Teofimo Lopez has always been willing to fight the best of the best….even when it didn’t seem like a great idea.

After a not-so-great showing against Masayoshi Nakatani, Lopez walked straight into a showdown against Richard Commey. Oddsmakers at the time we’re convinced that it was a 50/50 matchup. That is until Lopez took him out in the second round.

In the two biggest fights of his pugilistic life, Lopez was a sizable underdog against both Vasiliy Lomachenko and Josh Taylor. Still, like he always does, he rose to the occasion, beating both on their best days.

Now, even with Lopez vacillating between retirement and continuing to fight, he’s hoping to get his hands on Gervonta Davis. Ultimately, while he would love to be on the other side of the ring against the hard-hitting star, he doubts that his handlers would allow that to happen.

Gervonta Davis

“The reason why the Tank Davis fight won’t happen is obviously they have their mock-up plan on what their gonna do with Gervonta,” Lopez told ProBox TV.

Davis, for a chunk of his career, has been chastised for fighting opponents that many deemed weren’t on his level. For his 2023, the soon-to-be 29-year-old took out a pair of Garcia’s – the first being Hector Luis Garcia and the second being Ryan Garcia.

Lopez though, yawns whenever Davis is brought up in conversations. He undoubtedly has the skills and power. As a youngster, Lopez and Davis shared the ring for several sparring sessions. So all in all, Lopez knows what Davis brings to the table. However, he doesn’t believe Davis is testing himself. But, thanks to his popularity and ability to put butts in seats, Davis can pick and choose whomever he wants. And, according to Lopez, he isn’t choosing the best available names.

“He doesn’t have to go above the B level, he doesn’t have to go below the C level.”

Anthony Joshua has made it clear that he’s looking to become three-time world champion before all is said and done, and some strategic matchmaking could see it happen sooner than expected.

The Olympic Gold Medalist unified three of the four major heavyweight belts in 21 fights before briefly losing in a shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. Joshua won that back in an immediate rematch six months later, beat Kubrat Pulev in 2020 but lost again to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021.

That rematch did not go in the Brit’s favour, and Usyk left the rivalry with all three titles and the opportunity to fight for undisputed – a longterm goal of ‘AJ’s – against the division’s other champion, Tyson Fury.

With that fight now signed and set for February, it was previously thought that Joshua would either have to beat Usyk in a trilogy or finally face off with Fury to achieve his goal.

Confirmation of a two-way rematch clause in the four-belt fight means that the IBF – which has ordered the winner to face its mandatory challenger, Filip Hrgovic – will strip the winner and make its belt vacant.

Anthony Joshua

Hrgovic will fight the number two ranked contender, currently Otto Wallin following a points victory over Murat Gassiev.

Joshua – currently ranked number three – are keen to snatch that spot from the Swedish southpaw, and are reportedly close to finalising a deal to face him on December 23 in Saudi Arabia.

A win would mean that a fight with Hrgovic, potentially in March, could well be for the vacant IBF Heavyweight World Title.

Deontay Wilder, also a former champion looking to get back to the top, could appear on the card too. He’s angling to face Joshua himself in the first half of next year.

Deontay Wilder is considering flying to the UK to speak with Anthony Joshua face-to-face about their uncertain fight.

Former heavyweight world champions Joshua and Wilder have been linked to fight for many years but are yet to meet in the ring. All signs pointed to a fight between the pair after ‘AJ’ brutally knocked out Robert Helenius in August, but talks between the two camps have come to a standstill again in recent weeks.

Wilder has insisted that he is ready to fight as he told Blue Blood Sports TV: “I just don’t know what’s up with Joshua. Maybe I’m gonna have to go to England and sit down with him on some real man s***… I don’t want him to feel like I have anything against him, but I know he’s afraid of me. Joshua, me and you is the biggest fight in the world bro, what are you doing? I really wanna talk to that dude.”

Wilder hasn’t fought since knocking out Helenius in under three minutes last October, with the win marking his first fight back since two devastating defeats to Tyson Fury. The American, who turned 38 last month, is aware that he isn’t getting any younger as he pleaded with Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn to make the fight.

Anthony-Joshua and Deontay-Wilder

“I promise you guys I will be back very soon,” Wilder said. “I’m doing everything in my power to make it happen, so Anthony you can hear this personally from the horse’s mouth itself. I’m here and ready to go. I heard some things your promoter said about how I’ve not fought in a year and he doesn’t know if I want to fight or not.

“I’m letting you know right now, right here, I’m ready to fight and get in that ring. Let’s make this the best time of our lives. This will be a major disaster if we would never be able to get in the ring and put our stamp down in history. When people think about classic or great fights, I want them to think about us as well.”

Wilder has also shown an interest in fighting former UFC champion Francis Ngannou after his controversial defeat to Fury last month. Ngannou hinted that he could either fight Wilder in boxing or MMA, which is unsurprising given Wilder has teased the possibility of him competing in the UFC.

In a sport like boxing, where speculations about fights between two contenders can spark a fierce rivalry, two fighters have been making the headlines. Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez have forged a rivalry despite fighting in two different weight divisions. After Crawford became the only male boxer to hold all major titles in two different weight divisions, he desired to fight Canelo. However, Amir Khan does not agree with the decision!

The boxing world has been buzzing with excitement with the probability of these two behemoths clashing in the ring. Nevertheless, many voices have predicted the journey for Crawford would not be easy. Among those voices, Amir Khan recently appeared in an interview with ES News to express his thoughts on the potential fight. It’s worth mentioning that Khan previously faced both Canelo and Crawford. So, who is better than Khan to impart vital advice to Crawford?

Amir Khan claims Terence Crawford doesn’t need to fight Canelo Alvarez

Terence Bud Crawford

While appearing in an interview with ES News, Elie Seckbach questioned Khan about his thoughts on a potential Canelo vs. Crawford fight. Having fought both fighters during his career, Khan quickly responded with some advice. Khan suggested that size is a big deal in a boxing match, so he wouldn’t advise Crawford to take the fight.

“Size makes a big difference, man. Even though Crawford’s my friend, I wouldn’t advise him to take that fight,” Khan told ES News. He went on to justify his advice by claiming that the fight would take too much out of the 40-0 undefeated boxer. Khan also added that ‘Bud’ doesn’t need to fight Canelo. “He doesn’t need to do anything. He doesn’t need to fight Canelo,” said Khan.

Demetrius Andrade’s Coach warns Crawford

He went on to suggest that the only places where weight doesn’t count are the streets and BKB. Rozier also added that Crawford should only consider moving up weight classes if he seriously wanted the fight while warning Crawford it wouldn’t go well. “Do not, I repeat, do not consider unless you just wanna make that fight, Canelo. It’s not gonna be good,” said Rozier.

Amir Khan isn’t alone in thinking Crawford would have a hard time with Canelo Alvarez. Even Demetrius Andrade’s Coach, Andre Rozier, thinks weight classes are important. While appealing in a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Rozier advised Crawford to leave Canelo alone. “Leave the big man alone. Weight classes do count,” said Rozier.

Having fought against both Canelo and Crawford, Amir Khan imparts a vital piece of advice to Crawford that could define if the fight ever happens. Do you think Canelo should fight Crawford? Do you think Crawford can defeat Canelo?

LAS VEGAS – Shakur Stevenson has felt firsthand how hard Terence Crawford can punch during sparring sessions that taught Stevenson invaluable lessons early in his career.

The two-division champion has also seen Crawford hurt a heavyweight in sparring. Those experiences have made Stevenson believe skeptics have underestimated Crawford’s chances if he were to land a shot at Canelo Alvarez.

Crawford would have to move up three weight classes, 21 pounds altogether, for what would be the biggest fight of his career. The Omaha, Nebraska native has never boxed above the welterweight limit of 147 pounds in 15 years as a pro, but Stevenson doesn’t view Crawford coming up so much in weight as an insurmountable disadvantage.

Stevenson acknowledged during a recent interview with a group of reporters and videographers that Alvarez’s power is a factor to consider. He is nonetheless confident that Alvarez wouldn’t walk through Crawford’s punches, either.

“Canelo’s gonna feel his punch just as much as Bud feels Canelo’s punch,” Stevenson said before an open workout at promoter Top Rank’s gym.

Stevenson realized just how hard Crawford punches when he watched the three-division champion spar an unidentified heavyweight early in 2019.

“Bud strong as sh!t,” Stevenson said. “Like I said, I’m gonna tell y’all this story. I said it before, but I’mma say it again. I was in the gym. I wanna say I was getting ready for Chris Diaz or something, and he was sparring like a heavyweight fighter. I’m looking. I’m type nervous for him. I’m like, ‘Why is he in the ring with this big, old dude?’

“And man, I swear he done caught this dude on his chin. Boom! Dude wobbling all around the ring. I’m like, ‘What the f—? How is this dude this strong?’ But it’s like, honestly, Bud is very strong. People don’t realize how strong he is as a fighter and his punching power could carry through the weight classes.”

Alvarez obviously is the more proven puncher against heavier opponents. The Mexican icon has won a light heavyweight title bout by knockout against Russia’s Sergey Kovalev and has won four super middleweight championship matches inside the distance.

The 26-year-old Stevenson, a lightweight contender from Newark, New Jersey, is certain, though, that Crawford is a better boxer than the undisputed super middleweight champion.

“I think he’ll out-box Canelo,” Stevenson said. “I think Canelo is a hell of a fighter. I don’t take nothing away from him, but I just think Bud is a better boxer.”

The 33-year-old Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) is expected to return to the ring May 4. His opponent hasn’t been chosen, but Crawford has lobbied for consideration.

Terence Bud Crawford

Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) is contractually obligated to an immediate rematch with Errol Spence Jr. It is possible, however, that Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) won’t remain committed to that second fight with Crawford if the undefeated, undisputed welterweight champ demands that it be contested at their division’s 147-pound limit.

The 36-year-old Crawford stated in the immediate aftermath of his ninth-round stoppage of Spence on July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas that he was willing to move up to the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds for their rematch. Crawford, who by winning their fight gets to dictate the contracted weight for their rematch, has since indicated that he wants to oppose Spence at 147 pounds again.

Stevenson, meanwhile, is preparing for a fight against Dominican southpaw Edwin De Los Santos on November 16 in Las Vegas.

ESPN will televise the 12-round, 135-pound championship bout between Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) and De Los Santos (16-1, 14 KOs) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They’ll fight for the vacant WBC lightweight title.

Deontay Wilder has made his prediction ahead of a potential super-fight between undisputed super-middleweight championDeontay Wilder has made his prediction ahead of a potential super-fight between undisputed super-middleweight champion, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, and widely accepted pound-for-pound number one, Terence Crawford.

Crawford called out Canelo after defeating Errol Spence Jr for the undisputed welterweight title in a bid to become a three-weight undisputed champion after also holding all four belts at super-lightweight in 2017.

To make it happen ‘Bud’ would need to make an unprecedented three-weight jump, but a win would cement his place as one of the sport’s greatest ever fighters.

Canelo hasn’t shied away from the call-out, but believes he has more important things to take care of.

Should that ever change, former heavyweight world champion Wilder told ES News he backs his countryman to come out on top and achieve greatness.

Wilder believes ‘Bud’ would refuse to show Canelo the respect that previous challengers have and would take the fight to the Mexican.

It never mattered how many times Gervonta Davis warned Ryan Garcia, the widely popular super lightweight contender simply wouldn’t listen.

For years on end, the 25-year-old told all who would listen that he had what it took to not only beat Davis but to make it look incredibly easy. This past April, he was given the opportunity to prove that he wasn’t all talk.

In order to get Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) in the ring, he was forced to acquiesce to a few uncomfortable demands. The biggest hurdle during their conclaves was the weight discrepancy. Having moved up to the 140-pound division, Garcia wasn’t interested in moving back down. But, with Davis budging just a smidge, Garcia accepted a 136-pound catchweight. He also agreed to a 10-pound rehydration clause.

It wasn’t what he wanted, but Garcia knew it was the only way to get his man in the ring. The opening round was relatively competitive but Davis took complete control from the second round on.

Gervonta-Davis

Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) was kissing the canvas in the second period. He picked himself up off the mat but Davis began putting it on him. In the seventh, what seemed like an innocuous body blow, turned out to be the fight-ending shot as Garcia was unable to beat the count.

Now, Garcia is attempting to pick up the shattered pieces and carry on. December 2nd is a date he officially has circled on his calendar as Oscar Duarte comes to town. Although his focus is fully on the hard-hitting contender, Garcia went down memory for a moment.

Losing to Davis wasn’t something he enjoyed but Garcia is comforted by a few factors that were out of his control.

“It didn’t shake me on my confidence, not too much,” admitted Garcia to Morning Kombat on the Davis loss. “I didn’t feel like I wasn’t at my best in that fight. That’s why it feels like the loss didn’t sting that bad.”

In a sport like boxing, where legendary matchups seem as elusive as a unicorn riding a rainbow, Shakur Stevenson has dropped a bombshell of optimism about a potential matchup. ‘Sugar’ Stevenson is all set to take on his upcoming opponent, Edwin De Los Santos, on 16 November in T-Mobile Arena, Sincity. However, that’s not the fight, fans and experts alike have been waiting for quite some time.

America’s Favorite Video Today

The boxing community has collectively shown extreme anticipation for a fight between the Newark native and Gervonta Davis or Devin Haney. While talks of ‘Sugar’ facing Haney came close previously, it fell apart quickly due to a dispute regarding purse split. In a recent turn of events, the Houston resident revealed his optimistic thoughts about a fight with ‘Tank’ happening before a fight with the ‘Dream.’ But the question remains – what is the reasoning behind his optimism?

Shakur Stevenson claims Gervonta Davis is a competitor

While appearing in an interview with Fight Hype, ‘Sugar’ Stevenson suggested that the Gervonta fight would happen before the Haney fight. “I got a lot more faith in the Tank fight happening before Devin fight,” said Shakur. He hinted at Davis’ competitive spirit, emphasizing ‘Tank,’ like himself, must be itching to prove his superiority.

“I think Tank is a competitor. I know deep down inside he want to prove to the world that he’ll beat me. As well as I want to prove to the world that I’ll beat him,” said Stevenson. Citing that as the reason, Stevenson asserted Davis would definitely fight him. Moreover, when it came to Haney, Shakur asserted that Haney would stay in the 140 division for a long time. “I think he’s going to be at 140 for a long time,” said Shakur.

Stevenson is aiming for three-division champion title

With the fight night approaching quickly, the boxing community is buzzing with utter anticipation to see Shakur in the ring again. However, the fight wasn’t easy to arrange for the Newark native. Several other boxers had previously declined to fight ‘Sugar’ for one reason or the other.

Nevertheless, Edwin stood up for the challenge. According to an article from Boxing FN, Shakur gave him all the credit for accepting the fight. Yet, as far as Shakur is concerned, he is aiming for the three-division champion title. “Watch me become a three-division world champion,” Stevenson said in media reports.

With the anticipation among fans to see Shakur face Davis or Haney in the future, ‘Sugar’ has revealed his optimistic prediction on the topic. Whether his prediction turns into reality is yet to be seen. What do you think about Shakur’s assertion? Do you think the ‘Tank’ fight would happen first?

Deontay Wilder once put Anthony Joshua ‘s ill-fated opponent Jarrell Miller in hospital after concussing him in a brutal sparring session.

Former heavyweight champion Wilder is known for his devastating punching power, with all but one of his 43 professional wins coming by knockout. Miller was once a legitimate heavyweight contender and was supposed to fight Joshua in June 2019, but his career went downhill after multiple failed drug tests for banned substances.

Wilder had been taunted by Miller before his former coach Jay Deas brought him in to spar ‘The Bronze Bomber’ and he made him pay for his words. “That dude was taunting me for everything I did bro. I was like, ‘I’m trying to make a name for myself,’ and he was already hating. Then one day Jay Deas booked him to come and spar with me for a fight and I didn’t even know it,” Wilder told Blue Blood Sports TV.

“I saw that motherf***er and man, my whole demeanour changed. I said, ‘Oh s***, he came in the lion’s den.’ I didn’t listen to s*** Jay was talking about, I was like, ‘Just put me in the ring, ain’t no need to give me no instructions, I don’t want no water, just ring that bell.’ I couldn’t wait, I was talking the whole motherf****ng spar and beating his ass.

“Sparring is just sparring, but that particular spar – that was a real fight because of the animosity we had against each other. I’ve seen some s*** happen in the gym bro. Especially with concussions, I’ve given so many concussions. You see their reactions, because they start talking crazy and repeating the same s***.

“That’s what Jarrell Miller was doing when he came down here. I concussed him, he went to the hospital and then he’s gonna blame it on, ‘Oh, I was running in the heat,’ and all that s***. He said his cousin came and got him and took him to the hospital. His cousin didn’t come and get him, we took him to the hospital, the motherf***er forgot all that shit.”

Wilder’s last fight took place over a year ago as he knocked out Robert Helenius, who was beaten by Joshua in August, in under three minutes. The American has been pushing for a fight against ‘AJ’ in recent months but has now shifted his focus to either a cage fight or boxing match against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
