Eddie Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing, has set his sights on elevating Conor Benn‘s profile in America. He has recently worked on it as well, by pitting him against Gervonta Davis, a prominent figure in American boxing. Following Benn’s victory over Peter Dobson in Las Vegas, critics voiced disappointment over the lack of a knockout against the lesser-known opponent.

Gervonta Davis

Still, Hearn recognized Benn as the most wanted fighter in America. Moreover, among those critics, even Gervonta Davis slammed Benn for not being able to knock out his opponent and stated he could knock Benn out if they ever stepped inside the ring. As a result, Benn also engaged in a bit of trash-talking, however, this wasn’t appreciated by the boxing trainer Brian Mcintyre. Bo-Mac ‘s comments on the recent developments urged Benn to come up with a swift response, harking back to the former’s jail sentencing last year.

ConorBenn will never back down from verbal warfare!

As the verbal sparring between Conor Benn and Gervonta Davis unfolded, Eddie Hearn started planning for the prospect of a showdown between the two fighters. Amidst the potential excitement for fans, Brian McIntyre, however, didn’t share the enthusiasm. From McIntyre’s perspective, the idea of a significantly larger boxer positioning himself against a smaller opponent like Davis raises concerns.

Gervonta Davis and Conor Benn could be set to clash in the ring, according to Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Hearn is one of the sport’s leading promoters right now and currently operates as the chairman of Matchroom Boxing. His client faced off against Peter Dobson on Feb. 3, a fight which ‘The Destroyer’ won via unanimous decision.

Following the bout, Benn took to X to share a list of names of boxers he would like to face next. Davis’ name was on the list, and it appears the negotiations could be underway to make the fight a reality.

Eddie Hearn was recently interviewed by iFL TV, where he shared a massive update on a potential clash between Benn and ‘Tank’. He said this:

Conor Benn is doing his best to wipe off the dirt that’s covering his name. For the highly-ranked welterweight contender, a failed drug test has many believing that he’s never been a clean fighter. In due time, he’ll have the opportunity to clear his name completely but for now, he’s taking out his frustrations on his opponents.

Fighting stateside is a rarity for the Brit, but Benn enjoyed himself this past Saturday night. At the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada, Peter Dobson willingly stepped up to the plate. Although he talked a good game, Benn smiled widely as he went on to score a lopsided unanimous decision victory.

Typically, fighters like to spend their immediate time soaking it all in. Benn though, isn’t interested in doing that. Simply put, he wants to fight.

Gervonta Davis

At 147 pounds, Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) would love to get his hands on several of the division’s top names. However, Gervonta Davis, who’s never fought above 140 pounds, has grabbed his attention.

To be fair, Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) fired the first shot. He ripped Benn for his recent performance and claimed that he could stop him if they jumped into the ring. Benn, of course, enjoys talking smack. By the time they finished throwing all sorts of threats at one another, both Eddie Hearn, Benn’s promoter, and Davis, stated that a deal was being worked on.

If the two were to get it on, countless fans would tune in. But watching someone who is significantly bigger, position himself for a showdown against a smaller man is something Brian “Bomac” McIntyre doesn’t respect.

From his point of view, Benn needs to leave Davis alone. If he truly wants to fight so badly, he should do the right thing and pick on someone his own size.

“Why would he go down there and pick on guys at 35 and 40?” Bomac told a group of reporters. “Why don’t you mess with those guys at 47 and 54? Call those guys out.”

Conor Benn recently defeated Peter Dobson via unanimous decision, with the Brit going twelve rounds for the first time in his career.

Following the bout, ‘The Destroyer’ called out several of the biggest names at welterweight (147 pounds) and super light (140 pounds), including Errol Spence Jr and Devin Haney.

But, there was a pugilist that Benn shared his interest in facing prior to competing against Dobson, none other than pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford.

‘Bud’ is regarded as one of the best P4P boxers in the world, and became the first male boxer to be crowned an undisputed champion in two weight divisions following his TKO win over Spence Jr. last year.

Crawford’s trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, recently shared his thoughts on Benn’s performance against Peter Dobson during an interview with Fight Hub TV.

Conor Benn and Gervonta Davis have agreed to fight each other next after exchanging verbal blows on social media.

Davis took to social media to mock Benn – who earned a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over little-known American Peter Dobson in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Davis criticised Benn’s performance even though The Destroyer dominated the scorecards 119-109, 118-110, 118-110 during his second fight back.

Benn – who was fighting Stateside for the second time since he failed two drugs tests in the lead up to his scheduled fight with Chris Eubank Jr – snapped back.

The 27-year-old told Davis to make it official instead of trash talking on social media and asked Hearn to help facilitate a deal between them.

Davis took aim at the Destroyer after the 27-year-old took to social media to announce who he would like to share the ring with next.

Gervonta Davis

After his fight with Peter Dobson, Benn took to X to say: ‘Haney, Eubank Jr (not Harry), Spence Brook, Barrios. Any of the above next Eddie Hearn.

Davis decided to mock Benn, replying to his Tweet saying: ‘No funny, the way you looked last night .Give me 3 weeks & a weekend in Turks and yo a** is grass. You hear me!’.

Benn didn’t take too kindly to Davis’ comments and responded by saying: ‘Oh here he is the woman beating munchkin from Oz! Let’s do it next then?’.

Davis was quick to retaliate, saying the following to Benn: ‘Sure why not.. where would you like ya a** whooping at bruv?’.

To which Benn said: ‘Don’t be all talk either you little shrimp! Eddie Hearn, drop the munchkin a DM and get this fight made NEXT. I’m sure he’ll screenshot the conversation anyway so we will see who’s full of shit. See you soon.’

Davis welcomed Benn’s response and Tweeted: ‘I’ll be waiting Eddie Hearn’.

Benn finished off the exchange by writing: ‘Like I said I’m small but this little shit can’t even get on a rollercoaster at Disneyland. Me and you next. I’ll meet you in the centre of the ring and we will see who’s left standing because I’ll knock your head off and send it back to oz. #munchkin’.

However, Davis grew impatient waiting for Hearn’s message and returned to the social media platform to write: ‘Conor Benn, I’m still waiting’.

The Destroyer replied to Davis saying: ‘It’s coming don’t worry. Eddie Hearn slide in before the little fella gets mad and chins his Mrs’.

Promoter Eddie Hearn was quick to respond to the Matchroom boxer, Tweeting: ‘Done’ with a handshake emoji.

Benn replied to Hearn saying: ‘Let’s just wait Gervunpa lumpa to screen grab the conversation’ with a rat emoji.

Davis snapped back by saying: ‘No need, we are all on the same page’ with two emojis including a winking face and a clock.

Benn replied saying: ‘Don’t be all talk either let’s make sure this happens next. Me and you centre of the ring and we will see who’s left standing.’

Hearn couldn’t help by laugh at the situation, taking to X to write: ‘Is there anyone between 140 and 160lb who doesn’t want to fight Conor Benn. Whole World calling his name.. big fight next!’.

Benn agrees with Hearn and claims he is the most wanted fighter in Britain despite his absence from the ring. He told Boxing Social ahead of his fight with Dobson: I’m a promoter’s dream. Now what more do you want me to do?

‘I’m the most wanted man in Britain, the most wanted man in the welterweight division. From [Devin] Haney, from [Kell] Brook, from Eubank, from Gervonta [Davis], from [Josh] Taylor, from [Josh] Kelly.

‘It’s like what more do you want me to do? Even I think [Adrien] Broner once said, then [Manny] Pacquiao. What do you want me to do?

‘I haven’t fought for a year and a half, and I’m still there. Still at the tops of people’s tongues, still at the forefront of people’s minds in these mega fights.

‘It’s frustrating, not because of Eubank, so I couldn’t care less about him. Just a big name, just anyone. Like any one of the name’s mentioned, let’s make it happen.

After coming out of his provisional suspension, Conor Benn secured a unanimous win against Rodolfo Orozco last September. Now, he is on the lookout for his next fight after arranging one with Peter Dobson. Only days are left for fans to see the two throw punches at each other. Jaron Ennis might be the next attractive choice for Benn.

Once holding the undisputed welterweight championship, Terence Crawford, widely recognized as the top pound-for-pound boxer globally, lost his IBF title after he refused to fight ‘Boots’. Subsequently, Ennis was promoted from interim titleholder to the IBF welterweight champion. This is not to say that Ennis is lacking in any manner. Benn himself acknowledges this.

Conor Benn is aware of his limitations

In an interview with FightHype.com, Benn expressed his willingness to fight Ennis. The initial hurdle for Benn involves decisively defeating the formidable Dobson, paving the way for Benn to shift his focus towards renowned opponents. The 27-year-old has made bagging a world title his mission. “I’ve been calling the name and I know you’ve seen me call the name so for me, it’s like Jaron no problem. People saying he’s the boogeyman that everyone’s scared of, you know no one’s scared. No one’s scared here anyway.” said Benn.

Benn is not one of those who are afraid to put themselves out there to take on the bigger challenges. He is also aware of the disadvantage he possesses due to the lack of an amateur career as strong as Ennis but that does not faze him. “So, for me, he’s a great fighter, talented, extremely gifted. You can’t knock that. But for someone who’s had so much amateur experience and someone who hasn’t, I still feel ready for that fight. The pro-game is a different game.” he added. Before anything, Benn is focused on his current fight as is apparent with the verbal jabs the two have been throwing at each other.

Benn makes fun of Dobson’s shoes

Earlier this week, a dramatic face-off unfolded between Conor Benn and Dobson against the backdrop of the iconic Las Vegas sign, overseen by promoter Eddie Hearn. The confrontation escalated into a heated exchange of insults as both fighters engaged in verbal sparring. Benn, visibly agitated, taunted Dobson, accusing him of fear-induced trembling. In a confrontational outburst, Benn urged Dobson to cease shaking, employing explicit language to express his frustration.

He went on to assert that acting on his impulses at that moment would result in his arrest, potentially jeopardizing the scheduled fight. In response, Dobson, undeterred, clarified that his shaking was a manifestation of his eagerness to engage in the upcoming bout, vehemently expressing his desire to fight. The intense exchange set the stage for a highly anticipated and emotionally charged showdown between the two boxers.
