The generational great that is Omaha’s Crawford took on Errol Spence Jr in one of boxing’s most anticipated fights. It pitted the two best and unbeaten welterweights of their era against one another, but Crawford proved to be levels above.

Now, Barry McGuigan has been writing about the fight options for two-time undisputed champion, but one thing is for sure, he doesn’t want to see the contracted Spence rematch.

‘Bud’ bossed the entire fight and eventually broke down his rival champion to the point that the fight was stopped in the ninth-round by technical knockout. The win gave him the undisputed title six years after he also held all four belts in the light welterweight division.

The rematch clause has been triggered by Spence but not yet officially announced. Writing in The Mirror, McGuigan thinks there is no point in that and that Crawford should move up again.

He then picked out a couple of potential opponents to test Crawford.

Whatever fight he takes next will not be in defense of the undisputed titles after he was stripped by the IBF in a move that irked the WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman.
