 and pick up a full world title early next year given Haney is set to formally vacate his remaining three belts and the Baltimore native is already the WBA’s Regular Champion.
