Floyd Mayweather used to promote Gervonta Davis’ fights and right before his fight against Ryan GarciaGervonta stopped working with “Money’s” enterprise and during his training camp, continued his rift with Mayweather, accusing him of not letting him use his gym to train after he barred him.

About the issue Mayweather explained that “Tank” has been through a lot and that’s why many times that he posts stuff on social media he understands because he’s older and wiser, acknowledging he wasn’t always like this.

“I’m not worried when the press wants to say stuff to turns us against each other,” Floyd mentioned during his next exhibition fight presentation press conference.

Gervonta Davis

Then Mayweather explained why he has always believed in Gervonta Davis, ever since he was a young boxer with huge potential.

“I always tell him: ‘I took you in the beginning because I wanted to see you be great, I wanted to see you have huge PPV numbers, I wanted to see you win'”

“Money” then expressed that he’s gladly impressed with Gervonta Davis’ development.

“I’m proud of him. When he says struff on social media, for me he’s still a kid, and when I was his age a did the same thing. I didn’t have a Floyd Mayweather to support me or tell me what’s right or wrong,” Mayweather sentenced.

Terence Crawford has made it clear that he wants to make a three-weight jump to face Saul ‘Canelo’ Álvarez.

The welterweight champion from Omaha has proved fans should not doubt him, most recently with a dominant win over Errol Spence Jr to become undisputed.

That makes it three divisions ‘Bud’ has conquered, undisputed in two, and he has his eye on more before hanging up the gloves.

Despite having a contractual rematch with Spence up next, he’s not been shy in calling out Canelo, who holds all four world titles at 168.

Canelo is coming off the back of a successful defence against Jermall Charlo, and is yet to announce his next fight. If it was to be Crawford, former undisputed heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe believes the smaller man gets the win.

Terence Crawford

Asked about the match-up by Dr Beau Hightower, Bowe simple said ‘Bud’ when asked who he felt would come out on top.

No stranger to chasing greatness, ‘Big Daddy’ Bowe was a two-time heavyweight champion and one half of one of the most celebrated trilogies in the division against Evander Holyfield.

If Crawford can land the fight, he’ll enter the ring the underdog against a Mexican fighter who has already earned his place in the Hall of Fame.

Perhaps unfortunately for fans, Canelo has said the fight isn’t in his current plans – even despite Crawford’s continuous call outs.

Instead, he’s rumoured to be in talks with countryman Jaime Munguia for May and will be expected to face the winner of David Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade thereafter.

Crawford is set to announce the weight and date for the Spence rematch soon before making a decision on where he goes next.

Their first match ended in chaos, fueling anticipation for this one. Mayweather’s shades aren’t just fashion. They’re a bold statement from a man known for his extravagance. This is classic Mayweather opulent.

Mayweather’s diamond shades ignite social media

In a recent Instagram video, Floyd Mayweather showcased his latest extravagant purchase: 14 pairs of diamond-studded shades. Accompanying this display of luxury was a caption that read, “Traveling for 2 weeks so I brought 14 pair of shades to peep the haters. They always said karats are good for vision.” This post immediately caught the attention of fans and followers, sparking a range of reactions.

Firstly, one fan expressed disapproval, stating bluntly, “Waste of money.” This sentiment was echoed by another fan who offered a philosophical perspective, remarking, “Money don’t buy happiness.” However, not all reactions were negative. One fan showed admiration, commenting, “NiCE Collection, Floyd,” acknowledging Mayweather’s taste for luxury.

Adding to the mix, another person highlighted Mayweather’s boxing achievements: “they’ll stay hating, you did beat all their hero’s brother.” This comment reflects a recognition of Mayweather’s dominance in the ring, tying his luxurious lifestyle to his professional success. Finally, one fan gave a piece of advice with a combative undertone, “Don’t peep them block them or give them The jab with hook,” aligning with Mayweather’s fighter persona.

These reactions paint a vivid picture of the public’s diverse views on Mayweather’s extravagant lifestyle and his unapologetic flaunting of wealth.

Mayweather vs. Gotti III, The rematch of ‘Unfinished business’

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is gearing up for a high-profile rematch against John Gotti III, announced as “Unfinished Business” on his Instagram. This exhibition bout, set during the Super Bowl weekend, follows their previous encounter earlier this year, which ended abruptly in a brawl involving both fighters’ corners.

The 46-year-old Mayweather, unfazed by age, remains a formidable figure in the boxing world. Details such as the venue and exact date of this much-anticipated rematch are yet to be released. Mayweather’s continued presence in the ring, despite being past his prime, showcases his enduring influence and the excitement he still brings to the sport.

While some fans marvel at his luxurious lifestyle, others question his extravagance. Meanwhile, his return to the ring, even past his prime, keeps the boxing world captivated. What impact will Mayweather’s enduring legacy have on the future of boxing? What are your thoughts on this blend of sport and spectacle?

It’s been a blissful year for Claressa Shields. In June, she defended her undisputed championship from Maricela Cornejo by securing a unanimous decision victory. A few months later, big news came about her re-joining the Professional Fighters League (PFL) under a multi-year deal. Hence, it was time she did her bit for the community. The holiday season is on. So what better time to call upon the members to be their generous selves and contribute in whatever way they can?

The two-time Olympic gold medalist took to her Instagram handle a few hours ago. She announced that she would soon be holding the annual Claressa Shields giveaway. She would personally be hosting one of the biggest events in her hometown, Flint, Michigan. Hence, she exhorted everyone that a contribution of any kind is greatly appreciated. Then she further mentioned the amount her team had set as a goal to achieve.

A plea for kindness from all: Claressa Shields

Claressa Shield

Claressa Shields wrote, “Our annual Claressa Shields giveaway is coming up. I host one of the biggest in Flint, Michigan! Any donation is appreciated.” Additionally, with a request to “Donate,” it was mentioned that ‘Shields Community Outreach Corporation – Goal $1Last year, on December 23, at AT Fitness, 2189 Coldwater Road, in Michigan’s Mt. Morris Township, Shields held her second annual Christmas giveaway. Participating families from the Flint region received a variety of things during the event. Along with delving deep into her own finances, the middleweight champion sought help from quite a few Flint-based organizations. Then she also got in touch with the PFL and Salita Promotions, her promoters for boxing, to help her raise money for the event.0,000.

Claressa Shields has often shared her desire to bring more resources into the neighborhoods of her hometown. That way, families and children can receive help and support when they need it.

An ocean separates the bitter foes

As far as boxing is concerned, Shields has often stated that he wants to go back and have a rematch with archrival Savannah Marshall. In fact, fans even found her at the latter’s post-undisputed championship fight press conference. The middleweight champion called out the Englishwoman for a second fight in the United States. The first fight between the duo took place in London’s O2 Arena. However, Marshall seemed to differ and voiced St. James’ Park in Newcastle as an alternate. It led to a heated exchange between the two.

However, now both Shields and Marshall have joined the PFL rolls. Hence, there is a high possibility of them having a rematch in the octagon as well. Either way, fans are eagerly looking forward to the next edition of their grudge fight.

Claressa Shields has joined the Professional Fighters League once again this year. Do you think her tenure with the promotion will be as fruitful as her boxing stint?

Lately, Deontay Wilder publicly called out Anthony Joshua for a potential fight. In his opinion, if Joshua faced him, their match would enter the category of great and classic fights. In this context, addressing the fans and their dreams, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman presented the condition under which ‘AJ’ and Wilder could enter the ring.

And ahead of Joshua vs. Otto Wallin and Wilder vs. Joseph Parker set for December 23, Sulaiman rattled the boxing world with the prospect of a match that will pose a threat to the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury.

WBC President believes Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder “are on a collision course”

Although the fights are yet to take place, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman presumes Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder will defeat their respective opponents on December 23. As a result, he believes that a subsequent collision between Wilder and Joshua following the Riyadh event is inevitable. On that note, Sulaiman feels ‘AJ’ vs. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ shall bring forth the mandatory challenger for the WBC Heavyweight title currently possessed by Tyson Fury.
In that connection, Sulaiman branded the upcoming Riyadh event “a natural WBC elimination tournament.” He told Sky Sports, “You have Wilder, No 1, Joshua, you have Parker, you have Otto Wallin, all those are highly ranked in the WBC. After December 23 we’re going to see a different picture in the rankings.”

It looks like Wilder and Joshua are on a collision course. That could very well be a final elimination to determine a mandatory contender for the WBC title,” he added, looking forward to welcoming a new era of boxing.

At this, one cannot help but wonder whether or not the concept of a mandatory contender for the WBC Heavyweight title will affect the upcoming Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fights.

Sulaiman assures nothing in the way of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk

After the first fight in February, there will be a rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. According to Sulaiman, nothing will come in the way of ‘The Cat’ vs. ‘The Gypsy King’. Likewise, he assured that the mandatory contender will have to deal with an Undisputed Heavyweight champion either Fury or Usyk in 2024.“The WBC board of governors has approved Fury against Usyk in February and then the rematch so there will not be anything in the way, as far as the WBC, for both fights to take place,” Sulaiman announced. With that said, do you think Wilder vs. Joshua will come to fruition? In addition, let us know your thoughts about Sulaiman’s statements.

It seems there is finally a solid plan in place for Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder to fight one another.

This is one of the most enticing prospects in the world of boxing right now, and has been for some time. Both men are former champions and for a long time held their various belts concurrently. Negotiations have been on and off over the years but nothing has ever been officially signed.

Right now they are both preparing for solid tests on December 23 on a huge card in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua is scheduled to square off with former Tyson Fury foe and tricky Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin, while Wilder will be facing New Zealander and Joshua victim, Joseph Parker – himself a former world title holder.

The hope since those fights were announced was that, should both men be victorious, all paths would lead to a coming together of the two, especially as they are the number one and two ranked contenders with the WBC.

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder

The same organisation has now confirmed that its heavyweight title will be up for grabs when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight for the undisputed crown on February 17 and also shared a positive update on the mandatory challengers for the belt when those two have settled their differences.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has stressed to Sky Sports that his organisation has been ‘committed to supporting establishing an undisputed champion at heavyweight’ and then commented on the December 23 card and its implications for the titles.

He then all but confirmed the news boxing fans wanted to hear.

Of the high-profile eliminator he said it would be ‘unbelievable.’

He’s not wrong, but Wallin and Parker look to spoil the party first.

Chinese heavyweight boxer Zhilei Zhang believes he holds all of the required tools to bring to an end the unbeaten professional record held by Tyson Fury.

The 35-year-old from Wythenshawe is due to return to the ring against Oleksandr Usyk in February next year, after a sub-par display in his last fight against Francis Ngannou. Fury’s record currently stands at an impressive 34-0-1, with his only blemish so to speak a draw against Deontay Wilder back in December 2018.

Zhang himself has only lost one fight throughout his career to date, a unanimous decision defeat to Filip Hrgovic. However, many have continued to praise the 40-year-old giant, with his recent back-to-back victories over Joe Joyce proof that their may still be life in the old dog still.

After watching Fury’s fight against Ngannou, Zhang told the Town Bizznizz sports and ent YouTube channel that he believed Fury’s mindset was not in the correct place ahead of the bout. “I think Tyson Fury probably never trained for the Ngannou fight. It was not the Fury we know, it was a totally different person.

“If you look at his career, he’s got hit, he’s got dropped, and my punches are not a joke. When my punches land, it’s going to be a disaster for him.”

Adding further fuel to the fire along the way, Zhang believes he has more than earned his chance to fight some of the division’s top names. Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua were rumoured to be in talks regarding a potential fight, but will now fight Joshua Parker and Otto Wallin respectively next month in Saudi Arabia, on the very same boxing card.

“I always wanted to get the big four names,” Zhang continued. “Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder but they don’t want to fight me. They are running away from me.”

John Fury has expressed a belief Tyson Fury does want to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world – despite the Gypsy King saying he’s ‘not interested’.

The 35-year-old is currently preparing for his upcoming fight with Oleksandr Usyk, which is due to take place on February 17.

Fury recently said he was ‘not interested in undisputed’ and also compared it to climbing Mount Everest on regular occasions.

The 35-year-old also feels he’s got little left to prove as he enters the twilight years of his glittering career.

He said earlier this month: “I’m not interested in all of that stuff.

“I don’t care about unifying the division and all of that stuff. I’ve already done it.

“I did it when I beat [Wladimir] Klitschko, I won all the belts.

“It’s not that exciting when you’ve already done it.

“It’s like saying, ‘oh my god you’re going to climb up Mount Everest, you’ve done it 16 times before but you’re going to do it again.'”

Yet Fury’s father, John, has told the Daily Mail that he thinks his son is fibbing.

“Doesn’t care about undisputed? Well if he doesn’t care about undisputed, why is he fighting then? For the money?” he said.

“That’s not Tyson. He will care, and if he doesn’t good luck to Usyk.

“If he doesn’t care, if he comes in with that attitude, he’s not bothered, then it’s good luck to Usyk.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury

“I am one of them… if he gets beat I’ll say he gets beat.

“But once Tyson’s head is on, Usyk’s not the man to do it.”

John recently said he’d noticed a decline in his son.

Fury was poor during his recent victory over Francis Ngannou, with that fight taking place at the end of October.

The Gypsy King was floored in round three of the bout, though did end up winning via split decision.

And John has claimed he’s in the dark over Fury’s plans for the fight with Usyk, with the Briton likely to change his tactics.

“People think I know what’s going on in the training camps, but I don’t,” he added.

“I don’t have anything to do with it. I should do – but they don’t listen to daddy.

“I know what you’ve got to do for this one. You’ve got to go down a different road completely.

“Tyson will have the eye of the tiger back for this one, he’ll need to change everything round.

“He’ll need to do everything different and gain some solid muscle and put some work in – crack his balls working and when he does that, Usyk’s going to have a problem.

Ryan Garcia returns to the ring for the first time since being stopped against Gervonta “Tank” Davis in April, when he faces Oscar Duarte on December 2.

Garcia will be different when he steps between the ropes to face Duarte. He’ll have a new trainer in Derrick James, will be competing in a new weight class of 140 pounds and it will be the first time in the 25-year-old’s professional career that he’ll be looking to rebound from a loss.

With all these changes, can Garcia bounce back and become a threat to the title-holders at super lightweight, or have we already seen the best of “KingRy?”

There have been a lot of questions about Garcia’s future as a championship-caliber fighter after the loss to Davis. The way he went out and fought Davis was reckless and exposed plenty of holes in the young fighter’s game. But this is the fighter’s second act and only Garcia knows if he can be rebuilt.

The loss was humbling for a fighter who either thought he couldn’t be beaten or simply underestimated how talented Davis would be. Although this is Garcia’s first loss as a professional, it isn’t his first loss as a boxer.

While it may have been devastating at the moment, it wasn’t a career-ender for Garcia. Instead, it was a wake-up call that Garcia was still a work in progress and changes needed to be made before the young fighter could take the next step in his pro career.

To some, these wholesale changes that Garcia made may have raised a few red flags. But the move up to 140 pounds was a necessity given his growing frame and the change in trainers could have been more of a comfortability play than a panic move.

Gervonta Davis

We have to remember that Garcia practically begged for this fight and was willing to make any concessions in order for it to take place. That’s commendable but it also left him at a disadvantage.

Even though the end result may have been the same regardless of the catchweight and rehydration clause, it was a case where Garcia’s belief in himself put him in a position to have one of the biggest PPV events in recent memory.

No, he didn’t win but he saw just how bright his star could shine given the opportunity. And he wants to taste that again.

A win over a rugged opponent like Duarte gets him back on the right path while a loss would immediately turn him into a has-been. For that reason, Garcia is taking this rebuild seriously, and an impressive display against Duarte will put him on the right path in one of boxing’s toughest divisions.

Over the next few fights, Ryan Garcia is going to have to prove that he’s more than a puncher by developing his defense and stamina. Not every opponent is going to roll over once they are hit with that lightning quick left hook. Some will be able to take that punch while others will find a way to take it away.

It’ll be up to Derrick James to develop the other aspects of his game. The footwork and patience are going to have to improve but a lot of that will also come with maturity. If he’s also able to add dimensions to his offensive game to ensure that he’s no longer a one-dimensional fighter, Garcia is going to be a problem for the 140-pound division.

There’s no denying that Garcia has the talent with his natural power and hand speed. But it starts and ends with his mentality. Can he put the past behind him and use it as fuel to become a better fighter?

Judging by how he has moved since suffering his first loss, the answer appears to be a resounding yes. He’ll just have to prove it to the world on December 2.

Terence Crawford is nearing the end of his Hall-of-Fame career, and he believes he’s in a position to pursue megafights. That means saying no to some young and hungry guys looking to build their name with a win over the 36-year-old legend.

Crawford, who was recently stripped of his IBF welterweight title, was asked by a pool reporters if he would face Jaron Ennis, the man awarded the belt when Crawford didn’t face him in a mandatory bout.

“Listen, like I said. Jaron is in one place, and I’m in another. I’m looking for mega fights right now, and right now, that’s not a mega fight,” Crawford told a group of reporters Friday. “That’s my standpoint on it. I’m looking to fight guys like Canelo Alvarez. That’s pretty much it, man, and a rematch with Spence, and that’s it. That’s over with for me.”

Ennis is 31-0 with 28 KOs. However, he is only 26 years old, hasn’t quite broken into the top tier of fighters in the world, and is not among the top draws in the sport.

Crawford would be a heavy favorite over Ennis, but there isn’t much for the Omaha, Nebraska native to gain. Crawford is still undefeated and atop many pound-for-pound lists in boxing–including my most recent entry on the subject.

Terence Crawford

At this stage of his career, he has proven to be a champion and an all-time great. He is wise to chase fights that will continue to bring him generational wealth. Those kinds of fights include a fight with Canelo Alvarez or the rematch with Errol Spence at 154 pounds. Crawford scored a decisive TKO win over Spence in July.

The fight had a rematch clause that has been executed. However, the date for the second meeting hasn’t been finalized. A fight with Canelo would likely have to take place at 168 pounds, and it is probably the only bout within reason that Crawford would come in as the B-side at the negotiation table.

Even still, he’d stand to make a career-high payday for the fight, and he’d have a chance to possibly cement himself as the best fighter of his generation with a win. With those options on the table, it’s easy to see why he wouldn’t be interested in fighting Ennis.
