Anthony Joshua has been called out by his former rival Joseph Parker in a bizarrely entertaining video posted on social media. Like Joshua, New Zealand heavyweight Parker has been resurgent in recent months – with impressive wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang putting him right back in contention atop of the rankings.

Both Joshua and Parker now rank as the two top contenders outside of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who are set to fight in a unification bout this summer.

And Parker has made his intentions clear, in an interesting way, with a video being posted to Queensberry Promotions’ social media channels. The 32-year-old is featured painting in the video, a known hobby of his, while lip-syncing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Lego House’. Parker is then seen looking at images of Joshua, and their 2018 fight in which the British heavyweight outclassed him to a comfortable points victory.

The video ends with Joshua and Parker’s heads on logo pieces, with writing reading ‘Joshua vs Parker 2’, before the New Zealander looks at a painting of his former rival.

Parker would pose as a dangerous opponent for Joshua, and one that he could be interested in to assure himself a shot at the heavyweight championships.

Joshua had been rumored to be facing Filip Hrgovic in his next bout, but Eddie Hearn had recently revealed that he the potential opponent would be in line to face the winner of Fury and Usyk – with Joshua waiting for an opponent

Joshua would not fight Parker for a belt, with neither man having a current clear path to fight for a championship, but it would no doubt be his biggest challenge since his losses to Oleksandr Usyk.

Like Parker, Joshua has been resurgent since his defeats – with impressive wins over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

There could be a huge fight later this year.

Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz’s manager has named Gervonta “Tank” Davis as a potential opponent for his fighter in December.

Pitbull became the WBA super lightweight champion when he defeated Rolly Romero last month, and has already been looking ahead to his next match-up, according to his manager, Sean Gibbons.

Gibbons reflected on his fighter’s burgeoning reputation after his recent success.

“Down here, it’s not Beatlemania – it’s Pitbullmania,” Gibbons said, reported BoxingScene.

“People are writing songs for him, creating murals for him. It’s something.”

Gibbons believes that Cruz will be looking at a quick turnaround for his first title defence, with August a potential date.

Manny Pacquiao, Cruz’s promoter, is also looking for the fighter to stay active.

“Manny wants activity, to keep his momentum going,” Gibbons added.

Pacquiao is also keen for a December clash between Davis and Cruz, giving the latter a chance to avenge the defeat from their first meeting.

“December is perfect,” Gibbons continued.

“We’re not chasing Tank now that we have the belt, but everywhere we go, everyone wants to know when we’re fighting Gervonta Davis. He’ll fight. Then Pitbull will fight. And we’ll be ready.

“He’s ready to fight, and the fans are ready to see him again. The fans have spoken.”

Mike Tyson, who is in preparation for his upcoming fight against Jake Paul on Netflix this summer, previously gave his thoughts on the current crop of heavyweight stars.

Mike Tyson gave a fascinating reflection on heavyweight boxing’s biggest stars, including Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and Oleksandr Usyk, back in 2022. The former world champion is preparing for his own return to the ring against Jake Paul on July 20 but has also shared his opinions on boxing’s current stars in recent years.

The six-time heavyweight champion is considered an icon in the sport by peers and boxing fans and has remained in tune with the heavyweight division, where he fought for over 20 years from 1985 to now. He became the youngest heavyweight champion in the world at age 20 in 1986, a feat that remains untouched.

Speaking with Joe Rogan on his podcast two years ago, Tyson praised the current generation of stars, including Joshua and Wilder, who have dominated the division’s new era. Regarding Joshua, Tyson said, “He has never lost hope; he is still learning. That’s why he’s dangerous. Because he’s still f***ing learning.” The British boxer has 28 wins and three losses with 25 knockouts.

“Joshua needs to pick up the pace. He’s got so much potential. He has got to turn those jabs into something,” he continued. “Joshua is no walkover. He’s going to have a beautiful life after boxing. He’s beautiful.”

Joshua’s power punch-hunting methods and inconsistent game plan execution have been criticized throughout his career. He tends to leave himself vulnerable to heavy counterpunches. Many have suggested that the British’s boxers biggest flaw is that the more aggressive he becomes in a fight, the more he will take punishment. Joshua recently picked Paul to defeat Tyson in their upcoming matchup due to an age difference.

Fury’s power and fundamentals have culminated in a nearly flawless record [34-0-1] with two wins against Wilder in their high-profile trilogy. The lineal champ will defend his undisputed heavyweight championship against Usyk in an upcoming contest billed “Ring of Fire” on May 18, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tyson said about Fury: “It’s weird to take him seriously because he’s so funny. He doesn’t take fighting seriously; he laughs at people, licking the blood. What’s wrong with this guy? You’ve got to be out of your mind.”

For Usyk, Tyson admired the Ukrainian fighter’s quickness, precision, and elite movement. The undefeated technical fighter holds back-to-back wins over Joshua, with the first earning the WBA [Super], IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.

Tyson said: “Usyk is very hard to hit, he has that elite amateur level movement. It was too much for Joshua.”

In the boxing arena, whispers can become roars overnight. When Mike Tyson speaks, the murmurs escalate faster.

Recently, on a seemingly ordinary podcast episode, Tyson dropped a name bombshell. Jake Paul, the internet sensation turned boxer, and Terence Crawford, the welterweight maestro. An odd pairing? Absolutely. A ticket-seller? Without a doubt.

The mere hint of such a face-off has fans and skeptics raising eyebrows and asking questions. But why would Tyson, a boxing legend, suggest such an unusual match-up? Could this be just another media gimmick, or is there a deeper strategy at play? Dive in as we unpack Tyson’s unexpected teaser and explore the frenzy it has unleashed.

Jake Paul’s boxing journey has been filled with unexpected turns and audacious call-outs. Fresh off his dramatic victory against Nate Diaz, Paul’s transition from an internet provocateur to a legitimate contender in the ring has grabbed global attention.

Notably, Paul hasn’t just set his sights on MMA fighters. He has brazenly called out boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez on multiple occasions, adding fuel to the fire regarding his ambition and audacity.

However, it was his bout against Diaz, a seasoned, mixed martial artist, that truly showcased Paul’s evolving skills, tenacity, and determination. And just as discussions about his Diaz win were at their peak, an intriguing twist arose.

Anthony Joshua showed off his kickboxing skills during a gruelling training session on Monday.

AJ is currently ticking over in the gym after dispatching former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou inside two rounds in his last outing in March.

The Cameroonian cage fighter had caused Tyson Fury all kinds of problems during their nip-and-tuck affair five months prior.

However, Joshua faced no such challenges as he dropped Ngannou twice before sending him down and out with a clubbing right hand.

The finish was incredibly conclusive but after witnessing Joshua throwing some kicks on the pads in training earlier today, fans want to see the heavyweight titans rematch in MMA.

Reacting to the video, which was uploaded to Joshua’s Instagram story, one fan wrote: “Bro is coming to finish Ngannou off in MMA.”

Another tweeted: “Rematch with Ngannou but MMA this time.”

A third added: “Might as well go to MMA and KO Ngannou.”

But not everyone was as impressed with what they were seeing.

One supporter remarked: “That’s horrific.”

Another wrote: “Looking stiff asf.”

Meanwhile, a third added: “Can see the kick, cook a full five-course meal, go to sleep, wake up, go to work, come back and then dodge it.”

Joshua recently confirmed that he will return to the ring in September.

The Watford powerhouse had hoped to fight again in June but it appears his team are holding out for something big later in the year.

Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, announced last month that he is planning a ‘huge’ boxing show at Wembley in September – and logic suggests AJ could be part of that card.

It is unclear who his opponent will be but his promoter, Eddie Hearn, insists it will be for a version of the world heavyweight title.

That could mean Joshua fighting for the soon-to-be-vacated IBF title or boxing the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Fury if the loser accepts a step-aside fee to let it happen.

Oleksandr Usyk has revealed he has taken advice from Wladimir Klitschko ahead of his undisputed clash with Tyson Fury.

Klitschko lost his world titles to Fury in 2015 when he was outpointed by the Brit in Dusseldorf. A rematch between the rivals was scrapped the following summer when Fury pulled out before he was later stripped of his titles.

He went on to win another world title when he beat Deontay Wilder in 2020 and will attempt to win back the other three when he takes on Usyk in Saudi Arabia on May 18. Usyk has a close relationship with compatriot Klitschko and has been in contact ahead of his showdown with Fury.

“Yes, we have spoken with Wladimir. He gave me advice but it’s secret!” he told Seconds Out. Fury and Usyk were due to meet in February but Fury suffered a cut in sparring, forcing the clash to be moved back three months.

The heavyweight rivals have a rematch clause in place which could see them clash again later this year. The winner could then take on Anthony Joshua who recently stopped former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in the second round.

Joshua is expected to return to action in September, likely against the winner of Daniel Dubois ‘ proposed clash with Filip Hrgovic on June 1. That fight is likely to be for the IBF title which offers Joshua the best chance of becoming a three-time champion.

Asked about his next fight, Joshua told The Jonathan Ross Show : “Around September is when I’ve been told. I was hoping June. I’ve got some time to go on dates now and mingle a little bit. I’m training at the minute, I’ve got two months before I get into training camp.

“I think what they’re saying is be patient because you’ve got Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for all the belts and then once that’s done hopefully I can kick down the door and get my opportunity.”

Terence Crawford is a name among those who excel in boxing. He has accrued a net worth of $8 million by 2024, as detailed by FanArch. Oleksandr Usyk has insisted there is no bad blood between himself and Anthony Joshua after the latter’s breakdown threatened to overshadow their rematch.

Joshua lost his heavyweight world titles to Usyk in 2021 before falling to defeat again in their rematch the following year. But after his second loss, Joshua threw Usyk’s belts on the ground and stormed out the ring after a passionate and emotional speech.

Joshua later apologised for his actions and has since recorded four victories to thrust himself back into world title contention. He will target the winner of Usyk’s clash with Tyson Fury for all four belts which is due to take place in Saudi Arabia on May 18.

In an interview with the BBC, Joshua said: “Listen, I’m not perfect. It’s not the right thing to have done. I didn’t speak to Usyk but I spoke to Wladimir [Klitschko] and said give yourself a pat on the shoulder and tell him ‘well done and I apologise’, that’s man-to-man.

“But it was just raw, it may not make sense to a lot of people but it made a lot of sense to me and it was just how much it means, to a degree. I thought I would feel like that at the end of my career and when it’s all said and done I’d just be like ‘wow, what a rollercoaster, I made it through the trenches’.”

And when asked by Seconds Out if he accepted Joshua’s apology, Usyk said: “Yes, definitely. Listen, I have no bad feelings about Joshua because I respect this man. He is a great man, a great boxer, an Olympic champion and a two-time world champion. It was emotion and I respect him, no problem Anthony.”

Joshua knocked out former UFC champion Francis Ngannou last month and could be ringside in Riyadh to watch Usyk and Fury meet to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

His route to a clash with the winner has become clearer with the Londoner being lined up to fight either Daniel Dubois or Filip Hrgovic in September before a clash with Fury or Usyk towards the end of the year.

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated bout between Mike Tyson and Jake PaulAnthony Joshua has made headlines by showing his support towards the YouTuber. Scheduled to take place on July 20 and streamed live on Netflix, this bout has garnered significant attention, despite being initially labeled as an exhibition.

Tyson‘s clarification that it will indeed be a fight has only fueled speculation about the outcome. Reports suggest that both fighters may opt for 16-ounce gloves instead of the usual ten-ounce ones, possibly to mitigate the impact of their punches. There’s also talk of the fight being contested over shorter, two-minute rounds.

“This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under,” Tyson noted.

“This is a fight. I don’t think he’s faster than me. I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at [age] 16 doing weird dancing. That’s not the guy I’m fighting.

“This is a guy who’s really going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken. Right now, I’m scared to death. As the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality, and in reality I’m invincible.”

Joshua’s remarks

The age disparity between the two men, with Tyson at 58 and Paul considerably younger, raised concerns among commissions, leading to the match not being sanctioned as a professional fight. Nonetheless, with the event given the green light, Joshua has voiced his belief that Paul holds the edge over Tyson.

“I personally think it’s really good,” Joshua said.

“I think the boxing hardcore don’t like it because they think, ‘Why are they disrespecting our sport? [And] I think that person brings all these people into boxing, which benefits everyone else. Everyone viewing helps. He’s [Mike Tyson] older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul because of youth – that’s the only thing.”

As usual, Gervonta Davis is in the headlines, but not for boxing. The American boxer is training hard to prepare for his yet-to-be-official fight against Frank Martin on June 22. However, it’s his body transformation that has seized the eyeballs, and the fans have gone berserk.

What has the WBA lightweight champion done? He recently uploaded a clip on the internet, and he appeared jacked. He seems to have added more mass to his frame and is lean and ripped. But the fans were not satisfied, as they found a way to mock him. What did they say?

Gervonta Davis maintaining peak fitness ahead of his next fight

Boxing Kingdom uploaded the clip and claimed that the 29-year-old boxer was at 4-5% body fat ahead of his rumored fight. They wrote, “Boxing Star Gervonta Davis absolutely ripped leading up to his bout against Frank Martin. Estimated between 4-5% body fat.”

Fans, who also had some jibes in the store, harshly contested the claim. Notably, many bodybuilders keep the fat percentage close to 5 before tournaments and competitions, as muscles, veins, and striations pop out and are prominently visible. This was not the case this time. So, that became a focal point when fans flooded the comment section.

A fan theorized that Davis was building his body for endurance and preparing for the Frank Martin fight. They said, “He knows he has to box against Frank so he built his body for endurance. Don’t care what anybody says, this is Tank’s toughest opponent ever, and he is respecting it as such, this is gonna be a great fight.”
