The name of Terence Crawford, continues to sound as one of the possible rivals of the undisputed super middleweight champion, the Mexican Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and now that the American fighter launched a comment where he questioned the punching power of the Mexican.

Crawford became undisputed champion, after a spectacular demonstration over Errol Spence Jr., whom he knocked out forcefully last July 2023. And now, he talked about what a hypothetical fight between undisputed fighters would be like for him, assuring that he is not afraid of Canelo‘s punch.

“I can’t get in a ring thinking if this guy hits me he’s going to knock me out, or if he connects he’s going to break my rib. I wouldn’t even consider a fight if I think I can’t handle that level of punching, but (Canelo) isn’t Deontay Wilder or anything like that,” Crawford said in an interview with FightHub TV.

Terence Bud Crawford and Canelo Alvarez

is a fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford viable?

However, he considered that if the fight against the Mexican were to happen, it would be a great fight because both would be on equal terms, because auqnue currently there is a considerable difference in weight, their dimensions are similar

Canelo is a big guy, but at the same time I believe in my skills…he’s a heavy guy, but he’s not a big guy. He’s 5’7″ and I’m 5’7″ too. That fight would be good,” he said.

Should a fight between the two fighters materialize, Crawford would have to move up at least 19 pounds, from 147 to 168 pounds, to challenge the undisputed super middleweight title held by the Mexican

Just a few months ago, Errol Spence Jr. was considered a pound-for-pound luminary, an unquestioned star, and one of the best fighters on the planet. Now, however, many are taking back their praise.

On July 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada, Spence was flat-out dominated at the hands of Terence Crawford. Prior to them meeting up in the center of the ring, Spence vs. Crawford was viewed as one of the biggest fights the sport of boxing has ever seen. More importantly, opinions surrounding their undisputed clash were split right down the middle.

Outside of the opening three minutes, Crawford punished the former champ, dropping him several times before eventually getting rid of him in the ninth.

As the rounds grew more and more lopsided, the grin on Brian “Bomac” McIntyre’s face grew wider and wider. The longtime trainer carefully instructed his man after each frame and was the proudest man in the building when it all came to an end.

Immediately after it all played out, a poignant Spence slinked back to his locker room with his head down. Making the 147-pound limit has become an arduous ask for the former unified champ, so, on a whim, he revealed that he would like to continue his career at 154 pounds.

Following his admission, Spence also stated that he would like to fight Crawford again but in the junior middleweight division. Currently, both parties are involved in protracted conclaves as they iron out the kinks in their deal.

It’s unclear if their rematch will actually take place but one thing for sure is Spence has no intentions of returning to the welterweight division. If a showdown against Crawford is ostensibly off the table, Tim Tszyu could become his new target.

The recently crowned WBO belt holder is coming off a clear victory over Brian Mendoza and is barking in the direction of Jermell Charlo, the division’s IBF, WBA, and WBC champion. If Charlo is unwilling, the Aussie has stated on numerous occasions that he would love to mix it up with Spence.

The Dallas native hasn’t had a single bout at 154 pounds. He also has to prove that he can bounce back from the first defeat of his career. On paper, you could make the argument that Tszyu is the best that the junior middleweight division has to offer. But, with that said, if he matched up with Spence, Bomac doesn’t give the Aussie a chance in hell.

“He’ll stop Tim Tszyu,” Bomac told Sean Zittel of FightHype.com. “Errol would stop Tim Tszyu

Claressa Shields, the undisputed women’s middleweight champion, claims she is in training camp for a spectacular intergender fight with former welterweight king Keith Thurman.

The Olympic Gold medalist is undefeated with a perfect 14-0 record and retained the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, WBF, and The Ring female middleweight titles in her last bout against Maricela Cornejo in Detroit, Michigan in June.

She’s defeated every woman she’s stepped in the ring against but now the self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ wants to square off against Thurman, whose only career defeat came against Manny Pacquiao.

Shields put the challenge out on Monday, claiming that she could outbox him.

The three-weight world champion wrote: “I’ll fight Thurman at 154lbs so serious. All the respect in the world to him too. I just think I can outbox him.”

Thurman has been extremely inactive in recent times, fighting just once in the last four years. In response, he expressed his interest in a charity bout but requested that Shields wear bigger gloves and protective headgear as he doesn’t “want to punch a girl in the face”.

Claressa Shields

Shields, who was once challenged to a spar with Jake Paul, didn’t like that comment one bit and fired back, pointing out that she is bigger and taller than Thurman and telling him to wear a “big cup shield”.

The 28-year-old said: “Aww, Keith you are hilarious. Yes, you are a man and champion, but you are not good enough to only use one hand on me.

“Now for charity or raising money for a foundation, we can definitely do it. I’ll come in at 160 too, I’m actually bigger than you and taller.

“And lastly if we are ‘sparring’ of course I’ll wear a ‘headgear’ but for a charity event or raising money for a foundation you can keep the head gear bookie butt and you can wear a big cup shield cause I’m gonna punch you hard in the stomach like Luiz did.”

But it seems as though Shields is not playing. On Tuesday, she tweeted to say she is now training with former two-weight world champion Shakur Stevenson.

Shields stated: “Camp started for Keith Thurman activated ! Let’s go. I’m gonna get in the gym with Shakur Stevenson to help me prepare.'”

Stevenson added: “Let’s do it”, accompanying the GOAT emoji.

Shields has gone on record to say 98 per cent of men can’t beat her and now that comment may well be put to the test.

The ring return of Gervonta Davis is highly anticipated following a stoppage win over Ryan Garcia back in April.

The incredibly lucrative fight saw ‘Tank’ drop the previously undefeated Garcia in both the second and seventh rounds, the latter being a showstopping body shot marking the winner’s 29th win and 27th by KO.

Any momentum gathered was halted by a court case relating to a hit and run that saw Davis serving community service, subsequently jail time.

Now out and in training, talk has turned to who the Baltimore puncher may face next. With the lightweight titles having the potential to become vacant soon as champion Devin Haney has a crack up at 140lbs, Davis is not far off fighting for a belt. He is currently the WBA Regular Champion, and number one is a former foe in Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz.

The pair have faced off before, and the win was one of only two ‘Tank’ fights that made it the distance. A rematch has been discussed, and was said to be the frontrunner for his return. Reports even suggested a date was pencilled in.

‘Tank’s trainer, Calvin Ford, has been open in wanting the rematch, saying that it was his preferred fight. However, in a recent interview with ES News, the coach and mentor alluded to Davis ruling this out.

It will likely be a welcome decision from fans, who are keen to see Davis continue to test himself against the likes of Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson.

It has been some time now that the current WBC Super Lightweight champion has been chasing Gervonta Davis. After Davis defeated Mario Barrios at 140 lbs to win the WBA Super Lightweight title in 2021, Regis Prograis, who has been fighting in the same division since 2015, openly challenged ‘Tank’. Taking to X, despite praising Gervonta for winning against a “solid opponent,” Prograis guaranteed that he would “smash” Davis.

Recently, ahead of the Devin Haney fight, Prograis publicly reiterated that he was open to fighting ‘Tank’ in the ring. In this context, as a fan recently celebrated Prograis, Davis insulted the same openly via a deleted tweet. At this, after a random fan accused Davis of being scared, ‘Tank’ ripped the former apart.

Gervonta Davis continues to be a headache for Regis Prograis and his fans

As we near the Haney vs. Prograis fight, a fan retweeted one of Prograis’ tweets and celebrated the latter prematurely. Showing faith in Prograis’ ability to defend the WBC Super Lightweight title against Haney, they wrote, “AND STILL.” At this, unexpectedly, as soon as the tweet came to Gervonta Davis’ notice, ‘Tank’ insulted Prograis and his supporters by calling Regis a flat-footed bastard. “AND STILL a flat footed bastard,” Davis wrote in a deleted tweet.

Gervonta Davis

In this connection, since ‘Tank’ deleted the tweet, a fan later accused Davis of being scared of Regis. “He do a lot of tweeting and deleting Nî**a scary,” they wrote. But, while the fan in question thought they would get away with their comment, Gervonta Davis smoked the former with a thundering reply. “Shut up, B**h!” he said.

While Davis called Prograis flat-footed, it is important to notice what the latter feels about fighting ‘Tank’ and proving the same wrong in the ring.

Marvin Hagler of his division, Prograis demands the “face of boxing” Davis at 140 lbs

Regis Prograis, who considers himself the Marvin Hagler of his division, recently declared that ‘Tank’ was still a fight he was pursuing. In his opinion, since either Gervonta Davis or Canelo Alvarez is currently the “face of boxing,” ‘Tank’ vs. Regis would be one of the biggest fights in the sport. However, on being asked whether or not he would like to face Davis at a catchweight, Regis answered in the negative.

No, we’re not doing no catchweight. It’s going to be 140, and that’s it,” said Prograis.

Is it only a matter of time before Davis faces Regis? And if it does come to fruition, will it live up to the hype? Anyway, what do you think of Davis calling Prograis flat-footed? Let us know in the comments.

Deontay Wilder will have an eye on Anthony Joshua’s fight with Otto Wallin next month after his own against Joseph Parker.

The American returns to the ring following over a year of inactiv against the former WBO World Champion and Tyson Fury training partner, Joseph Parker.

Also on the bill is Joshua-Wallin, the Brit’s third fight this year since his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk in 2022.

‘AJ’ remains a top attraction in the heavyweight division, but fans are tuning in now to see how he approaches fights rather than expecting big time knockouts. He has been branded tentative and gun-shy, but says himself that any new style is born from being a smarter fighter.

His boxing brain will be put to the test against Wallin. The Swedish southpaw took Tyson Fury the distance in 2019, losing but causing a massive gash that was close to changing the course of the fight.

He has built six wins since, and says he is confident of upsetting the odds against a ‘past-his-peak’ Joshua.

Anthony Joshua

Speaking to ES News, Wilder disagreed. He backed his fellow former champion to get the knockout victory.

“Joshua. I think Joshua knocks him out. Six-to-eight rounds.”

He has a vested interest of course – a Joshua win keeping hopes alive for a transatlantic clash between the pair that has been long awaited and over marinated.

The 2024 now looks like the year to do it assuming both men get victories in December, which is certainly not a foregone conclusion.

The card also features world championship defences from Dmitry Bivol and Jai Opetaia and a host of heavyweight action from the likes of Daniel Dubois, Filip Hrgovic and Frank Sanchez.

In his conversation with the professional boxer, Tunechi talked about how he still gets nervous before his concerts and the only person who can make it go away is Anita Baker and her voice. Tune also added that he has told Anita this to her face.

Only a clip has been released from this episode, which you can watch below, and I believe it may have something to do with Weezy having dental work done on his back teeth around the time this was filmed. However, you can listen to the full broadcast here.

After the IBF stripped Terence Crawford of the Welterweight belt and gave the same to Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, then IBF Interim Welterweight champion, Crawford bemoaned the fact that Ennis was cool with being an email champion. Additionally, the 36-year-old claimed that the IBF deliberately assigned him a mandatory title defense against ‘Boots’ at a time they knew it was a must that ‘Bud’ prioritized his rematch with Errol Spence Jr. over Ennis.

In this context, following the latest interview with Fight Hub TV where ‘Bud’ sent the IBF the F word, the former Undisputed champion at 147 decided to reflect on his accomplishments through an Instagram reel. In doing so, he indirectly took a jab at both the IBF and Jaron Ennis.

Terence Crawford vows to continue shining despite the “hate”

Recently, speaking to Fight Hub TV, Crawford stated that the IBF “pick and choose.” In his opinion, it wasn’t necessary to strip him of the belt only two and a half months after he became the Undisputed champ at 147 with his victory over Spence Jr. However, ‘Bud’ realized that he must move on. But, before doing so, he visited his mother’s house and displayed all the belts he earned in the sport.

Just reflecting on my accomplishments at my mama’s house. That’s where my belts at. Hard work, dedication. So, I see why y’all mad. I see why you’re all mad. Diamonds are forever,” said Crawford. By and by, looking at the WBO NABO Lightweight title he won in 2013, ‘Bud’ said, “This is where it all started. Right here, this one, in Texas.

And before concluding, he vowed to continue shining despite all the hate. “Don’t hate just congratulate. All these beautiful accomplishments collecting dust at the same time. Terence Crawford, all day. Just continue to hate, I’mma continue to shine. History books. Earned, can’t take that away from me,” he added.

In this connection, while Crawford took shots ‘Boots’ and the IBF, it is also worth mentioning that he also declared Ennis should have waited for the Crawford fight.

Crawford wanted ‘Boots’ to wait longer than he did

Although Crawford claimed he understood how frustrated ‘Boots’ was since he had to wait for “a long time,” ‘Bud’ thought Ennis could have also settled for someone else as long as Spence Jr. vs. Crawford II wasn’t over. Likewise, the 36-year-old declared that if it were him, he would have simply refused the belt which arrived via email. “If I was him I’ll just tell them I want to fight for it. Don’t send me a belt in the mail,” said Crawford.

Claressa Shields has once again goaded former world champion Keith Thurman after the pair verbally agreed to an unprecedented battle of the sexes boxing match.

Thurman, who was a unified welterweight world champion before being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao, has called for a bout with Shields, who is a current multiple-weight undefeated world champion. His jibes have been reminiscent of Bobby Riggs against Billy Jean King in their famous 1973 tennis match, with his rival clearly interested in the bout.

Shields, who also competes under the PFL banner in MMA, has dismissed his tongue-in-cheek suggestions that she could wear headgear and smaller gloves while he donned bigger ones. In fact, she has warned him to “tread lightly” as the pair continue discussions over the potential charity showcase.

Claressa Shields

“A fight I’m actually interested in is Larissa Pacheco in the PFL,” Shields joked when asked about the Thurman bout by Mirror Fighting in New York yesterday. “That’s somebody I’m really interested in, I don’t know what it is with these men they have huge ego problems, not just in boxing but in general in life.

“Keith said he could beat me with one hand and he could wear bigger gloves and I could wear headgear? I’m like ‘dude, stop’. The guy walks around at 154lb, you’re not that good of a boxer, you’re not a world champ, just tread lightly because I will get in there and I will fight him with both hands.”

However, Shields feels that Thurman, who has fought just once in the four years since he lost his title to Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas, is not serious about the fight. She has shared a potential fight poster on social media, but claims that he has gone silent when contracts and money were mentioned.

“He said he wanted to do it for charity but who knows?” Shields continued. “All these guys talk but when you throw the contracts at them and they get to mentioning money, these guys zip it.”

A more likely outcome for Shields’ future is a rematch with Savannah Marshall, with whom she faced off inside of the PFL Smart Cage yesterday at Madison Square Garden. She is keen to flow between boxing and MMA, with promotional CEO Peter Murray telling Mirror Fighting that a cage fight between the two is touted for 2025.

It has been nearly seven months since Gervonta Davis fought Ryan Garcia with his WBA Lightweight title on the line. Following this bout, as Davis continued to remain a threat in the Lightweight division, Garcia hurriedly moved up to 140 lbs. With Garcia defeated and gone, and the likes of Rolando Romero, Isaac Cruz, and Mario Barrios beaten, it is time that Gervonta “Tank” Davis faces the likes of Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney.

owever, Team Davis has yet to confirm their next fight. But while fans eagerly await Gervonta’s next opponent, the 29-year-old keeps his fans entertained with his messages and photos of hardcore training.

Gervonta Davis leaves message for his critics Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez

Despite the success he has received inside the ring, fellow boxers have often slammed Gervonta Davis. In the near past, the former Undisputed Lightweight champion Devin Haney claimed that Tank deliberately avoided competitors who could actually put him in a fix. On the other hand, Teofimo Lopez, following his bout against Josh Taylor, while speaking about a potential fight with Davis, insulted him by calling him a “p***y” and a “b**ch.”

In this connection, Tank, who is arguably one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, recently took a jab at his critics. His detractors include the likes of Lopez and Haney. Taking to Instagram, the WBA Lightweight title holder shared a message that read, “Your biggest critics will eventually copy your moves.

Naoya Inoue, Shakur Stevenson, Isaac Cruz, Teofimo Lopez, and Devin Haney: Boxers ‘Tank’ may face next

Naoya Inoue, the current Unified Super Bantamweight champion expressed his desire to climb up to 135 lbs for a fight with Tank. On the other hand, the head of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, Sean Gibbons revealed that there was a chance Isaac Cruz would face Davis in a rematch in 2024. In addition, now that Shakur Stevenson has become the WBC Lightweight champion, it is likely that Davis and Stevenson will share the ring.

Meanwhile, Team Teofimo Lopez and Team Davis recently confirmed that the two boxers could face one another soon. Finally, there is a great chance that Davis and Haney would fight. With so many options available for Davis, fans cannot help but get excited. Hopefully, Davis would also reveal who he is preparing for. What do you make of Davis’ latest post?
