Having a painfully difficult childhood shaped Terence Crawford into the boxing sensation that he is today. The undisputed Welterweight champion grew up in a neighborhood in Omaha where from a young age, his mother, Debra Crawford made sure he was filled with rage which he would eventually channel into fights. His father, Terry Crawford, however, was his best friend.

Now that the angry child is all grown up and has bagged multiple championships, he is looking for ways to repay his parents and keep them happy and comfortable. On his father’s birthday, Terence presented him with a truck.

Terence Crawford celebrates his father’s birthday with a unique gift

Growing up, a young Terence saw his parents drink and argue often. While his mother was more of a ‘tough love’ person, his dad was his comfort space. His dad was always proud of him and would let a 2-year-old Terence hit his arms. His dad, however, did not stay very often at their home and it would break the child’s heart every time he left. Senior Crawford came forward and extended his support for his son in his last fight against Errol Spence Jr. In an interview, he said Terence is a man who does not get hit if he does not want to. He was impressed with the discipline and humility his son showed. The said fight added a whopping $21 million to Terence’s pocket.

Tyson Fury is widely acclaimed as one of the most entertaining and dominant heavyweight boxers in history. As he gears up for an exciting cross-sport showdown against former UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou. The fight has generated significant buzz. Surprisingly, Fury has also agreed to terms for a bout with Oleksandr Usyk, which is reportedly set to earn him around $200 million. In the midst of these developments, fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has accused Fury of avoiding a match in a recent DAZN interview.

The Gypsy King‘ and Joshua, hailing from England, have been long-standing rivals. They’ve also engaged in discussions about a fight that never came to fruition. Now, Joshua faces a prolonged wait, as Fury is currently focused on the Ngannou and Usyk bouts.

Anthony Joshua accused Tyson Fury of ducking their fight

Tyson Fury is reportedly scheduled to fight Oleksandr Usyk on 23rd December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight is likely to have Fury’s WBC heavyweight title on the line and in addition Usyk’s WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight titles. The winner of the match will be crowned the undisputed heavyweight world champion.

Veteran boxing promoter Bob Arum recently disclosed in an interview with ESNews that Tyson Fury will be aiming to generate approximately $200 million from his upcoming fights.

Perhaps, this might be the reason he chose Usyk, but Anthony Joshua is not happy. Joshua recently sat down with British YouTuber, Boxer, and Rapper KSI for an interesting interview on Dazn Boxing’s YouTube channel.

During the interview, Joshua claimed that Fury was ducking a fight with him. He said:

tyson fury and oleksandr usyk

In spite of accusing Fury of ducking their fight, Joshua was still backing his foe, Fury to outwit the Cameroonian-French heavyweight MMA fighter.

Joshua backed Fury to beat Ngannou

Francis Ngannou will take on Tyson Fury on October 28th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A large section of the combat sports community is leaning towards a Fury victory due to his boxing experience and prowess.

Despite sharing rivalry with Fury, Joshua still favors his British counterpart to win the fight as well. Noteworthy fighters such as Khabib Nurmagomedov, Andrew Tate, Michael Jai White, and others have also joined the bracket by predicting Ngannou’s defeat.

Ngannou has received assistance from legends like Mike Tyson in his preparations for the upcoming fight. Therefore, it remains to be seen if he can pull off an upset against one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

As the former UFC heavyweight champion known for his devastating knockout power, excitement among fans for the fight is palpable. Given his achievements in the octagon, some argue that ‘The Predator‘ deserves a shot in the boxing ring.

Hence, it’s crucial for the boxing community to embrace athletes from different sports trying their luck in the boxing arena. It can lead to thrilling matchups like Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have signed to make history in the boxing ring, crowning the first four-belt heavyweight champion and the first undisputed fighter in the division since Lennox Lewis.

Fury brings the WBC belt to the table against Usyk’s IBF, WBA and WBO, and the pair will reportedly meet in Saudi Arabia in early 2024.

Predictions vary for the fight, but many point to the sheer size of the Brit being too much for Usyk, who has fought most of his professional campaign down at cruiserweight.

Former two-weight world champion turned pundit, Carl Frampton, is backing Fury to win, but believes it’s unfair just to put it down to his extra bulk. He gave his prediction to Boxing Social.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr

The two champions are undefeated and have impressed boxing fans worldwide with their skills as well as grit in the face of danger – the hope is that their fight will deliver on both.

Usyk counts his preparation as a stoppage win over Daniel Dubois in Poland, whilst Fury’s latest outing will be a crossover event against former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Francis Ngannou.

The undisputed date will be announced after that fight, and it’s said to be dependant solely on how quickly Fury can properly prepare.

Anthony Joshua may not receive a vacant IBF heavyweight world title shot as a result of the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk deal after all.

It was announced last week that Fury and Usyk have signed contracts for an undisputed clash, which is eyed to take place on December 23 or in January.

The pair will unify all four of boxing’s major heavyweight world titles when they meet, as the Brit owns the WBC crown while the Ukrainian holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.

However, it’s now been reported that they have also agreed a two-way rematch clause.

This all-but guarantees a second fight between them, as it allows the loser the contractual right to force a rematch.

Anthony Joshua

But if Fury vs Usyk II does indeed happen, then it will seemingly not be for the undisputed crown for a second time.

IBF mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic is already overdue for his world title shot and will get his opportunity.

The sanctioning body have now sent letters to both Fury and Usyk confirming that the winner of their fight will be ordered to defend against the dangerous unbeaten Croatian next with no exceptions.

This means that the Fury vs Usyk winner will almost certainly be stripped of the IBF heavyweight world title before their second clash.

At first, it looked as though this may open the door for Joshua.

has floated the idea that Anthony Joshua could fight on the same night as Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Uysk’s four-belt unification clash.

The two heavyweights signed contracts to set up the undisputed championship fight last week, and the fight will take place in Saudi Arabia.

The hotly anticipated clash will come hot on the heels of Fury’s fight with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in October, with reports hinting that the date could be either December 23, or January 2024.

Boxing fans could find themselves treated between another high-profile bout on the night, with the rescheduled meeting of Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr also tipped to be on that same night.

Eubank and Benn were due to meet in 2022 before Benn failed two drugs tests ahead of the meeting.

The 26-year-old was cleared by UKAD over the two positive VADA tests this July.

But as per the Sun, Hearn suggested that the night could also feature a fight for Joshua, as negotiations over when AJ will face American rival Deontay Wilder continue.

“It could go on December 23, maybe even as well.

“December 2 is a fantastic card that we’re announcing on Saturday night for Britain and 23rd is our date for Benn-Eubank.

Anthony Joshua

And I truly believe that fight will get made for that date.’

Facing a clash between Benn-Eubank and Fury-Uysk, Hearn demurred as to what could happen if the latter also opted for the late-December night.

Look if we get the Eubank fight made, we will go December 23rd. Because we will have to announce that in the next two weeks.

“I don’t know whether they’re going to go December 23rd, maybe there’s some conversations with them before we announce our fight.

“But that’s our date and whilst the other fight is not announced there’s a good chance we’ll go straight up and announce.

“But we’ll have to see. Obviously, we don’t want to go on the same night, it doesn’t make sense for either fight. But we’ll see.”

On the subject of Joshua facing off with Wilder, which Hearn previously talked up as an opportunity for the British fighter to ‘knock out’ the Bronze Bomber, the promoter suggested the venue could either be ‘Vegas or Wembley’.

“I think both guys actually genuinely want the fight and when you get fights like Fury-Usyk made it does give everybody a little nudge to say,

The showdown boxing fans have been calling for has finally been signed and the heavyweight division will soon crown one ruler after Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk put pen to paper for their undisputed clash.

Just as hopes had started to fade that the fight might never materialise, it was announced that both parties had a agreed a deal to face off during Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia.

One man with a better insight than most is popular British heavyweight Dave Allen. Allen has been a sparring partner to both Fury and Usyk in the past and has now given his prediction to Boxing Social ahead of the fight.

Some fans are still skeptical that the two will actually step inside the ropes and won’t fully believe it until the first bell rings.

tyson fury and oleksandr usyk

Another potential stumbling block lies in the form of former UFC champion, Francis Ngannou. The MMA star takes on ‘The Gypsy King’ on October 28 and has vowed to derail any Usyk plans by knocking out the current WBC champion.

Fury’s inactivity isn’t ideal preparation for what many predict will be the toughest test of his career so far, having fought just once in the last 12 months with that being a one-sided beatdown against Derek Chisora. Former super-middleweight champion, George Groves, believes Fury’s lack of top level opposition in recent years will prove costly against the quick-footed Ukrainian.

Usyk was last in action defending his unified titles against Daniel Dubois, stopping the Brit in the 9th round after a controversial low blow moment which floored the former cruiserweight champion and has raised questions about a potential weak spot.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have delighted boxing fans by announcing that the undisputed heavyweight title fight is signed.

The two champions have taken their time in doing so, especially given the contest was promised late last year.

It’s taken the involvement of Saudi Arabia and its pot of money to get it over the line, and the fight is said to land as early as this December, although early next year is more likely.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr

Stepping into the ring, Usyk’s last three opponents are Anthony Joshua twice and Daniel Dubois. Fury has Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora and, assuming all goes to plan, MMA fighter Francis Ngannou, on his list.

It’s something former super-middleweight champion, George Groves, believes will be the difference come four-belt fight night. He spoke to Grosvenor Sports.

Outside of Fury’s preparation, Groves believes the Ukrainian is just the better fighter.

Fury faces Ngannou on October 28, and the Usyk fight is expected to get a solid date not long after.

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder once appeared destined to stand across from one another in the squared circle.

Several months ago Matchroom Boxing chairman, and Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, was brimming with confidence about the likelihood of the heavyweight slugfest taking place.

But a sharp turn of events has seen Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder collapse, and Hearn has now explained why.

During a recent interview with Seconds Out, the Matchroom Boxing chairman stated that the initial offer from Saudi Arabia to host the heavyweight clash had been withdrawn, leading to a fallout of the fight.

He said:

Boxing has become infamous for being unable to book fights among its biggest stars.

But with Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s merry-go-round of negotiations seemingly coming to an end following the announcement of their fight, hopefully, Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder can follow suit.

Eddie Hearn scoffs at the idea of Anthony Joshua vs Joe Joyce

On September 23, Joe Joyce faced off against Zhilei Zhang in an immediate rematch of their clash earlier this year.

Zhang once again walked away victorious, although this time in a far more brutal fashion. Joyce was stopped via TKO in their first fight but was knocked out cold in their second clash.

Following the bout, several members of the boxing community have called for Joe Joyce to retire. But given his English nationality, there have been talks in the past of a potential clash with Anthony Joshua, in what would be an all-British affair.

Eddie Hearn was recently asked about the possibility of ‘AJ’ versus Joyce, and the Matchroom Boxing chairman could not have made his feelings any clearer. He said:

British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua could have a shot at the vacant IBF heavyweight world title after Tyson Fury’s agreed deal to fight Oleksandr Usyk created an opportunity for the 33-year-old.

Fury and the Ukrainian announced last week they would take eachother on in a battle for the undisputed heavyweight champion, due to be held either on December 23 or in January.

Between them, the pair hold all four of men’s heavyweight world titles with Fury the current WBC champion and Usyk holding WBA, IBF and WBO belts.

However, after ESPN reported there was a two-way rematch clause confirming a second bout between the two, it opens up a possibility for Joshua to fight for the IBF title.

The rematch clause will allow the loser of Fury versus Usyk to force a second fight, but this will not be an undisputed bout.

Gervonta Davis

16-0 Croatian Filip Hrgovic is the current IBF mandatory challenger and is already overdue his shot at the title.

The winner of the first fight between Fury and Usyk has been ordered by the sanctioning body to defend against the dangerous unbeaten Croatian next, with no exceptions.

With the rematch clause meaning the two greats will fight again, Hrgovic will have to fight the next best ranked contender for the IBF world title and currently, this is Joshua who is coming off the back of a brutal knock-out win over Robert Helenius.

At present, Joshua is trying to negotiate a fight with American powerpuncher Deontay Wilder, with promotor Eddie Hearn even hinting this bout could happen on the same night as Fury versus Usyk.

However should this not come through, Joshua could take on Hrgovic for a world title belt.

Hearn, who said the much talked about Joshua-Deontay Wilder fight is much bigger added that the Hrgovic fight comes with a world title.

“You saw yesterday, the IBF, basically saying that, he’s going to fight Filip Hrgovic for the world title,” Hearn told Boxing Social.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out. He is desperate to become a three-time heavyweight champion, and I believe he’s gonna do it. We’ve got the Wilder fight, there’s a lot to think about. But that news certainly changes things.

The former undisputed lightweight champion, Devin Haney, has declared that he is prepared to do whatever it takes to continue his run of blockbuster bouts.

Haney earned the respect of the boxing community when he twice travelled to Australia to challenge for and then defend the four lightweight belts against George Kambosos Jr at such a young age.

‘The Dream’ won via wide unanimous-decisions against the Aussie twice before taking on pound-for-pound superstar, Vasily Lomachenko, in Las Vegas, where he grinded out a much tougher-fought and controversial decision.

Gervonta Tank Davis

Now, Haney is aiming to taking things one step further, moving up to super-lightweight and beginning life at 140lbs against the division’s WBC champion, Regis Prograis.

However, that challenge has not stopped talk of potential fights between the youngster and some of the other poster boys of the 135 scene, in Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Shakur Stevenson.

In an interview with Fight Hype, Haney confirmed that he is happy to face ‘Tank’ when the timing is right and that he is willing to sacrifice in order to make the all-American clash happen.

Davis has 27 knockouts from 29 wins, and is coming off the back of career-best victory over Ryan Garcia.

First, Haney will attempt to become a two-division world champion against Prograis, headlining a card that takes place on December 9 and is available to watch live on DAZN PPV in the US and as a part of the regular subscription for UK viewers.
