Anthony Joshua returns to Wembley Stadium this September to face Daniel Dubois.

The Olympic Gold Medalist is looking to become a three-time champion against recently-elevated Dubois, and will enter the ring a strong favourite to do so.

Speaking to Prime Casino, British Hall of Famer Ricky Hatton first addressed the stories that Dubois put Joshua down in sparring – something the former champ denies but does concede to being ‘cracked by a good shot.’

As for a prediction, ‘Hitman’ Hatton backs the more-experienced Joshua to get the job done early.

Joshua and Dubois face off on September 21 in what will be Dubois’ first defence of his IBF World Title.

Anthony Joshua has had some fun in training where he’s sparred multiple youngsters in a hilarious session.

AJ is set to continue his preparations after announcing he will fight Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21 in his bid to become a three-time world heavyweight champion.

Joshua has been taking some time out to have some fun after a busy week at the launch press conference, where tensions rose with his opponent.

The 2012 Olympic gold medallist was tasked with sparring multiple youngsters in the boxing ring at the Finchley ABC gym, who were clearly up with the challenge of taking down the heavyweight giant.

He began by sparring one at a time, with both slightly tentative as Joshua looked to get his movement going.

But it wasn’t until the pair were released at the same time, where they really let their hands go with Joshua.

Joshua first fought off the ropes as both teenage fighters let their hands go to the boxer’s body and began giggling.

Later on, the pair took Joshua on one-on-one and landed some shots go as he jokingly cowered and held his guard up.

One of the challengers even landed a looping overhand right which tagged AJ, who jokingly shook his head.

As the 35-year-old came to the camera, it emerged that he had suffered a small nick which a drop of blood had been drawn from.

He shouted, ‘Who did it?,’ to which one owned up, where Joshua gave him a nod of respect.

It was a heartwarming moment for Joshua who has always been keen to help out in the local community.

But his focuses will now turn to business as he looks to cement his name in an elite club as a three-time champion.

The power-punching Briton has been in much-improved form under the stewardship of Ben Davison – beating Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou in dominant stoppages.

And former world champion George Groves believes it is a very exciting fight, but makes AJ the narrow favourite.

He said: “I’m excited about that fight. I think it’s a great fight. Both guys are in great form.

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has only recently moved out of his mother’s north London flat for a  new mansion.

The former Olympic champion, who has almost  £100m in the bank, has only recently moved out of his mother’s flat, who he has repeatedly praised for being ‘an amazing woman’.

The Arsenal-supporting fighter will face fellow Briton Daniel Dubois on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London.

He told Lauren Laverne on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that his mother, Yeta, is an amazing woman.

He said: ‘The cycle of life means that one day my mum won’t be here anymore, and it hurts to think that she’s done so well to raise someone like me: a hard-headed, hard-working son.

‘I know how tough it must have been for her. She was a single mum at a certain stage in her life. Now that I’m a dad, I really applaud the effort she put into raising me and my sister.’

He admitted that despite his wealth, he has only recently moved out from his mother’s flat.

He said: ‘I didn’t want to leave my mum alone. I wanted to make sure that her foundations were strong – the nest was strong – so that when I leave, mum’s good. For me, that’s freedom. Knowing no matter where I am in the world, mum’s happy and taken care of.’

Joshua is fighting Daniel Dubois on September 21 in Wembley Stadium for the IBF heavyweight belt.

The bout was arranged following the confirmation by current title holder Oleksandr Usyk that he will vacate the world title.

The Ukrainian became the first heavyweight to hold the IBF, WBO, WBA and WBC belts when he defeated Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia last month but was set to be stripped of the IBF title, with the body stipulating he must face its mandatory challenger Dubois in order to retain it.

That has opened the door for the two Brits to face off and Dubois – who beat Filip Hrgovic to become interim IBF champion earlier in June – said he will be looking to dethrone the two-time world champion Joshua.

‘That’s just where I’m aiming for, to be the best,’ he said. ‘To fight the best and beat the best. AJ has been the king for a long time.

‘We all know he’s been the king for a very long time. On the night, I need to become the king slayer. That’s my goal, that’s the mission I have.

‘I’m ready to let my fists do the talking. A hundred percent ready to go, train like a beast. So bring it on.

‘Definitely I’m learning more about myself, as a fighter, as a person. Coming out the darkness into the light, being the man of the future, improving all round as a fighter. Really up for this, ready to go.’

Joshua was beaten twice by Usyk in 2021 and 2022 – the Ukrainian knocked out Dubois last year – but is currently on a four-fight winning run, enjoying three stoppages in his last three outings.

It will be his fourth appearance at Wembley, though his opponent will be stepping out as a main event at the national stadium for the first time.

‘Congratulations to Daniel for winning his last fight (against Hrgovic), I went to watch it live,’ said Joshua.

‘It was a good fight between the two of them. I picked Dubois to win as well, I watch boxing closely and I picked him before.

‘He came through and we are here. I’ve been having Dubois on my mind for a while. He’ll be on my mind for the next 12 weeks until I’ve got my hand raised.’

Joshua, 34, was asked whether the age gap to the 26-year-old was on his mind ahead of the bout.

‘I feel fresh,’ he said. ‘I feel good. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke. That’s about it, that’s my only vice, socialising. I don’t get caught up in antics outside boxing. I use boxing to keep me on the straight and narrow.

‘Young fighters coming up, look after your bodies, look after your minds.’

Usyk had previously requested that he not be stripped of the IBF belt so that he might still hold the title when he meets Tyson Fury in December.

‘Anthony and Daniel, I know the IBF title is important to you. It is my present to you on 21 September,’ he said in a video posted on social media.

Daniel Dubois is confident of knocking out British-born Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua when they fight for the vacant IBF title in September.

Explosive boxer Daniel Dubois has sensationally claimed he will knock out British-born Nigeria former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua when the two collide for the vacant IBF title at Wembley Stadium in September.

The two titans are set to reignite a rivalry that first blossomed seven years ago when they sparred together in the build-up to the Olympics, representing Team GB.

But Dubois, 25, insists the tables have turned and he is now a vastly improved fighter ready to dethrone the former two-time unified champion Joshua.

“It’s a totally different scenario now – I’m not here to spar him, let’s talk about fighting – that’s all my mind’s set on,’ Dubois roared.

The blockbuster clash will see Joshua, 34, return to the scene of some of his greatest triumphs, with the Nigerian Brit having won multiple world titles at the iconic Wembley Stadium.

However, Dubois, who hails from London, is brimming with confidence and believes he has the power and skill to dethrone the reigning champion.

Joshua has been in scintillating form of late, producing a stunning four-fight winning streak that has reignited his championship dreams following back-to-back defeats to the formidable Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua, the Nigerian born British heavyweight boxer, is eager to face fellow Brit Tyson Fury and doesn’t want to wait any longer for the bout.

The rivalry between Joshua and Fury has been ongoing for years, with fans eagerly awaiting their clash in the ring. Despite several close calls, the fight has never materialized, but Joshua insists it needs to happen soon.

Joshua, 34, and Fury, 35, are both preparing for significant matches. Fury is set to fight Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch in December, while Joshua is gearing up for his IBF world title fight against Daniel Dubois on September 21.

Should both fighters win their respective bouts, the long-anticipated showdown between Joshua and Fury could finally be on the horizon.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Joshua expressed his impatience, stating, “It’s a fight that’s been brewing for a long time. I can’t wait until I’m 50 to fight Fury because I’d have had so many wars, I can’t sit around and wait, I’ve got to continue to fight”.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has also emphasized the importance of this potential matchup, saying, “In an ideal world, we have that fight next. The situation is a little bit out of our hands, but we would absolutely love to go into that fight”. For now, fans will have to wait and see if the paths of these two boxing titans will finally cross in the ring.

Anthony Joshua challenges Daniel Dubois for the IBF world heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on September 21, live on Sky Sports Box Office, after Oleksandr Usyk vacated belt; Usyk faces Tyson Fury in a December rematch of their May bout

Promoter Frank Warren has told Sky Sports the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois will face the winner of December’s rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua will face Dubois in an all-British heavyweight clash for the IBF world heavyweight title at Wembley on September 21, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Joshua has marched back up the heavyweight ranks after suffering two consecutive losses to Usyk, who went on to become the undisputed world champion with his stunning victory over Fury last month.

Dubois, who previously held a version of the WBA title, has also rebuilt successfully from a loss to Usyk.

“All roads will lead to unification again,” Warren, promoter for Dubois, told Sky Sports on Thursday.

“He’s [Usyk] getting a massive payday for the rematch that he was contracted for against Tyson. That’s what the position is. It’s pure business as far as he’s concerned.

“If it was about holding on to the belts, then he wouldn’t have relinquished. He’s in it for the money and obviously the rematch is a massive, massive fight, which everyone wants to see. It was such a closely fight last time, it’s a bigger fight now in December.

“Whatever happens, the winner of this fight on September 21 [Joshua vs Dubois], which will be Daniel [Dubois], will fight the winner of that fight, and the four belts will be back on the line again.”

Carl Froch has once again taken aim at Anthony Joshua after leaking their heated argument over WhatsApp this week.

The pair were once friends as they used train together under Rob McCracken when AJ was an amateur and a young pro, while Froch neared the end of his career.

Joshua even made his first Wembley Stadium appearance on the undercard of Froch’s final fight (the George Groves rematch) in 2014.

Now, AJ is set to headline at Wembley for the third time in his career and his more recent feud with Froch has once again become the topic of conversation.

In a video for his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel, Froch described an interview Joshua gave this week: “He was asked, ‘Carl Froch – one word answer.’ And what did he say? He called me a p***k.

“So I went straight back at him like I’d go back at anyone who called me that.”

Froch then proceeded to post screenshots of their WhatsApp exchange and a video AJ sent him.

Hypothesising as to why Joshua doesn’t like him, Froch said: “Maybe it’s because I’m quite critical, but it’s constructive criticism…

“It’s water off a duck’s back. To be honest I don’t care who I upset.

“There’s no personal animosity. I don’t wanna get personal with the back-and-forth beef.

“Anthony Joshua has come to me with – they’re like little threats, they’re small threats in there.

“And the demeanour in which he’s putting it across to me, I could feel threatened.

“But I don’t give a s***, I’m the Cobra, I’ll front anybody face-to-face.

“Not because I’m a big, hard man, four-time world champion, Hall of Famer and I can fight a little bit with a granite chin, none of that, just because I wanna be honest.

“AJ’s getting wound up and getting really upset. I don’t wanna really go down this path of exposing it, but I’ve got to.

“Because you’re calling me a p***k, you’ve got no real reason for it, other than the fact that I’ve been honest about your career.

“You need to get over it, and concentrate on the rest of your career and try to finish on a high.

“And hopefully one day I’ll see you at the Hall of Fame, but at the minute your attitude and personality is totally classless, and I’m a little bit in shock.

“And by the way there’s a lot more messages and voicemails.

“I thought you’d either been smoking or drinking because it gets bad, but I’m gonna hold it back and keep it.”

Anthony Joshua says he “can’t sit around and wait” for a British heavyweight super fight with Tyson Fury – ahead of a chance to return to world champion status. The 34-year-old will take on Daniel Dubois for the IBF belt at Wembley on September 21, live on TNT Sports Box Office, after undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk relinquished the title to fulfil a contractual obligation to face Fury again.

Anthony Joshua says he “can’t wait until I’m 50” to finally face Tyson Fury in an all-British super fight, which could potentially unite the world heavyweight division once again.
The 34-year-old has a chance to become a world champion again, when he faces mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois for the IBF belt on September 21 at Wembley Stadium, live on TNT Sports Box Office.
Oleksandr Usyk’s contractual obligation to face Fury in a rematch, having become the undisputed heavyweight champion, meant he had to give up the IBF title – but he still holds the WBC, WBO and WBA belts.
Victory for Joshua would return him to world champion status before Fury has a chance to do the same, with the rematch taking place in Saudi Arabia on December 21. But a win for both could set-up a long awaited contest next year.
“It’s a fight that’s been brewing for a long time,” Joshua told BBC Sport.
“I can’t wait until I’m 50 to fight Fury because I’d have had so many wars, I can’t sit around and wait, I’ve got to continue to fight.”
“Let’s just get the fight on while we’re fresh – how many wars do I have to have before I get to Fury? Let’s go.”
Joshua first needs to get past Dubois but he is in good form, having recorded victories in his last four fights following back-to-back defeats to Usyk.
In Dubois, he will be taking on a boxer he knows well, having trained with him in the past, but he denies his next opponent once got the better of him.
“I knew Daniel from the GB squad. I’d just turned professional but I stayed around the GB squad. I’d still train there, so we would spar. Good spars,” Joshua told Sky Sports.
“This whole conversation that you’re trying to get at, he just cracked me with a good shot. But I don’t know where this whole narrative that someone turned my lights off came from.
“There were a lot of people that were in the gym that day. And they’ve come out and said nothing happened.”
The bout will be the headline act after five other all-British fights, among which feature Josh Warrington’s world featherweight title defence against super featherweight champion Anthony Cacace.
The entire event will be broadcast live on TNT Sports Box Office on September 21.

Anthony Joshua threatened to throw a chair across the face of Daniel Dubois as the two heavyweights were restrained by security during a heated interview.

Dubois, 26, will defend the IBF world title against his fellow Briton at Wembley Stadium on 21 September.

Broadcaster Dazn released a short clip of the interview, recorded before Thursday’s news conference, on social media.

Two-time world champion Joshua, 34, said he was “ready to fight”, to which Dubois replied: “Let’s go. If he wants to swing, let’s go now.”

A visibly annoyed Joshua told Dubois not to disrespect him, adding: “I’ll throw this [expletive] chair across your face

Dubois has been a somewhat reserved character in the past, but the Londoner refused to back down.

“You don’t intimidate me, who do you think you are?”, he asked Joshua.

Both men stood up from their chairs.

Security intervened as Joshua called Dubois a “little boy” and promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren attempted to defuse the situation.

Queensberry’s Warren then asked the production team to cut the interview short.

Dubois has won his past two fights, stopping Jarrell Miller in December and Filip Hrgovic this month.

He was elevated to world champion status after undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk – who is set to contest a rematch with Tyson Fury in December – vacated the belt on Tuesday.

Joshua is on a four-fight winning streak and has three stoppages in his past three bouts.

The winner will put themselves in prime position to fight the winner of Usyk-Fury.

Eddie Hearn has insisted that if a deal can’t be reached between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, the two won’t fight – despite a scheduled presser next week

Eddie Hearn has warned that if negotiations fall through between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, the pair simply won’t fight. Despite a press conference being scheduled for June 26 in London, Matchroom chief Hearn has insisted that a deal between the two boxers still isn’t done.

Talking to iFL TV earlier this week, the 45-year-old promoter looked flustered as he admitted that the proposed fight between AJ and Dubois isn’t quite set in stone just yet. He said: “There’s nothing done yet. Honestly, genuinely.

“We’re in final negotiations for AJ’s fight – nothing is agreed yet. I’m telling you right now, the fight with Dubois is not done and if it don’t get done, we won’t fight.”

When asked if he’s talking to other fighters, Hearn noted that he’s got his “options open”, adding: “We’re focused on fighting Daniel Dubois for the world title at Wembley. But it is not all agreed, there’s still work to be done.

“But 100% myself, his excellency [Turki Alalshikh], George Warren – we’re all working together to make it happen. That’s the absolute focus, no-one’s trying to be clever and hopefully that all gets in order for the big press conference next week.”

A preliminary date for Joshua and Dubios to meet in the squared circle at Wembley Stadium has been set for September 21, with AJ taking to social media earlier this week to explain that talks are almost complete. He wrote on X: “Nearly finished my negotiations for my next fight! Feeling motivated.”

Joshua’s last bout came in March and saw him secure a knockout victory over MMA star-turned-pro boxer Francis Ngannou at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.

While there was speculation going into the bout as to how AJ would fare against his opponent – after ex-UFC heavyweight champ Ngannou went the distance with Tyson Fury in his boxing debut back in October 2023 – the 28-3 Watford scrapper would lay ‘The Predator’ out with a stiff right in the second round.

Dubois, meanwhile, is no stranger to sharing the ring with some of the best boxers of his generation. With a record of 21-2, Dynamite DDD has made light work of Filip Hrgović, Jarrell Miller and Kevin Lerena – only tasting defeat at the gloves of undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk and Joe Joyce in his career to date.
