The 2024 Paris Olympics is just 226 days away, and the probable US women’s gymnastics roster is looking as promising as ever. For all the Lionheart gymnasts, the 2023 season has been exhilarating. Since the 2023 US National Gymnastics Championships, the US team, anchored by Simone Biles, has been on a winning streak. Concluding the stellar season with the Pan-Am displays, they’re looking forward to the most-awaited, but with a twist.

At the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, the US women’s team outclassed the other entrants to score 167.729. After that, they made champion strides to score 165.196 for the gold at the Pan-Am Games. Naturally, the roster stands invincible now, but they can still lock horns with each other while eyeing the trophy.

Paris Olympics dream squad

Aimee Sinacola, a gymnastic enthusiast and the creative director of GoDucks, took to her Instagram story to reveal the dream squad. With Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Gaby Douglas and Jade Carey in top 4, the picture of the women is pleasing to the eyes. Among them, the 26-year-old GOAT has already made her mark this season. But Suni Lee, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics all-around gold medalist, is returning after a hiatus.

Teaming up with coach Jeff Graba, Suni Lee is “….taking it day by day,” and her firm tone sounds assertive. It would be no surprise if she poses a potent threat to her competitors, despite underlying issues. Coming to Gaby Douglas, the member of “Final Five” at the 2016 Summer Olympics, has returned to the training mat after a 7-year hiatus. Coach Valeri Liukin had confirmed that she has resumed her practice.

Keeping away from back-to-back competitions may be in favor of the Olympians, since they had adequate time to train. It’s time for the three to make a good spectacle with their acrobatic feats. But the topmost squad member is taking cautious steps this time.

Simone Biles takes careful steps ahead of her big game

The mental health advocate had faced the hardest blow from the ‘Twisties’. Since then, she chooses to keep her mental health forward. So, ahead of the game, she said, “I think we have to be a little bit more cautious about how we do things. So everything that we’re doing leading up to this next Games or whatever is very intentional.”

She further added, “It was just like, go, go, go, and, then, making time after. This time around, it’s like being intentional, going to therapy, making sure everything is aligned so that I can do the best in the gym….”

Outgrowing her excited self was crucial for the Olympian. She gradually realised that taking slow steps can keep both her mental and physical health in check.
