Gervonta Davis’ team are kicking off preparations for ‘Tank’s’ upcoming clash with Frank Martin by studying the Detroit dangerman’s skull.

The unbeaten lightweights have reportedly agreed to face each other for Davis’ WBA 147lb strap in late spring or early summer.

According to ESPN, the matchup will headline a PBC card on Prime Video pay-per-view.

Davis’ coaches Calvin Ford and Kenny Ellis will now begin looking at Martin ahead of the fight.

Usually, this involves combing through hours of fight footage and coming up with a battle plan from there.

But Ellis and Ford have taken the unorthodox approach of studying Martin’s skull density as they size up the 29-year-old’s punch resistance.

“Phase one. Up early studying Frank Martin’s Skull. [He has] very thin Zygomatic bone and a thin muscle layer,” wrote Ellis on Instagram.

“[There’s] Very high maxillary sinus. Man, oh, Man. [He’s a] good kid [with a] good team, though, no disrespect.”

For the uninitiated, the zygomatic bone is one of a pair of bones on each upper side of the face that forms the cheek and part of the eye socket while the maxillary sinus is a hollow space in the bones around the nose.

Ellis’ statement may give an insight into some potential target areas for Davis when he goes toe-to-toe with Martin.

The Baltimore banger is no stranger to shattering bones.

Davis broke Hector Luis Garcia’s eye socket and cheekbone when they squared off in January of last year while he also cracked Ryan Garcia’s ribs in Davis’ last outing 10 months ago.

‘Tank’ has been sidelined since the Garcia fight due to legal issues.

The 29-year-old spent 44 days behind bars after violating the terms of his house arrest.

In May, Davis was sentenced to 90 days of home detention over a hit-and-run car crash in November 2020 that injured four people, including a pregnant woman.

Davis was expected to spend his home detention at his trainer Ford’s house but a judge ruled that he had violated the terms of his house arrest after moving to a hotel and then a new home, without obtaining permission.

He was released from jail in July and is now able to continue his boxing career.

Like Davis (29-0), Martin is undefeated having won all 18 of his professional bouts.

Since making his debut in the paid ranks seven years ago he has been steadily climbing the lightweight rankings and now finds himself ranked No2 with the WBA, whose title he will be fighting for against Davis.

Martin’s resume is considerably thinner than Davis’ but he looks to be a world-level competitor off of the eye test.

Just how good he is will become apparent when he dukes it out with Davis later this year.

In the fiercely competitive world of professional boxing, where every advantage counts, Gervonta Davis and his coaching team are taking an innovative approach to prepare for the upcoming high-stakes fight against Frank Martin. Scheduled for late spring or early summer, this match is not just a showdown between two undefeated lightweights; it’s a testament to the lengths athletes and coaches will go to ensure victory. As Davis defends his WBA 147lb title on a PBC card available via Prime Video pay-per-view, the focus on analyzing Martin’s skull structure for potential vulnerabilities underscores the meticulous nature of fight preparation.

Strategic Analysis: Beyond the Ordinary

At the heart of Davis’ training camp, trainers Calvin Ford and Kenny Ellis are pioneering a novel approach by studying the structure of Frank Martin’s skull, specifically targeting the zygomatic bone and maxillary sinus. This detailed anatomical analysis aims to find areas where Martin might be more susceptible to punches, a strategy that speaks volumes about the evolving nature of fight preparation. Davis, known for his formidable punching power, has inflicted significant injuries on opponents in the past. The focus on such specific anatomical details reveals the team’s commitment to leveraging every possible advantage in the ring.

Overcoming Adversity: Davis’ Journey Back to the Ring

Gervonta Davis’ path to this pivotal fight hasn’t been without its hurdles. His career momentarily veered off course due to legal troubles, including a 44-day jail term for violating house arrest terms related to a hit-and-run incident. These setbacks could have derailed many fighters, but Davis has shown resilience and determination to return stronger. As he prepares to step back into the ring, this fight represents more than just another title defense; it’s an opportunity for redemption and to prove that he remains one of the top talents in the lightweight division.

A Defining Moment for Martin

On the other side of the ring, Frank Martin enters this bout with an unblemished record of 18 professional wins, making him a formidable opponent. Known for his agility and technical prowess, Martin’s performance against Davis could very well define his career. This fight not only offers him a chance to claim the WBA 147lb title but also to make a statement against one of the division’s most powerful punchers. The meticulous preparation by Davis’ camp, focusing on exploiting potential vulnerabilities, sets the stage for a clash that will test both fighters’ skills, strategy, and resilience.

The upcoming bout between Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin is shaping up to be more than just a contest of physical strength and endurance. It represents the pinnacle of strategic planning, the importance of overcoming personal and professional challenges, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in the competitive world of boxing. As both fighters prepare to face off in the ring, the world watches, anticipating a match that will be remembered for its innovation, determination, and unparalleled display of skill.

The highly anticipated showdown between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia throws a curveball, swapping the glitz of Las Vegas for the electrifying atmosphere of Brooklyn. Originally slated for Sin City, the April 20th fight will now take place at the Barclays Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets. Las Vegas, with its reputation for mega-fights and hefty ticket prices, seemed like a natural choice. However, Golden Boy Promotions, representing Garcia, opted for Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

This 19,000-seat arena offers a unique East Coast energy and potentially a different dynamic for the fight. Nobody knows why they went ahead with this certain choice, but Gervonta Davis believes that it happened because of him.

Gervonta Davis fight will now take up the Haney-Garcia slot?

Besides the announcement of the venue shift, a random X account also declared that Gervonta Davis is set to enter the ring again on April 20. They wrote, “@Gervontaa fight on April 20th.” Now, this is the same date when Haney and Garcia will be squaring off against each other.

Gervonta Davis

Interestingly, Davis did not deny this claim. In a now-deleted post, he stated it to be the reason for the Haney-Garcia venue shift, explaining that it was because he was going to fight in Las Vegas on that night. So, he retweeted the post of the fan and hinted that the venue of his next fight could be in Sin City, Las Vegas.

Davis wrote, “You kno why they fighting in ny.

It still can’t be stated clearly whether this was just a way for Davis to take a jab at his two rivals, or was he serious. Well, he could be, since ESPN’s reporter Mike Coppinger has revealed Tank’s next opponent.

Davis might be taking on Frank Martin next

Gervonta Davis is finally ready to rumble again! After a year away from the ring, Mike Coppinger reported that the undefeated lightweight champion is close to finalizing a summer bout against Frank Martin. This highly anticipated clash promises fireworks, marking Davis’ return to the spotlight and a potential test against a tough challenger.

Davis’ last fight in 2023 was a showstopper, a dazzling performance that saw him stop Ryan Garcia in one of last year’s biggest fights. Since then, boxing fans have eagerly awaited his return, speculating his next opponent. Now, it seems the wait is almost over.

It will be interesting to see the WBA titlist finally step foot inside the ring after a long hiatus. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section.

Gervonta Davis was seemingly not offered $25 million to fight Conor Benn as claimed.

‘The Destroyer’ returned to the ring earlier this month, scoring a lopsided decision win over Peter Dobson. For Benn, the victory was just the second since his drug scandal in late 2022. The win also caught the attention of ‘Tank’.

The WBA Super lightweight champion has been out of action since a knockout win over Ryan Garcia last spring. While Davis went on hiatus after that bout, he was interested in facing Benn later this year. The two got into talks, with Eddie Hearn quickly sending an offer to the titleholder.

Gervonta Davis

However, Davis has reportedly moved on from fighting Benn. According to multiple reports, the champion won’t be facing ‘The Destroyer’ next. Those reports quickly led to a rant from Hearn, where he revealed that Davis turned down a $25 million payday.

It seems that the promoter might be embellishing a little bit with that figure. Earlier today, ‘Tank’ took to X in a since-deleted post, showing Hearn’s offer to him via email. In the email, the promoter offered the champion $10 million, as well as some of the gate and pay-per-view revenue.

While that’s a high figure, that’s still not $25 million as Hearn claimed. In the post to X, Davis wrote:

Gervonta Davis took to social media platform X to reveal the offer he had received for a potential bout with Conor Benn.

Benn was last in action on February 3, against Peter Dobson at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, defeating Dobson over 12 rounds to claim a unanimous points win as the 27-year-old Benn continued to rebuild his career following his anti-doping issues, which has seen Benn carry on boxing in the USA.

Following his victory, Benn said he wanted to fight the likes of Chris Eubank Jr, Kell Brook, Devin Haney, and Davis, with promoter Eddie Hearn throwing down the gauntlet to Davis to discuss terms.

Hearn claimed he had submitted a substantial offer which would see Davis earn a career-high payday. However, Davis refused to entertain the offer.

Hearn had reportedly submitted an offer of around $25 million to Davis, but the Baltimore star posted a picture of an email to his followers on X, which showed an offer of $10 million in an email sent to Davis’s representatives.

Hearn wrote in the email to team Davis: “Gervonta asked me to contact you regarding our offer to fight Conor Benn.

“We would like to talk further regarding this fight, and our plan would be to stage this fight in May in the USA. We would offer $10million plus an upside on the gate and PPV that I would like to discuss further with you.

“Do you have a good time to discuss this week? Kind regards, Eddie.”

Benn took to social media to respond to Davis.

“Clearly, Gerv-umpalumpa doesn’t know what upside means. Stick to fighting women. All talk, no smoke @Gervontaa,” Benn wrote.

Davis then accused Hearn of a lowball offer, knowing Tank would not accept it due to the contrasts in sums reported to what was submitted.

“U will beat the dog shit outta you [sic]. We all know this! I was just trying to be good for the sport and beat ya ass in ya home town, but the spoon-fed white boy keep trying to cheat me outta my f****** money b****.”

Benn then instructed Davis to get Al Haymon to make the Englishman an offer..

“U beat the dog shit outta you? Calm down you little angry stumpy man,” Benn said, mockingly.

.“If you feel lowballed tell your daddy Al to make me a counter offer and I’ll fight you in America and knock your head clean off and then you’ll be 2 foot 2.”

Davis is set to face Frank Martin with a date and venue yet to be confirmed by Premier Boxing Champions, but Davis closed the online exchange suggesting his career is not dependent on Benn or Hearn.

“Too late, dummy, what y’all people don’t understand [is] I DON’T NEED Y’ALL.”

While the Los Angeles Lakers were winning the game on the court yesterday, Gervonta Davis was courtside with Dess Dior. Dressed in matching pink outfits, the pair reignited dating rumors among the populace. The undefeated boxer hasn’t entered the ring since his fight against Ryan Garcia in early 2023.

However, reports from boxing journalist Mike Coppinger suggest ‘Tank’ Davis may enter the ring against Frank Martin in late spring or early summer. However, as Davis gears up for his comeback fight, a picture of him with Dess Dior from last night’s Lakers game has taken fans by surprise. Yet, this isn’t the first time these two have been linked together.

Is something brewing?

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), a user by the name of TheShadeRoom shared the picture in question. The user captioned the picture, “Gervonta Davis and Dess Dior spark dating rumors after they were spotted sitting courtside together in matching pink.” Did you know that Davis and Dior go way back?

As per their claims, Davis and Dior were together from May 2020 to September 2020. However, this recent picture from the Lakers game suggests they might have gotten back together. While there is no confirmation from either side about their alleged rekindled relationship, the matching outfits hint at a potential reconciliation. With that out of the way, here are the most notable partners Gervonta Davis has been with.

‘Tank’ and his trysts

Gervonta Davis

Davis, who many claim is the face of boxing, has been linked with several women and has children with two of them. Davis is currently a parent to one daughter, Giovanna Thalia, with ex-partner Vanessa Posso. She is an influencer and the owner of a jewelry brand, RichGirlz. The pair separated after a domestic violence case came to light.

Davis was even arrested and jailed because of the incident but was later released when Posso dropped the charges against him. Moreover, before Posso, Davis was in a relationship with Andretta Smothers, who is the mother of his second daughter, Gervanni Davis. On a similar note to what happened with Posso, Davis separated from Smothers after domestic violence allegations came to light.

Despite achieving unparalleled success in the ring, most of Gervonta Davis’ relationships have failed to achieve the same level of success. However, the new dating rumors with Dess Dior suggest Davis might be looking to start fresh with Dior. Yet, only time will tell where this relationship is heading. Do you think Davis is dating Dior?

Finally, Gervonta Davis, now Abdul Wahid having converted to Islam, has an opponent and is on his way to returning to the ring this year. As per the latest updates, Tank Davis has signed a deal to defend his WBA Lightweight title against undefeated Lightweight boxer, Frank Martin. But, is this a financially lucrative fight?

Before the deal with Martin, Gervonta Davis received an enticing offer from Team Devin Haney. As per Bill Haney, the father of Devin, Tank was offered $20 Million to fight ‘The Dream’. However, Davis turned down the offer. Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis and Conor Benn bantered on social media, teasing fans with the prospect of a fight. But, Tank settled with Martin. On that note, in his latest interview with FightHype, Eddie Hearn told the boxing community how he looked at Tank vs. Martin.

Eddie Hearn is certain Gervonta Davis will win against Frank Martin

It has been more than 10 months since Gervonta Davis last fought. While Davis’ last opponent Ryan Garcia recovered from the loss to Tank, fought Oscar Duarte, and is now on his way to fighting Devin Haney, Gervonta resumed full training only very recently. At this, although people expected Tank to return against a popular name in boxing, Eddie Hearn feels Davis has made a smart choice by selecting an opponent against whom victory is guaranteed.

Gervonta Davis

On that note, Eddie Hearn said, “I mean, yeah, it’s alright. It’s an easy fight for Tank.” In this context, it must be mentioned that Martin is undefeated with 18 professional wins. Additionally, the 29-year-old has won 12 fights via knockouts. As a result, speaking to FightHype, the chairperson of Matchroom, who held Canelo Alvarez responsible for Garcia vs. Haney taking place in NYC, also added, “But, Frank Martin is a good little fighter.

However, Hearn concluded saying, “I don’t think he’s going to do mad numbers. But, yeah, it’s a good fight.” Hopefully, Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin will be a good fight. And hopefully, following the match against Martin, Tank will eventually face Devin Haney. With that said, what do you expect from Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin? Do you think Martin will be an easy fight for Tank? In addition, do you think Davis vs. Martin is not good for financial profit? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below. Frank Martin will enter the biggest fight in his life as he will face Gervonta Davis, now Abdul Wahid having converted to Islam. Although Martin has yet to taste professional defeat and won 66.67% of his fights via knockouts, several people feel Martin is a guaranteed win for Davis. But, what does Frank Martin have to say about Tank, the boxer he helped prepare for the Leo Santa Cruz fight?

In his latest interaction with FightHypeEddie Hearn unabashedly branded Martin an easy win for Davis. However, Martin, who sparred with Tank, felt Davis was not the most powerful puncher in the sport. How do we know? Well, we stumbled upon an old clip of Frank Martin’s interaction with FightHype.

Frank Martin found Gervonta Davis “sharp”, but, not the most powerful puncher

Ahead of Gervonta Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz for the WBA Super-Featherweight and Lightweight titles, Frank Martin sparred with Tank. After a session with Davis, Martin was interviewed by FightHype. While the sparring session was not filmed and made available for public consumption, the reporter regretted that people would not see the “amazing” session Martin and Davis had. Anyway, speaking about his experience with Gervonta Davis, Martin had said, “It was good work. I held my own, he held his. Good experience.”

Gervonta Davis

He’s sharp. I don’t think Leo gon’ have the speed or the reflexes. You gotta have some power. You gotta be able to hold your own in there because Tank’s a beast,” added Martin. However, Santa Cruz fought toe-to-toe against Gervonta Davis, throwing and landing more punches than Davis did. However, as Compubox reported it was Davis’ power and body attack which made the difference, leading Tank to a 6th-round KO win.

Anyway, ahead of the bout, Martin was asked if Gervonta Davis was the most powerful puncher he had come across in life. To which Martin answered in negative. “Nah, it’s a Mexican boxer I sparred [with]. His name is Pablo,” Martin had said.’

But, Martin had also concluded saying, “He got some power. He can crack. Good timing, sharp.” And as Martin had predicted, Gervonta Davis cracked Santa Cruz with a powerful left uppercut in one of the most entertaining rounds in boxing to win. With that said, what can you expect from the upcoming Cruz-Davis fight? Let us know in the comments below.

Gervonta Davis has now taken to social media and shown exactly how much money Eddie Hearn offered him to fight Conor Benn next.

Earlier this month, the two boxers welcomed a transatlantic showdown as they exchanged trash talk online.

This resulted in Benn’s promoter Hearn sending an official offer to one of Tank’s representatives.

However, a fight between them has not materialised and Hearn said he was told the offer was ‘insulting’.

This week it emerged that Davis has now agreed a deal to face Frank Martin next instead, and will be staying with Al Haymon’s PBC.

And in the early hours of Saturday morning, the American dismissed claims that he turned down $25million to fight Benn by publicly revealing Hearn’s offer.

In the email to Davis’ rep, Hearn wrote: “Gervonta asked me to contact you regarding our offer to fight Conor Benn.

Gervonta Davis

“We would like to talk further regarding this fight and our plan would be to stage this fight in May in the USA.

“We would offer $10million plus an upside on the gate and PPV that I would like to discuss further with you.

“Do you have a good time to discuss this week? Kind regards, Eddie.”

In short, Hearn’s offer consisted of a guaranteed $10million purse, plus a percentage of the money generated from PPV sales and ticket sales.

While it’s unclear exactly what that percentage would have been, Davis previously earned significantly more than $10million in his last fight against Ryan Garcia.

However, there are few fights out there for Davis that will prove as lucrative as the Garcia showdown was, and he will certainly be taking a pay cut when he faces Martin.

Benn reacted to Davis leaking the offer by tweeting: “Clearly Gerv-umpalumpa doesn’t know what upside means. Stick to fighting women. All talk, no smoke @Gervontaa.”

Davis replied: “U will beat the dog s*** outta you, we all know this! I was just trying to be good for the sport and beat ya ass in ya home town but the spoon fed white boy keep trying to cheat me outta my f***ing money bitch.”

Benn mocked Davis’ spelling as he said: “U beat the dog s*** outta you? Calm down you little angry stumpy man. If you feel low balled tell your daddy Al to make me a counter offer and I’ll fight you in America and knock your head clean off and then you’ll be 2 foot 2.”

Davis concluded: “Too late dummy, what y’all people don’t understand [is] I DON’T NEED Y’ALL.”

It,  has been confirmed to The Ring that Gervonta Davis will defend his WBA lightweight title against Frank Martin in late spring/early summer on Amazon Prime headlining a Premier Boxing Champions event on Pay-Per-View.

Davis hasn’t fought since his win over Ryan Garcia in a mega-event last April. The Baltimore native served 44 days in a detention center in June having violated terms to his 90-day house arrest at the home of his long-time trainer Calvin Ford. Davis had pled guilty to taking part in a car accident involving four people in November 2020.

Since his release, he has been linked to several possible fights, including a recent offer from Eddie Hearn to move up to welterweight and face Conor Benn. That always looked a stretch for Tank, who has long fought on the PBC umbrella.

Meanwhile, Martin was riding the crest of a wave and primed to face Shakur Stevenson last fall for the vacant WBC 135-pound belt. However, at the last minute he backed away from the deal and hasn’t fought since. While it was startling at the time, it always looked as though PBC had something up their sleeve for Martin, and a fight with Davis apparently made the most sense.

Davis (29-0, 27 knockouts), rated at No. 2 by The Ring at lightweight, impressively took the IBF 130-pound title from Jose Pedraza (TKO 7) in 2017. Since then, his star has risen and he is one of the most popular attractions in America, regularly selling out arenas across the country and performing on Showtime Pay-Per-View.

The 29-year-old owns a highlight-reel knockout over Leo Santa Cruz (KO 6) and showed that his vaunted power carries up in weight when he came on strong to stop the much larger Mario Barrios (TKO 11) at 140 pounds. More recently, he stopped WBA 130-pound titlist Hector Luis Garcia (TKO 9) and then dismantled Ryan Garcia (KO 7) in a fight that garnered 1.2 million PPVs.

Martin (18-0, 12 KOs), rated at No. 6 by The Ring at lightweight, won his first 11 fights and started working with then-unified welterweight titlist Errol Spence Jr. and his trainer Derrick James. The leg-up has benefited Martin, who has gone from strength to strength, taking the unbeaten record of Jerry Perez (KO 7), stopping one-time contender Romero Duno (TKO 4) and Jackson Marinez (TKO 10).

He was hugely impressive dominating Michel Rivera (UD 12) in a match up of unbeaten prospects. The 29-year-old southpaw had a harder time than expected and had to come on late to edge out Artem Harutyunyan (UD 12) last July.
