DEREK Chisora believes Anthony Joshua can rule the heavyweight division for a third time.

The heavyweight fighter says his old training partner could grab his crown back despite losing it to Andy Ruiz Jr and then Oleksandr Usyk.

AJ will be back in the ring against Otto Wallin on December 23 in Saudi Arabia.

If he gets the win that most people expect it will put him No2 with the IBF.

That belt is expected to become vacant following Usyk’s undisputed fight with Tyson Fury in February, assuming it goes ahead.

The sanctioning body has made it clear that the top two challengers – Filip Hrgovic and Joshua in this scenario – will fight for the vacant title.

AJ, who has already beaten Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius in his latest bid for glory, could then have the option for taking on one of those for the title.

That could mean possibly delaying a long-awaited clash with Deontay Wilder.

He fights on the same card as AJ in December, taking on Kiwi Joseph Parker.

A win there would pave the way for a blockbuster clash between the American and fellow former champ AJ.

Whichever route he goes down, Chisora has backed Watford Warrior AJ, 34, to regain his status as world champ.

Speaking on William Hill’s Up Front with Simon Jordan podcast he said: “He wants to be a three-time world champion and I will help him to get there.

“He can do it. He will do it because that will make him amazing, great.”

One of the first to receive a signed copy of the book is none other than the three-division champion, Terence Crawford. It is not just a signed copy, but it also holds a special message for Ward’s dear friend.

Terence Crawford urges fans to read Andre Ward’s new release

Crawford posted a picture of the book on his Instagram along with a video of Ward gifting ‘Bud’ the book. He captioned it “Appreciate you bro @andresogward Everyone if you haven’t already got your book, it’s in stores now. Go pick you one up and support the real.” urging fans to buy a copy and support the former boxer. In the same carousel, there also was a sweet message addressed to Crawford.

Ward wrote, “You know you are a great fighter but you are an even better man. Keep being you! Love my boi!!” expressing his appreciation and love for the undisputed champion. On the other hand, the fighter Ward does not feel deserving of the hype is Francis Ngannou. Recently, Ward commented on Ngannou’s name popping up in WBC’s top ten rankings.

Andre Ward critical of Francis Ngannou

In the aftermath of Francis Ngannou’s intense showdown with Tyson Fury, the former world champion has cast a critical eye on the Cameroonian’s recent ascent to the WBC’s top 10 rankings. Despite Ngannou’s commendable performance against Fury, which included a third-round takedown of the British champion, Ward remains unconvinced. Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Ward expressed his dissent, attributing Ngannou’s ranking to the murky realm of sports politics.

Ward emphasized the disparity, noting fighters who have tirelessly strived to break into the prestigious top 10.“I’m gonna call it what it is — it’s like politics. That’s what it is with the sanctioning bodies.” Dismissing it as a political move within the sanctioning bodies, Ward took a direct jab at Mauricio Sulaiman. He alleged that the rankings were more a product of backstage maneuvering than merit.

Ward has even declared his willingness to fight YouTuber boxers during the launch of his book. This might be the start of something new altogether. Are you excited to delve deeper into Ward’s life? Let us know in the comments below.

John Fury, father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, admits that he’s witnessed a decline in his son when examining his last three ring appearances.

Last month in Saudi Arabia, Fury was nearly derailed by MMA veteran Francis Ngannou in a non-title crossover boxing match.

Ngannou, who was making his professional debut, dropped Fury in the third round and made the fight very competitive until the final bell.

Fury was able to secure a razor-close ten round split decision win. Most observers had expected a complete mismatch.

Up next, on February 17, is an undisputed showdown with WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA champion Oleksandr Usyk.

John Fury believes his son needs more time to get properly prepared for Usyk.

“The 17th February is the date they have got to work towards. But in my opinion, Tyson needs a bit more time to get his conditioning right and his weight right,” John Fury told Metro.co.uk.

Tyson Fury and Francis Nnanganou

“For my money, his last three fights, I have seen a bit of decline. Not a decline in ability but a decline in strength, power and physical condition. I don’t know what they are doing up there, you have to address it. He didn’t look himself out in Saudi.

“He didn’t look right, everything had changed about him, his demeanor, his body. I was puzzled. He said he had been training but there is training and there is training. If you’re going at your own pace no one is going to tell you otherwise, no one is going to offend you or kick you up the backside. No one can teach Tyson how to box, or teach him more than he knows. All they can do is put some muscle on there and make his body rock solid.

“For my money he looked fat-thin, he should have been better, a bit heavier with a lot more muscle. Tyson is a mammoth fella. He needs to power up in the body department and the only way you do that is a proper course and they take time and we don’t have the time.”

Billy Joe Saunders believes Tyson Fury will be a different animal in his fight with Oleksandr Usyk compared to a below-par showing against Francis Ngannou.

The Brit was was knocked down by Ngannou in his professional boxing debut, but won a split-decision to solidify his plans for an undisputed fight with Usyk.

Speaking on the Keep a LukeOut podcast, Saunders – a close friend and training partner of Fury’s – said that it was the worst any fan will ever see the heavyweight champion perform, and that he must cut out ‘hangers on’ before the Usyk bout.

Saunders elaborated by saying that the people Fury has surrounded himself with ‘probably know nothing about boxing.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury

Fury and Usyk will face off on February 17 to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

Terence Crawford can be ferocious both in and out of the ring.

The undisputed welterweight world champion dominated and stopped Errol Spence to unify all four belts in July and crowned himself as boxing’s pound-for-pound king in the process.

The result was tough to take for Spence, but perhaps even tougher for some of his fans on social media.

Five years of build-up came to a head on July 29, when Crawford silenced all of his critics.

Among these doubters was loyal Spence fan Ray Jackson, who to this day still continues to post jokey tweets about how he refuses to give the victor any credit.

On Friday, Jackson began by quote-tweeting a video suggesting Crawford used illicit hand wraps in the Spence fight

He said: “This is why I don’t give Crawford credit for the Spence win. Tim Bradley even called this BS out.”

Terence Crawford

Crawford ruthlessly replied: “Yo momma give me all the credit for you coming outta my nutsack though.

“She just mad at me because I told her you wasn’t mines because she was out there heavy in the streets I found out. So she kept you away from me son I’m sorry it wasn’t my fault she did it, ask her.”

The thread then exploded with numerous replies from other boxing fans.

Jackson responded to one of them: “Chill dawg.”

But Crawford misinterpreted this message and thought it was meant for him.

He therefore hit back: “Or what?”

Jackson answered: “Since you mad n***a, help your fellow black man get a new forklift. It’s times like this we gotta stick together.”

Crawford replied: “Come on son, get the money from yo mom.

“All that child support money I had to pay her all them years. I know she got you.”

Jackson then posted a screenshot of Google Maps directions heading to Crawford’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

He captioned this: “Alright n***a, you say one more thing about my mama I’m hitting this damn highway.”

Crawford remained ruthless and said: “Yo momma would advise you not to play with your father like that. But pull up son, it’s been a long time since I seen you.”

Jackson gave up at this point and posted a picture of his face photoshopped onto a knocked out fighter’s body.

Jose Benavidez Jr. is about to go toe to toe with Jermall Charlo two days from now. However, that’s not the reason ‘Merciless’ Benavidez Jr. is making the headlines today! In a surprising turn of events, Benavidez Jr. revealed previously unknown details about a sparring session with none other than Errol Spence Jr. Previously, ‘The Truth’ suffered his first-ever career loss at the hands of Terence Crawford

So, Benavidez’s revelation came as a bigger surprise for the fans everywhere. In a recent interview with ES News, the Phoenix resident indulged in some seriously surprising details about his unknown sparring session with Spence. What did he say? Here’s a hint – Benavidez claimed Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford isn’t the only person who knocked ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr. However, that’s not the end of it. Benavidez claims he can prove it!

Jose Benavidez claims he’s got a video of a sparring session with Spence

Terence Crawford

While speaking to Elie Seckbach from ES News, the 31-year-old super welterweight revealed that he has a video of him sparring with Spence. “I got a video from a while back of me sparring [Errol] Spence,” said ‘Merciless.’ When probed further about it by Seckbach, Benavidez revealed he has not shared the video yet. “I haven’t posted that video. It’s a good video,” Benavidez told Seckbach.

Moreover, later in the interview, the California native hinted at knocking out Errol Spence Jr. in a sparring match between them. “Terence Crawford is not the only one who dropped Spence. I will tell you that much,” said Benavidez. It’s worth mentioning that ‘Bud’ Crawford knocked down Spence three times during their fight before the referee stopped the one-sided affair. What’s more, Spence has activated his rematch clause, and Crawford is here for it.

Terence Crawford on Errol Spence Jr. rematch

After the dominant win over Spence Jr., Crawford became the first male boxer to attain all major titles in two different weight divisions. On the other hand, Spence’s boxing career spiraled down from that point on. So, Spence thought of redeeming himself by fighting Crawford again. However, what does ‘Bud’ Crawford say about it?

According to a recent tweet from Michael Benson, editor for talkSport, Crawford is ready to take on the challenge. “We signed to do a rematch, and that’s what it is. I don’t have a date, but I know that next,” said Crawford. He went on to praise Spence for having a champion’s mentality for wanting a rematch. “I take my hat off to him. It was always respect,” said Crawford.

With a couple of days left in his big day, Jose Benavidez dropped a bombshell on the boxing world. However, only time can tell if what he claims is true. Until then, we would like to get your thoughts on what Benavidez had to say about the sparring session with Errol Spence Jr.

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is expecting a knockout ending in the upcoming crossroads heavyweight clash between Daniel Dubois and Jarrell Miller.

Their fight will be part of the big boxing card on December 23 in Saudi Arabia.

The card will be headlined by Hearn’s biggest star, former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua, who faces top contender Otto Wallin.

“It’s a great fight. Miller will either get stopped or he’ll stop Daniel Dubois. If he gets stopped that’s the end of Jarrell Miller, if he stops Daniel Dubois he’s right back in the mix,” Hearn told Fight Hub TV.

Miller has a long history of animosity with Joshua.

Anthony Joshua

They were scheduled to collide in 2019 in New York City, but Miller was pulled from the fight after testing positive for numerous performance enhancing drugs.

During the press conference to announce the December card, Joshua and Miller resumed their hostilities by trading heated words.

Should Miller secure an impressive win over Dubois, then a fight with Joshua could be a possibility down the line.

“Joshua wants to smash him up. Don’t forget the beef that those two had in New York, then the round table which nobody has seen yet but I’m sure it will get released one day soon. There is history there,” Hearn said.

“We know why the fight didn’t happen and there are a lot of people from our side that aren’t happy with what he did. The fight has never come back round because I felt like he didn’t deserve it. But sometimes time is a good healer and if he can beat Daniel Dubois then I’m sure he’ll scream and shout in that ring and say ‘I want AJ’ and then commercially that fight becomes big. Good luck to Jarrell, I don’t have dislike or hatred towards him, I don’t like what I saw but good luck.”

The wait goes on for British heavyweight Frazer Clarke.

The unbeaten 32 year old is still hoping that a deal can be agreed for him to face British heavyweight champion, Fabio Wardley, early next year.

Last month, Wardley stopped David Adeleye to successfully defend his belt in Saudi Arabia and remains a promotional free agent.

Wardley is sure to have plenty of offers for his services and there isn’t likely to be a quick decision made on if, when and where Clarke (8-0, 6 KO’s) will get his shot so the 2020 Olympic bronze medallist allowed himself to slip into fan mode last week.

Clarke was an interested observer when the protagonists of the massive December 23rd show in Saudi Arabia came together at last week’s launch press conference.

As well as providing boxing fans with a tantalizing glimpse of exactly what the future may hold given this influx of Saudi Arabian money, the event was manna from heaven for armchair psychologists. With Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren seated within six feet of each other for the first time ever and heavyweight rivals Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller all sat at the top table, those who seems to care more about clickbait, drama and politics than actually fighting were in their element.

Anthony Joshua

Joshua’s behavior attracted the most attention. There was a surreal, celebratory atmosphere to the who press conference but the two-time unified heavyweight champion wasn’t in the mood to join in, he was clearly there for business. He and Miller reignited their long running feud and the outspoken American clearly angered Joshua with a few deliberately chosen putdowns.

Joshua then switched his attention to his opponent for December 23rd, Otto Wallin, and exchanged a few words with the mild-mannered Swede when they came face to face. To the initiated, it was little more than fight talk and fight behavior but those who watch interviews with their thumb hovering over their phone ready to deliver their searing hot takes couldn’t help but make their opinions on Joshua’s frame of mind known.

Clarke knows Joshua well and took it all with one big pinch of salt.

“You can take what you want from it. It’s an argument. I have road rage every day with people, it doesn’t bother me once I get home, it’s been and gone. It’s a bit of squabbling,” Clarke told SecondsOut.

“‘Oh, Joshua’s rattled. Oh, Tyson Fury was rattled by Usyk,’ they aren’t rattled, they’re just having a bit of a say. 24 hours later, I’m sure they’ve gone home, gone to sleep in a three or four million pound mansion, put their feet up, sat in a jacuzzi, got the chef to bring some food over and they’ve forgot about it. They aren’t worried about that.

“Joshua’s job is fighting. He isn’t bothered about squabbles at press conferences. People always say people are rattled. We aren’t rattled. We’re fighting people. We don’t get rattled by words, we get rattled if someone smashes us in the jaw or breaks your nose or cuts your eye. We’re not rattled by words off idiots like Jarrell Miller. He’s a cheat, he shouldn’t even be up there. How’s that f——- idiot getting paid all that money to go over to Saudi Arabia to fight. He’s a cheat, he shouldn’t be boxing. It’s f——- wrong but there we go.”

Lamont Roach saw weakness in Hector Luis Garcia when he watched Gervonta Davis stop the Dominican southpaw in Garcia’s last fight.

Garcia’s reaction to Davis’ devastating punches late in the eighth round has convinced Roach that he can make the WBA super featherweight champion wilt when they meet in a 12-round, 130-pound title fight Saturday night in Las Vegas. Roach (23-1-1, 9 KOs) has knocked out only 36 percent of his opponents as a pro, yet he is confident he can stop Garcia (16-1, 10 KOs, 3 NC) inside the distance in Showtime Pay-Per-View’s opener on the David Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade undercard at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino’s Michelob ULTRA Arena (8 p.m. ET; 5 p.m. PT; $74.99).

“Man, I’m from the trenches,” Roach said during a virtual press conference recently. “Man, I’m sticking to my guns, for sure. Like that’s what I’m here for. Mind you, I was there for that Tank fight. Like I was there, front row. Like I was there. I seen Tank take the fight out of him. I think I can do the same thing. I know I can, for sure – for sure, for sure. So, I hope he ain’t gun-shy, cuz it might be quick.”

The 28-year-old Roach, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is the WBA’s mandatory challenger for Garcia’s championship. He’ll end a 16-month layoff when he squares off against Garcia in his first fight since Roach defeated Venezuela’s Angel Rodriguez (21-3, 11 KOs) by unanimous decision in a 12-rounder that took place in July 2022 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old Garcia has moved back down from the 135-pound division to his natural weight class after suffering his first professional loss to Davis (29-0, 27 KOs). Baltimore’s Davis drilled Garcia with a left hand that hurt him toward the end of the eighth round of what had been a somewhat competitive contest January 7 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

A staggered Garcia started to walk to the wrong corner after the eighth round ended. He complained about blurry vision between the eighth and ninth rounds, which prompted referee Earl Brown to halt the action very early in the ninth round.

Garcia, who is listed by FanDuel sportsbook as almost a 4-1 favorite over Roach, was unfazed by Roach’s tough talk during the abovementioned virtual press conference.

“Let him talk,” Garcia said, according to his translator. “Lamont Roach, like most American fighters, what they do is they like to talk. That’s his thing. Good for him. But my responsibility is to defend that title and exit the ring walking out like a champion. So, that’s what I’m gonna focus on. I’m not a big talker. I prefer to talk inside the ring, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.”

Gervonta Davis is one of the most prominent rising prospects in the world of boxing. Known for his explosive power and impressive speed, Davis has left almost every opponent he has faced so far on the canvas. At just the age of 29 years old, he already has an undefeated record with 27 of his 29 victories coming via a knockout. His knockout performance earlier this year against Ryan Garcia was a testament to his skill being levels above his contemporaries.

However, after his April fight, he didn’t return to the ring and doesn’t appear to have any plans to do so either for the remainder of the year. This is also because of him finding himself in trouble with the law. However, it appears that another opponent for the boxing champion has turned up. So what happens when the boxing sensation gets challenged by a rapper to a no-gloves fight?

Claressa Shields is left in disbelief as a rapper challenges Gervonta Davis

The surprising situation took place when rapper HoneyKomb Brazy had a bone to pick with none other than the WBA lightweight champion. In an Instagram Live, he boldly claimed, “Tank Davis? Who the fuck is Tank Davis? Tank that got knocked out a couple times in the ring with n****s. Tank that got dropped with gloves on- ain’t no gloves on these b***hes”. He even predicted the whole sequence of the brawl that would take place between them.

Gervonta Davis

He claimed that he would simply drop Davis even stating, “Not today Tank. Down goes Frazier, ain’t no way. Ain’t no way here, I swear to god I’ll beat the f**k outta Tank Davis. I know that for a fact.” As the news surfaced on social media it left the fans in disbelief over the rapper’s bold predictions. However, even the undisputed champion Claressa Shields was utterly baffled by this as she shared the video with her followers. She even wrote, “the AUDACITY!”, indicating her surprise at the call out.

We all know it is not in Davis’ nature to back down from a fight and Brazy’s bold challenge received a swift response.

Davis wants all the smoke

Those who know ‘Tank’ would have seen this coming as the Baltimore native doesn’t let any disrespect slide. So naturally when the news of the callout reached him, he didn’t hesitate to pick up the challenge. Interestingly Davis asked Brazy for a no gloves fight after his comments on Davis fighting with gloves on. Davis wrote, “We can catch the one no gloves on.” At the time the rapper appeared bold as he claimed, “When you want to do it I’m really like that I’m not dodging no smoke @gervontaa real prison baby”.

However, as the boxer readily agreed to the fight, it seems that the reality quickly set in for the rapper. After the young boxer sent a message to the rapper writing, “Ion no fight coming up so we can do it asap.” Surprisingly Brazy quickly folded as he wrote, “Man yall tell tank leave me alone fr…I was just talking shh fr I be betting on you every time I respect yo gangsta.” He even posted a screenshot of his conversation with Davis.

It appears fans will not get to see Davis in an all-out no gloves fight for now. What are your thoughts about the whole situation? Did you want Davis to fight the rapper?
