But there was trouble in paradise recently because of the backlash directed at the Green Bay Packers safety for claiming he wasn’t privy to his wife, the gymnastics legend, was when they first met.
But despite the criticism, he has remained steadfast and continued to stick to his truth in a recent interview with Vanity Fair as well. But despite doubling down on the claims, this did not stop the dimple-cheeked Owens from doting on his wife and proving haters wrong.

Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast ever, recently took to Instagram to share two iconic photographs of her Vanity Fair shoot. One post was the cover image of the esteemed publication, which featured her with long, straight black hair, exuding grace in a Rick Owens pastel pink bustier styled by Nicole Martine Chapoteau. The second post featured Biles looking fierce in a black silk dress by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, once again styled by Nicole Martine Chapoteau. Fans poured out their love and awe over the gorgeous images in the comments; however, what grabbed attention was the deluge of love and adulation that came from Jonathan Owens.
On the cover image, a completely smitten Jonathan Owens left nearly five fire emojis, expressing his admiration for his wife. In response to the image of Biles in the black silk dress, Owens wrote, “Wow 😍😍😍 You’re so beautiful baby!!!! ❤️” But the admiration from the NFL hunk did not end there. He even reposted the cover image to his own Instagram stories and added heart eyes, crying, and fire emojis, which clearly highlighted his overwhelming emotions upon seeing his wife slay. This gushing of love came, despite his claims twice about being unaware of his wife’s “GOAT” status.
Owens claims he was oblivious of wife’s stature
“I didn’t know who she was at the time,” revealed NFL hunk Jonathan Owens on the Pivot Podcast when asked about his first meeting with his now-wife Simone Biles on a dating app. A month later, Vanity Fair, intrigued by the piquant story, probed Owens again, to which he reiterated, “A lot of people don’t believe me when I say I had no clue.”
The reason for these claims by Number 34 of the Green Bay Packers was attributed to the fact that when Simone Biles was the hype at the 2016 Rio Olympics, he was fully immersed in a football training camp at his alma mater.
And though the couple faced backlash and criticism over their unconventional love story, the love has managed to surpass the hate as they continue to be each other’s pillars.
