In a highly anticipated bout on 22 April 2023, Gervonta Davis solidified his reputation as a leading figure in American boxing by defeating Ryan Garcia.  ‘Tank’ floored Garcia in the second round and ultimately secured his victory in the seventh round with a flawless uppercut to the midsection. This knockout occurred in a packed T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip.

The scheduled 12-round bout had no titles at stake and occurred at a catchweight of 136 lbs. Despite this, the stakes were extremely high. Now, months after his loss, Ryan Garcia has penned down his true feelings for his anticipated comeback. In his recent Instagram story, ‘King Ry’ has cleared his stance as he seeks “vengeance.”

Ryan Garcia reveals why he is “ready to win”

Ryan Garcia says he’s returning to the sport with a strong desire for revenge. In a selfie, where he looks outside of a car as though he is looking ahead to the future, the California native writes, “I’m honestly coming back with a vengeance.” Furthermore, he feels disrespected and claims he’s only been performing at 50% of his potential.

Garcia vows to change the public rumors about his potential. His focus has shifted from caring about social media to solely aiming for a championship. Moreover, he promises himself that he’s ready to win.  As he penned, “Tired of the disrespect. I’m fed up and l’ve been at 50% for so long, it’s going to be different. I promise that to my self. I don’t care about anything but becoming a champion. My eyes used to care about social media and what that did for my career now I don’t care I’m ready to WIN.”

Gervonta Davis

Even while preparing himself for his next challenge, Ryan Garcia is updated with the recent happenings in the boxing world. This is because in a recent tweet he was highly critical of the recent Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis fight.

According to Garcia, Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis was “trash”

Logan Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, fought Dillon Danis, a UFC fighter, on this Saturday. The match took place at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Logan Paul won the bout via disqualification in the sixth and final round after Dillon Danis attempted a takedown for the second time.

‘King Ry’ a former WBC Lightweight division champion, was highly critical of the match. He took to social media shortly after the fight concluded to express his disappointment. Garcia labeled the match as “trash” and “embarrassing” for the sport of boxing. He specifically called out the sports streaming service DAZN, urging them not to air such matches in the future. His exact words were, “This was trash. Leave it on the internet. Dazn don’t put this stuff on again it’s embarrassing.”

Gervonta Davis proves he’s a force in boxing, while Ryan Garcia signals a fierce comeback. Garcia shifts focus from social media to championship goals, promising a new era for himself. Meanwhile, he criticizes the Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis bout, calling for higher standards in the sport. As fans we can only await what Garcia’s prowess has to offer.

Terence Crawford

What sets Terence Crawford apart in the boxing ring

When it comes to boxing prowess, few names resonate as loudly as Floyd Mayweather and Terence Crawford. Floyd Mayweather, often referred to as ‘Money,’ is not just a boxer but an institution. With an impeccable record of 50-0, he’s touted as one of the greatest boxers of all time. His accolades? Numerous world titles in five weight classes, an Olympic bronze medal, and being named the world’s highest-paid athlete multiple times. Beyond his defensive genius, Mayweather’s strategic fight selection has kept him at the zenith of boxing.

On the other hand, Terence Crawford, nicknamed ‘Bud,’ has carved a niche for himself with relentless determination and his recent win against Errol Spence Jr. Holder of multiple world championships in three weight classes, Crawford’s versatility in switching stances and his aggressive offense have left many opponents baffled.

Tyson Fury has made his first public comments about his historic undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk in December.

The fight was announced last month with no venue or date but all sides seemed to agree it has been signed. It will only take place if WBC king Fury gets through his fight with former MMA champion Francis Ngannou on October 28, which on paper he should given that Ngannou will be making his boxing debut.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, former opponent Derek Chisora asks if we will see the fight with WBA, WBO and IBF champion in December, which is reported to have a two-way rematch clause.]

Fury then suggested he would brush aside the smaller man with ease and outlined the weight loss he has been through in his most recent and longest camp

He may be the smaller man but it’s fair to say Fury will need to be fully focussed to deal with the challenge of Usyk as and when it happens.

After a long back-and-forth, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will finally face each other in the heavyweight class. It may happen in December or January. The fight will mark the historic unification of all titles in the heavyweight class. Earlier, negotiations for a fight between them had fallen through, nudging both of them to seek other fights.

While the Ukrainian fighter won against Daniel Dubois in August this year, Fury is set to face off against former UFC champ, Francis Ngannou on the 28th of October in an exhibition fight. Now with the Fury-Usyk fight finally back on track, folks have begun predicting the outcomes of the clash. One of them is the heavyweight fighter, Andy Ruiz Jr.

Andy Ruiz Jr. makes his pick among Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

Most folks believe that Tyson Fury has a clear advantage over Usyk, in regards to Fury’s height, weight, and long reach. Ruiz holds a similar opinion. The heavyweight fighter has picked Tyson Fury as his favorite for the early predictions. He said, “I think for me in my eyes, Tyson Fury could win. He has more skills, more ability. I don’t think Usyk knows how to pressure, throw those combinations. Get close to him, smother him, rabbit punches, all that. But if I fight him, I’m going to be able to do that. A lot of people don’t realize when you fight… when tall guys fight shorter guys, it’s hard. Especially when they move around, it’s hard to hit them, especially they leave themselves open.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn maintains that Anthony Joshua will likely have two fights in the next six months or so.

In a recent interview, the Matchroom head suggested that the former heavyweight titlist from London could return to the ring by December or January against an unnamed opponent.

Hearn also sounded optimistic that Joshua could potentially fight Deontay Wilder next spring, as late as April.

Talk of a Joshua vs. Wilder fight has gone on for the past year but the match-up took a blow after it became clear that backers in Saudi Arabia were unable to come up with the necessary funds to stage that fight in the region.

Hearn has continually maintained that he and Wilder’s advisor, Shelly Finkel, are fielding potential offers from other countries.

“He wants to, he really wants to,” Hearn said of Joshua in an interview with iFL TV. “We’ve been on calls with him all week. There’s a lot happening with the IBF situation. We’ll have to see. I think he’s going to fight in December or January.

“I think the Wilder fight, realistically, is not going to happen until March or April, at the latest. But he wants to fight. He wants to go back to camp and asked us to try and make him a fight for December, whether that spills into January we’ll see.”

Hearn mentioned the possibility of Joshua fighting the IBF No. 1 contender, Filip Hrgovic, in the event that the IBF title becomes vacant. But that possibility has dimmed since the IBF recently declared Otto Wallin as the No. 2 contender for the heavyweight belt. Joshua sits at No. 3.

While Hearn has been sanguine about making Wilder-Joshua, despite the Saudi Arabia fallout, his optimism is not shared by all involved parties. Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, recently poured water over a Wilder-Hearn match-up, saying Joshua has not publicly clamored for the fight enough.

Billy Joe Saunders is back in the media following the announcement of his return to the ring later in the year, and he has had his say on what might happen should Tyson Fury ever face off in the ring with fellow Brit, Anthony Joshua.

Tricky southpaw Saunders hasn’t fought since a crushing loss to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez back in May of 2021. At that point he had already become the first fighter from the Travelling community to win world championships in two weight classes.

First came the WBO middleweight title in 2015, and then the WBO super-middleweight title in 2019 which he went on to lose to Canelo.

For his return, he has said he won’t rush things but wants to have some come back for the big fights and will do so under the stewardship of Matchroom and Eddie Hearn . Though nothing has yet been confirmed, December has been mooted as a possible date for his first fight back.

Anthony Joshua’s and Tyson FURY

Two other men who could be fighting that month are Fury and Joshua. The former could be in an undisputed title bout with Oleksandr Usyk, and it’s understood that ‘AJ’s team are considering a fight to keep him ticking over as negotiations with Deontay Wilder continue.

Should the pair keep winning, an all-British affair is something fans want to see.

Speaking to Upfront with Simon Jordan, the now 34-year-old Saunders came down on the side of his friend, ‘The Gypsy King.’

The hose then suggested some people think Joshua no longer has what it takes to win the big fights because he has got too cautious. Saunders agreed, reluctantly.

There would be no better way than to prove he still has ‘it’ by facing off with hard-hitting Wilder, although Filip Hrgovic has also entered the frame as a potential opponent.

One-time world title holder Andy Ruiz Jr has given his prediction on what would happen should his former opponent Anthony Johsua take on China’s Zhilei Zhang.

Ruiz and Joshua fought twice, the first time back in June 2019 when the Mexican was a late stand-in opponent for Jarell Miller who had failed a drug test in the lead up to the fight in New York. Ruiz knocked Joshua down four times on his way to a 7th-round stoppage win to lift the IBF, WBO and WBA titles.

The rematch came later that year when Joshua boxed a much more disciplined fight, kept at range and won a lopsided 12-round points decision.

Since then Ruiz has fought only twice, taking two unanimous points wins over Chris Arreola and Luis Ortiz, and has been chasing a fight with Deontay Wilder.

In that time, ‘Big Bang’ Zhang has very much got himself into the world heavyweight picture with two impressive wins over Brit Joe Joyce this year.

Gervonta Davis

The first time, his solid left hand damaged Joyce’s eye so badly that the fight had to be stopped, and the second time he knocked ‘The Juggernaut’ out clean in the third round.

Since then he has continued to call out Tyson Fury but also retained his mandatory WBO status so could well fight the winner of Oleksandr Usyk versus Fury next.

Speaking to ESNews, Ruiz was asked what would happen between Zhang and his two-time opponent, ‘AJ.’

Both teams say they are open to the fight, but it doesn’t seem to be high up the list of Joshua’s team. Instead, he continues to pursue Deontay Wilder. It’s a fight Ruiz wants too.

As for Zhang, he wants as big a name as possible.

Curmel Moton defeated Ezequiel Flores on 30 September and kickstarted his professional boxing career with a win. Mentored by Floyd Mayweather and backed by boxing superstars like Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson, Curmel ‘Big Deal’ Moton is a superstar in the making. Earlier this year, Floyd Mayweather attempted to set up a fight between Moton and current WBA Featherweight champion Leigh Wood. However, Wood declined the offer by asserting fighting a 17-year-old doesn’t make sense.

However, that did not stop the young boxer from hoping for the fight to materialize. Regardless of the fight coming to fruition, Moton is determined to stage his comeback to the square ring in November. Recently, Moton took to Instagram, sharing a series of pictures featuring Floyd and himself, with the caption, “Even when the days Arlong I’m still in One Piece.” Seemingly, the young boxer is a “One Piece” fan, as the caption alludes to the animated series. Once the post went live on Instagram, fans quickly took to the comment section to praise ‘Big Deal.’

Mini Floyd Mayweather carves his own niche

At just the age of seventeen and just one professional fight, Moton has become a popular name in the boxing world. To put it into perspective, since the post was shared on Instagram, it has gathered over 27K likes and over 200 comments.

One user wrote, “The future of TMT is in good hands.” The user asserted Floyd Mayweather’s promotional company, The Money Team Promotions, is in safe hands with Curmel Moton. The user’s convection stems from their belief that Moton has the knowledge, skills, and dedication to become the face of the company.

Someone else wrote, “When u walkin out with a straw hat?” The user picked up on the caption Moton wrote alluding to the animated series “One Piece.” The Straw hat remark refers to the main character in the series, known for his iconic straw hat.

Another user wrote, “Good photos, friend. You are a great fighter. I know that one day, you will become a champion. And you will be one of the best greetings from Chile.” In their praise of Moton’s photos, the user expressed their belief in Moton’s potential to become a great fighter. The user even asserted that Moton is destined to become a champion while sending wishes from Chile.

One user wrote, “You the next best fighter right now. Keep up the hard work and humble attitude. You on your way to greatness, champ.” The user confidently asserts that Moton is the best in the current generation while asking Moton to keep working hard because he will be great one day.

While Moton’s fight with Wood might not be in the cards right now, they are destined to meet in the ring sometime in the future. However, the responses from Moton’s fans indicate he has their complete support. What do you think about Moton?

Keyshawn Davis is never short on confidence or motivation to excel in the pro ranks.

Of course, he needn’t look any further than his own gym for the ultimate boost in both categories, given the current status of stablemate Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford.

Davis found plenty of inspiration from Crawford’s legacy-cementing ninth-round stoppage of Errol Spence (28-1, 22KOs) in their July 29 undisputed welterweight championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Crawford spent more than five years in pursuit of the fight since he won the WBO welterweight title in 2018, and was forced to outlast the harshest forms of industry resistance to land the fight and ultimately shine in dominant fashion.

“After that Spence win, Bud got everyone’s confidence sky high,” Davis told BoxingScene.com. “He got everyone knowing and believing that once we get that opportunity for us, we know how we want to perform.

“He just got everyone believing this can be done. We can make this happen, we can be legendary.”

Davis (9-0, 6KOs) is presented with the opportunity to show up and show out in his scheduled ten-round lightweight bout versus Nahir Albright. The two meet this Saturday as part of an ESPN show headlined by the Janibek Alimkhnauly-Vincenzo Gualteri WBO/IBF middleweight unification bout from Fort Bend Epicenter in Rosenberg, Texas.

Terence Crawford

The bout is the third of the year for Davis, a brilliant 24-year-old southpaw from Norfolk, Virginia who claimed a Silver medal during the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It is first ring appearance since Crawford’s incredible showing versus Spence atop their Showtime Pay-Per-View event which saw Crawford (40-0, 31KOs) become a true lineal champion in his third weight division and two-division undisputed champ.

It came more than a year after Crawford ended his ten-year relationship with Top Rank, against whom he filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit on grounds of Breach of Contract and Fraudulent Misrepresentation.

Top Rank currently promotes Davis, who is trained by the same brilliant team behind Crawford—Esau Dominguez, Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre and Red Spikes. All have taught Davis that hard work will eventually pay off, though an even greater lesson has been absorbed from witnessing the switch-hitting pound-for-pound great in action.

“Terence Crawford has the strongest mentality of anyone I’ve ever been around,” Davis insisted. “I’ve never seen anyone with his mindset. Boxing is 90 percent, 95 percent—whatever you want to say, that much of it is mental. He just got that edge, nobody can match him. Nobody can break him.

“What he has shown us is that if we put in that amount of work, as much as him or even more than him, then we know the outcome to any fight. We’ve seen it coming for years, even before. Me, Shakur [Stevenson] and everyone got to see it coming for years. That night was just a beautiful night for everyone in our circle.”

Former unified heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz Jr has weighed in with his prediction for a potential mega fight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Despite the fact there are a whopping three weight classes between the two undisputed champions, talk of a meeting has gained traction over recent weeks and months, with both men stating they would be up for the task.

However, in a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Ruiz implored Crawford to “stay away from Canelo.”

Though it would undoubtedly be one of the biggest fights of this generation, talk of Alvarez vs Crawford has cooled significantly following the Mexican’s dominant showing against former undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo – a significantly bigger man than Crawford.

Terence Bud Crawford

‘Bud’ has more pressing issues at hand anyway, with a rematch with Errol Spence Jr in the offing for February after Spence triggered a contractual rematch clause, though it is unclear what weight this will take place at.

Most fans want to see Alvarez in with WBC Interim champion David Benavidez next, with Benavidez having long been considered his biggest threat at 168lbs.

However, ‘The Mexican Monster’ must get past two weight world champion Demetrius Andrade next month if is to have a hope of landing a career high payday against the Guadalajara icon.
