Devin Haney disagrees with Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe about it being too soon for a fight between him and Gervonta Davis. Haney thinks that a match between him and Tank is the biggest in boxing right now and doesn’t need to be marinated for years & years in order to extract as much money from the public. The Mayweather Promotions marination model hurts the sport, as it prevents big fights involving the only star in their stable from fighting the opposition that fans want to see him against. Obviously,  they’re assuming that because marinating worked for Floyd with his mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao, it will work with their flagship fighter Tank Davis, who has yet to fight an A-level fighter during his 10-year pro career. Financially, it worked for Mayweather to let the Pacquiao fight marinate until both guys were old. It wasn’t a good deal for the fans, as they paid $100 per household on PPV to watch a boring contest involving a gunshy Manny and Floyd using his normal safety-first style
You have to wonder whether Showtime Boxing would be getting dropped if Tank Davis had been fighting the guys that fans have wanted to see him fight for the last ten years instead of an assortment of old-washed fighters and bottom-barrel-fringe contenders. Some fans believe PBC & Mayweather Promotions are protecting their investment with Tank Davis together most money possible out of him by putting him in against beatable opposition and steering him away from fighters like Haney (30-0,15 KOs)  & Shakur Stevenson until he’s at the end of his career with nothing left. “I’m willing to do what it takes to make the biggest fights happen. I’ve proven that. I’ve signed with other networks and promoters to make the fights happen,” said Devin Haney to Fighthype on whether he would sign with Mayweather Promotions & PBC to get the Gervonta Davis fight. Will Mayweather Promotions let Tank Davis fight Haney if he looks bad & loses to RegisPrograis on December 9th? If they’re willing to match Tank against fighters like Ryan Garcia, a boxer/influencer, and Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, they’ll gladly put him in with Haney if he’s coming off a loss to Prograis.

Gervonta Tank Davis

After all, if they drag their feet any longer, it could be too late to make the fight if Haney loses to Prograis and a couple of other guys at 140. He arguably lost his last fight against Vasily Lomachenko. There are four or five fighters in the 140-lb division that would likely beat Haney and send his career plummeting. “So, we got to see what position I’m in if they were to offer a fight. At times, I could do that, and sometimes, I  couldn’t do that as far as jumping over whatever. “But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make the biggest fights happen. I think so,” said Haney when asked if a fight between him and Tank Davis is the biggest fight in boxing.

Whispers in the boxing realm grow louder. Teofimo Lopez, a master of punches and jabs, is back in the spotlight. Not for a controversy, nor for a bold statement. He’s training. Now, you might wonder, what’s so peculiar about a boxer training? After all, isn’t that what they do? But here’s the twist: a certain tweet has the community abuzz.

America’s Favorite Video Today

Cobra Fade Boxing dropped a hint, a tantalizing tease. The tweet suggests something big, something fans have been yearning for. No, it’s not a new boxing gear endorsement, nor a cameo in a movie. It’s about a face-off. A battle. And not just with any opponent. Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis might be in the opposite corner. Vegas might host this spectacle, and it’s closer than you think.

Teofimo Lopez’s announcement of his retirement from boxing came as a shock to many. Fans had seen him at the pinnacle of his career, delivering punches, jabs, and memorable moments. Despite hanging up his gloves, Lopez remains an active voice in the boxing community. Particularly, his interactions with other notable figures haven’t faded a bit.

Among those he’s engaged with, Gervonta Davis stands out. Lopez has been vocal about his criticisms, mainly targeting Davis’s negotiation tactics. He’s not merely throwing shade; his words carry weight and reflect deeper industry concerns.

But here’s where the plot thickens. Amidst this verbal back and forth, there’s buzzing news that the two might face each other in the ring. Reports are hinting at ongoing negotiations for a potential showdown between Lopez and Davis next year.

An avid follower hinted that Davis might soon lose his undefeated status.

In weaving together the narratives of Lopez’s surprising retirement, his unabashed critiques, and the electrifying possibility of a matchup with Davis, one can’t help but feel the palpable energy in the boxing sphere. As the whispers of negotiations grow louder and as fans passionately share their viewpoints, the anticipation surrounding this potential face-off builds.

Could this bout redefine the landscape of contemporary boxing? So, do you think this potential bout will live up to the escalating hype? The ring awaits your verdict.

Eddie Hearn has weighed in on Anthony Joshua’s surprising recent link up with Tyson Fury’s former trainer Ben Davison.

Reports emerged over the past few days that Joshua had spent time working with Davison at his gym, leading fans to speculate over the relationship between Joshua and his trainer Derrick James.

Anthony Joshusa

Speaking to Boxing Social, Hearn explained that Joshua is “100%” still with James, however added that Davison is a “fantastic coach” who is helping ‘AJ’ sharpen his tools ahead of a potential end of year fight.

Joshua’s next fight is up in the air the moment, after the disappointing news that a cross Atlantic blockbuster with Deontay Wilder, which had been tipped to land in Saudi Arabia, will unlikely be next.

Joshua has made it clear he wishes to stay active and wants to stick to his plan of fighting three times this calendar year, with hopes he could be back out this December.

The Matchroom Boss has expressed a willingness to look to revisit the Wilder fight at another international location, though it is unclear how much progress has been made on this front.

Carlos Takam believes Francis Ngannou’s power stacks up to Anthony Joshua.

‘The Predator’ is set to make his boxing debut later this month in Saudi Arabia. There, he will face Tyson Fury in a pay-per-view non-title affair. Ahead of the bout, Ngannou is expected to be a massive underdog.

Furthermore, ‘The Gypsy King’ is so sure of his impending victory, that he’s booked a December bout with Oleksandr Usyk. To help spring the massive upset, Ngannou famously brought in Mike Tyson to coach him.

Furthermore, he’s working and sparring with names such as Carlos Takam regularly. The 42-year-old was even seen at Ngannou’s open workout earlier this month. There, the two did some very light sparring, showing the PFL fighter’s technical ability.

During a recent interview with The Mayweather Channel, Takam was asked to compare Ngannou’s power to Anthony Joshua. ‘AJ’ famously defeated the heavyweight contender in 2017, by a highly controversial tenth-round stoppage.

In the interview, Takam indicated that the two were comparable punchers, stating:

Francis Ngannou reacts to Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua

Francis Ngannou is fully prepared to throw a wrench into Tyson Fury’s plans.

‘The Gypsy King’ recently booked a late December bout with Oleksandr Usyk. The fight with ‘The Cat’ will determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis did so over two decades ago.

However, that’s only if Fury will be able to get through the fight unscathed. As of now, the WBC heavyweight champion is expected to do exactly that. Furthermore, Fury’s father has predicted that the bout will be the easiest of his entire boxing career.

Nonetheless, Francis Ngannou is ready to cause some havoc. Backed by Mike Tyson, one can’t blame the former UFC heavyweight champion for feeling confident. On X, ‘The Predator’ reacted to Tyson Fury’s recent fight announcement.

In a post, Ngannou questioned how Fury would be able to fight Usyk, considering his impending medical suspension. While he’s a big underdog as of now, the former UFC champion isn’t lying down heading into his boxing debut later this month.

Although he was an undisputed cruiserweight champion and is yet to lose at heavyweight, not many people seem to be backing Oleksandr Usyk to come out on top in his much-anticipated fight with Tyson Fury – but one former world champion thinks he beats ‘The Gypsy King.’

The fight – announced as signed – is yet to have an exact date or venue confirmed, as first Fury must get through his 10-round fight with Francis Ngannou on October 28 without any cuts or injuries.

Should that bout pass without too much incident, as many expect, then the road will be clear for the first undisputed fight in 24 years as Fury puts his WBC belt against Usyk’s IBF, WBA and WBO.

Speaking to FightHub TV, former WBA lightweight champion Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini says he hasn’t been all out impressed with Fury like many have.

He then detailed why he thinks Usyk will have what it takes to come out on top.

Bob Arum has claimed that Fury will be pocketing somewhere in the region of $200m for the fight. Whether he can add four belts to that pot remains to be seen on the night.

Riddick Bowe has weighed in on Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury.

‘The Cat’ and ‘The Gypsy King’ will clash in December in Saudi Arabia. Well, they will, if Fury is able to get through Francis Ngannou unscathed first. ‘The Predator’ will attempt to score one of the biggest upsets of boxing later this month.

Nonetheless, if the heavyweight title bout happens this December, it’ll be a historic bout. A potential bout between Usyk and Fury would crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis. ‘The Lion’ accomplished that feat well over two decades ago.

However, Riddick Bowe feels that Oleksandr Usyk will likely lose to Tyson Fury. Speaking to Boxing News in a recent interview, ‘Big Daddy’ picked the British boxer to win. However, he did offer some advice to Usyk.

That advice is to train like Evander Holyfield for this fight. ‘The Real Deal’ is a lot like Usyk, having come up from cruiserweight to heavyweight. Up there, he faced off against many monsters that were much bigger than him, including Bowe.

Bowe remembers that trilogy with Holyfield and feels that if Usyk wants to win, he has to emulate his style. In the interview, he stated:

Canelo Alvarez successfully defended his undisputed crown against Jermell Charlo on September 30 by unanimous decision. After the fight, Alvarez claimed to be the best boxer as of now. He even stated that nobody could beat this version of himself. Instantly, the pundits had two contenders ready who they believed could pose a problem for the pound-for-pound king. One is the interim WBC super middleweight champion, David Benavidez, and the other is the undisputed welterweight champion, Terence Crawford.

Both fights are highly anticipated, and both fighters have shown interest in challenging ‘Cinnamon’ for his four titles in the super middleweight division. Alvarez has proven by beating Jermell Charlo that he still hasn’t lost a step in the sweet science. But the fans need more now that the legendary boxing commentator has voiced his opinion about both fights.

Terence Crawford

Sports commentator talks about the potential mega fights of Canelo Alvarez

In a recent interview with Fight Hub TVJim Lampley discussed the possibility of both bouts. At first, he spoke objectively and talked about how one of these fights made more sense than the other. He said, “I think the David Benavidez fight is a logical matchup. I think a lot of people will want to see it, it makes a lot of sense.

He confessed he feels subjectively that he’d want Alvarez to take a fight against Terence Crawford. So, Lampley desires to witness another undisputed vs. undisputed clash. He said, “Terence Crawford is the most violent force in boxing and I don’t think he’s big enough to match with Canelo Alvarez but I think he’d love to have a chance to prove it.” Well, the size is a big thing for Lampley; he even blamed the size difference for Alvarez’s loss against Dmitry Bivol.

In the fiercely competitive world of boxing,  Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, the undefeated champion, faced incarceration after his April bout against Ryan Garcia this year. Now that he’s out of jail, everyone is asking one question: when will the pugilist stage a comeback? Following rumors of a comeback match against Teofimo Lopez in January next year, fans are at the edge of their seat over this massive prospect.

Though these questions and speculations haven’t gone unnoticed by Tank Davis. He recently has been going on a Twitter rampage to reply to all the allegations and speculations on Twitter, and recently gave a brutal reply to a troll who questioned his boxing prowess.

Gervonta Davis was furious over a critic’s comments

Gervonta Davis recently found himself in the midst of a verbal duel. A critic dared to challenge Davis’s reputation beyond his weight class, prompting an immediate response from Tank. Gervonta is not the one to leave trolls unengaged, contrary to the widely acknowledged wisdom of not engaging with them. Criticism emerged, highlighting much discussion about his defense and stating that he doesn’t face opponents of significance. Gervonta left a threatening reply, clearly over the Twitter exchange. Shut up before I have my homie to f*ck ya little ugly a*s gf.”

Following his big win, Gervonta Davis pled guilty to four charges related to a November 2020 accident. He injured four individuals, including a pregnant woman. According to ESPN, he was initially sentenced to 90 days of home detention at his trainer Calvin Ford’s house, but Davis relocated without permission, first to a high-end hotel and then to a new residence. Davis recently got out of  Baltimore jail after spending 44 days in detention. He was incarcerated following a judge’s decision on June 1 this year stating he violated house arrest terms. Consequently, a judge ordered Davis to complete the rest of his sentence in the city’s jail.

Nevertheless, Gervonta Davis illustrates a fighter unafraid to defend his legacy and proudly acknowledges his achievements. He displays unwavering confidence.  The boxing world eagerly awaits his next move, questioning whether he will continue to defy expectations and win more titles with his unmatched skill.

Ryan Garcia steps back between the ropes later this year following his Pay Per View KO defeat to Pound for Pound star Gervonta Davis last spring.

Garcia makes his highly anticipated return in a collision of knockout power against Parral, Mexico’s Oscar Duarte.

The event occurs on Saturday, December 2nd, and is scheduled for 12 rounds in the super lightweight division.

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya looks forward to showcasing Garcia before another mammoth PPV in 2024.

Ryan Garcia returns to boxing’

Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia

“This is one of the reasons fight fans love Ryan. Instead of taking baby steps back after a hard-fought fight, he is returning against a guy with lethal power who doesn’t take a step backward,” said De La Hoya.

“Whoever emerges victorious is immediately in line for a shot against any current world champions. Fans aren’t going to want to miss this one.”

At only 25 years old, “King” Ryan Garcia has skyrocketed to the top of superstardom. He has proven that he is a supreme pay-per-view attraction.

His last fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis in April 2023 garnered more than 1.2 million pay-per-view buys. The headliner generated a $22.8 million gate at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, making it the top five best gates in Nevada boxing history.

Knockouts

One of the most dynamic and exciting boxers fighting today, his fast-paced style, killer left hook, and lengthy roster of knockouts have impressed boxing fans for years.

He has held the WBC interim lightweight title, quickly dispatching top contenders such as Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell.

“King Ry” also holds a victory over Emmanuel Tagoe. Garcia scored a unanimous decision over his rival at the Alamodome in San Antonio last year.

The Golden Boy star wants to put on a show and dispatch his next opponent before moving to more significant tests.

“Let’s go! I am so excited to announce that I will be fighting Oscar Duarte on December 2,” said Garcia. “I’m back and feeling better and stronger than before.

“I wanted Duarte for me and the fans. He’s tough, and I’m ready to give people another show at my best weight again.

“Say whatever you want about Ryan Garcia, but I will always give the fans what they want. Love you. See you December 2 on DAZN. Location and ticketing will be announced soon.”

Garcia vs Duarte

His opponent, “La Migraña,” has become a boogeyman contender in the lightweight division. He holds hunter-killer instincts and defensive skills to match.

Unafraid to go in the pocket with any fighter, Duarte is a resilient bull who has been knocking fighters’ heads off one by one.

His sole loss was in 2019 against Adrian Estrella, which he has avenged with a string of eleven straight knockout victories, the last three including the rugged D’Angelo Keyes, the tough Alex Martin, and veteran Javier Franco.

The powerful Duarte became a professional in 2013. He also has incredible Mexican star power behind him, with award-winning actor, model, and television host Gabriel Soto co-managing his career along with Cancun Boxing.

“I feel thrilled and enthusiastic now that this fight against Ryan Garcia has been finalized. This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Duarte.

“I want to thank Golden Boy for giving me this great opportunity.

“I am very grateful for the support of my entire team. Everyone can expect the very best version of Oscar Duarte. I am ready to win this fight. I will lift the name of Mexico on high.”

More information on the venue, undercard, and tickets will be announced soon. California or Las Vegas could host Garcia’s next fight.

Golden Boy Promotions will stage the fight in association with Cancun Boxing. Garcia vs. Duarte will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN as part of your subscription.

Anthony Taylor has reacted to boxing star Ryan Garcia’s callout of YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI.

‘Prettyboy’ took to Garcia’s Instagram DMs to state that if KSI did not take the fight, he would happily step in to face ‘The Flash’. He said:

Garcia then responded to Taylor’s message by criticizing his boxing skills and saying that ‘Prettyboy’ had not done enough to earn a fight with him. Garcia said:

Taylor then proceeded to challenge Garcia for a fight on a Misfits card and said he would defeat the 25-year-old more impressively than Gervonta Davis did. Taylor said:

Garcia scoffed at the idea of fighting Taylor at a Misfits event. This did not sit well with ‘Prettyboy’ who went on a rant claiming he fought more often than Garcia and was just as well-known as him.

Taylor then offered to fight Garcia at 154 pounds.
