Charlie Woods won the 2023 Notah Begay III National Championship after firing an 8 ft. putt on the 18th hole. He finished with a score of 66 to win the 14-15 division of the tournament.

Charlie was accompanied by his father Tiger Woods, who was serving as his caddie at the golf course. The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship shared a clip of Charlie making the putt on its social media account with a caption, saying:

After the shot, Charlie went to his father who was standing in the side looking at his son’s game.

Although Tiger Woods is not competing in professional events he is often seen enjoying the company of his son on the golf course.

The 15-time major champion has last played at the Masters in April. But he withdrew from the competition after he found it difficult to stand on the course because of his ankle injury. He soon had surgery and has not played in any tournament since then.Fans hope that Tiger Woods will soon make a comeback as his legs seem fine, as evident in some of his videos that went viral on the internet in the last few months from the golf course.

Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, has added another win to his junior golf CV, with victory in the 14-15 age division of the Last Chance Regional.

Not only did the young cub fire a six-under 66, he did so with Tiger on the bag, who will no doubt be incredibly proud of how the 14-year-old closed out for victory.

A video soon emerged of Charlie calmly stroking home a 15-footer for a one-shot victory, one that has earned him a spot in the forthcoming Notah Begay III National Championship.

Woods, 47, was forced to go under the knife in April, after withdrawing from the Masters, and he’s been recuperating ever since, which has raised questions as to whether he would ever be able to make another one of his incredible comebacks.

However, the latest video of Charlie competing is not just good news for the youngster, but also Tiger, who appeared to caddy for his son without too many signs of discomfort.

For now, it’s Woods Junior who’s in the spotlight, and it was he who spoke to media after claiming the second victory of his junior career.

“It’s great, we just stay in our own little world,” said Charlie, who many will now expect to see competing alongside his father at the PNC Championship in December.

“We take it one shot at a time,” he added. “He puts me in my place.”
Charlie WoodsMany observers have commented how young Woods appears to display a lot of the same mannerisms on the course as his father, and there’s more than a hint of the 15-time Major winner when he speaks, too.

“Shooting 68 last year and followed up with 66 this year, obviously, this course is great for me. You have to go shoot a low round to win this thing, and it’s not going to be given.

“[I] just took it one shot at a time, don’t think too far ahead, and you just gotta keep eating. That’s it.”

This was Charlie’s second victory of the summer after his dominant display at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, and he doesn’t have to wait too long before testing his game again against some of the country’s best young talents.

The Notah Begah III National Championship will take place over 4-6 November at Koasati Pines at Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana.

As for Tiger, the 82-time PGA Tour winner was filmed hitting chips recently, which suggests that he might be stepping up his preparations for a comeback.

Phil Mickelson has been one of the most controversial golfers playing the sport in the current era. Although the professional is extremely talented, he has been under constant scrutiny for his decision to jump ships to LIV Golf when the opportunity presented.

However, most of the backlash can be traced back to a famous sportswriter who ruthlessly threw the golfer under the bus while taking a jab at his legacy. And now, in another surprising accusation, the author appears to call the golfer a “secret agent”.

Golf writer shares his side of the Phil Mickelson story

Lefty has been under the scrutinizing eyes of the golf community due to his switch to the Saudi-backed League. However, he found himself in a dicey situation owing to none other than Alan Shipnuck, who revealed Mickelson’s incendiary comments on Saudi Arabia in one of his books. However, in his new work, LIV and Let Die, the writer revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the 6X major winner in the launch of LIV Golf.

In the podcast Five Clubs with Gary Williams, Shipnuck dubbed the 53-year-old as a “secret agent” who helped launch the PIF-funded league from “the shadows”. Moreover, bringing in the Premier Golf League, he recalled how the American athlete had been a huge supporter of the same after which he switched sides to the Middle Eastern circuit following the alliance of the European and the PGA Tour killing PGL.

Although the golfer went all in on the alternative circuit, the author divulged how Mickelson had also gone to the Silver Lake Private Equity Group in a bid to “get them to fund his own breakaway league.” Adding on to his words, the 50-year-old golf enthusiast pointed out how the 11X European Tour champ was “working three sides of the street simultaneously” all the while negotiating with the PGA Tour in a bid to make his situation better on the circuit — a true “center of the maze,” as per Shipnuck.

Mickelson has been a favorite topic for Shipnuck for decades now. They have a history.

Shipnuck’s comments and Mickelson’s response

The LIV golfer had suffered from an eating disorder around two decades back. The issue was much pursued by Shipnuck himself. And in one of his books, Phil: The Rip-Roaring (and Unauthorized!) Biography of Golf’s Most Colorful Superstar, the writer mentions how, after the 1999 PGA Championship, Lefty confronted him about his remarks about the same.

Mickelson didn’t answer any of his questions during the press conference after the major. Instead, he called him aside and retorted how a lot of the things he said in the “little web column is bulls**t, all the while recounting how it was the first time he saw the golfer using “profanity.”

Charlie Woods has been on a roll for the past year as he makes a lot of waves in the golf world every time he graces the course in the company of his father. The presence of a legend like Tiger Woods, on the greens, has been indubitably helpful to the young prodigy as he comes out guns blazing each time.

But now, in a surprise of sorts, the teenage prodigy has been disparaged, albeit indirectly, by another youngster. A video of a young boy making light work of the course, that too in the presence of the legend, has caught many by surprise, proving he is nothing short of an “ace!”

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods surpassed by a young golfer

The legend himself is hosting the TGR Invitational that is underway at Pebble Beach. And this would have proved to be an immense push for his 14-year-old son, who is taking part in the same. But surprisingly, another youngster has made the news, pushing back the teenage golfer, owing to a stellar performance.

Holden Bautista has made his parents and mentors proud by scoring a hole-in-one at the event hosted by the Hall of Famer. The 11-year-old was able to hit an ace at The Hay, which is a nine-hole short course designed by the GOAT and TGR Design.

A video uploaded on X (previously known as Twitter) has captivated the hearts of many as the young prodigy from Riverside was seen celebrating with his fellow golfers and teammates. Moreover, the 15X major winner was also spotted congratulating Bautista while offering a memento to the juvenile golfer all the while conveying how proud he is of him.

Nevertheless, it would have been a surprise for Charlie Woods, who would have aimed to showcase nothing but a stellar performance during the event. Moreover, expectations were high for Woods Jr. as he took to the course for a practice round earlier in the morning, reminding people of the legend in his prime days.

Charlie Woods’ practice round reminisces a young Tiger Woods

A post uploaded by NUCLR GOLF showcased the GOAT’s son driving the ball at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. The teenager was accompanied by his team including his father who was spotted observing the 14-year-old practicing a round of golf. But what turned the heads of many fans was the stark similarity that he shared with his own dad.

A lot of people responded to the tweet as to how Charlie and his gameplay look exactly like that of his father. Besides, some were also critical of the same as he was given a lot of the benefits on a silver platter owing to his father being the athlete he is. Nevertheless, one can’t help but admire the young Woods as he showcases the exquisite skills and techniques inherited from the Hall of Famer.

Tiger Woods was recently spotted with his son, Charlie Woods, playing a round of golf at Pebble Beach’s The Hay Short Course. He is in town for the TGR LIVE events, JR Invitational, and TW Invitational.

NUCLR GOLF, a popular golf updates page, shared a few videos on X (formerly Twitter), in which Woods was seen playing alongside his son Charlie.

He was wearing a blue T-shirt and grey trousers and had a matching cap as well. His son wore a seemingly white T-shirt and black trousers with a black cap on his head.

Charlie Woods and Tiger Woods

Interestingly, the video on X is among the first where Tiger Woods could be seen playing a round of golf since withdrawing from the Masters Tournament in April 2023. He cited re-aggravating plantar fasciitis issue to leave the Augusta National Golf Club event midway after making the cut.

Golf reporter and anchor Todd Lewis also predicted that the 15-time major champion could potentially make a comeback to professional golf at the 2023 Hero World Challenge. This event will take place in Albany, Bahamas, later in December.

Tiger Woods is a well-established name on the golf circuit for his huge contribution to the sport. Now, following in his footsteps and coming into the limelight is his son Charlie Woods. With his strong grip and exceptional putting, the golf prodigy has done outstandingly well in his career until now. Recently, he had a career-best round at the Notah Begay lll Junior Golf National Championship.

But in that tournament, his father, Tiger Woods, caddied for the golfer and that must have helped the 14-year-old a lot. But Tiger won’t always be around on his bag.

Golf prodigy Charlie Woods has to fend for himself!

Tiger Woods has been away from golf tournaments due to his health concerns and the legendary golfer has gone out of his way to encourage his son while the latter played golf.

Last month during a tournament, he was on Charlie’s bag. As a result, the young golfer recorded his lowest score. He also went on to win the event. Which budding player wouldn’t if Tiger was their caddy?!

But now it seems like the situation will be a bit different as Charlie goes on his next golf venture. According to the high school rules and regulations, Tiger cannot be Charlie’s bagman as he goes forward with his Buccaneer boys golf team to participate in the fourth state championship, which will take place in November, as per a report.

The 14-year-old is an asset to the Benjamin School located at Palm Beach Gardens and has already reaped the benefits of his prowess. Apart from this, let’s take a look at how Charlie has made his school proud so far.

Charlie Woods has had consecutive wins

Tiger Woods has astounded the golf world with his terrific performances in his era of dominance. Now, taking up the legacy of his father, comes Charlie into the picture. The golf prodigy is called a boon in disguise by his school, and they take full advantage of the popularity their student is gaining.

In terms of his performances, Woods junior shot a total of 102 on 36 holes at Cypress Woods Golf and Country Club in Naples to come out as the individual champion of the tournament. A few days back, at the Notah Begay lll Junior Golf National Championship, he secured a 6-under 66, carding nine birdies to win at Mission Inn Resort, Florida. Senior Woods caddied for his son at this event. What do you think of Charlie Woods’ recent performances?

Charlie Woods continues to build his own legacy in the world of golf.

The son of 15-time major winner Tiger Woods, Charlie went out and dominated the Major Championship at Village Golf Course in Royal Palm Beach, Florida over the weekend, winning the Boys 14-15 Division by eight strokes.

Charlie, 14, was the only player in the entire tournament to finish the weekend under par at one-under.

It was reminiscent of the type of unprecedented dominance that his father had in the late 90s to early 2000s when he was the undisputed best golfer on the planet.

The father-son duo have competed together at the PNC Championship over the last couple of years, finishing as runner-ups in 2021 thanks to a fairly strong display from the younger member of the Woods’ team.

Tiger—an investor of the Hurricane Junior Tour—was actually on-hand at the tournament to watch his son’s impressive performance. He is still recovering from an ankle surgery that he underwent following the Masters.

He’s set to miss next week’s U.S. Open and it remains unclear if he’s going to be able to participate in The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in July.

One thing is for sure, he will be hoping to be back and fit in time for this year’s PNC Championship in December where he and Charlie will be looking to bring home the hardware.

Given the way Charlie’s been playing, Tiger might have to hop on his back for the ride.

Despite his long hiatus from the game, Tiger Woods‘ name has not stopped headlining the news in the golf world as his son Charlie Woods makes his own place in the spotlight. The 14-year-old has been raising the bar for himself as he aims to follow in his father’s legacy while carving out a name for himself in the sporting world.

However, as all prodigies experience competition. So has the young golfer, who has found one in his father’s former rival’s son as he recently made the news for his achievements. However, what came out as a surprise this time around was not the contender’s talent but his siblings’, leaving the LIV golfer with not one but three talented children!

LIV golfer finds talent in his blood

Tiger amd Charlie

Although Englishman Ian Poulter seems to be having a rough season in 2023, he has been extremely vocal about the pride he has for his children, especially his son Luke. The LIV Golf pro’s boy has found himself dubbed as a potential rival for the GOAT’s son as the duo’s recent accolades have pitted them against each other, albeit without their knowledge.

However, in a surprise of sorts, the 47-year-old took to Instagram to share news about his children’s golf endeavors, but this time, it’s not Luke: it’s about his siblings. The 3X PGA Tour champ uploaded a series of stories to his social media handle showcasing the various talents of his other two children, namely Lilly Mai Poulter and Joshua James Poulter.

The first video showcases the third child, Lilly beautifully playing the piano while his father records the same. He uploaded the same with a caption expressing his love for the same, “love coming home to this.”

The next story showcases the youngest son, Joshua, trying his hand at basketball. The young athlete was spotted kneeling down on the top of a golf cart while attempting to score a basket. Moreover, after successfully scoring one, the LIV golfer’s son tried to replicate the ever-famous “suiii” of soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, someone whom his father respects very much.

Well, it doesn’t seem so far-fetched to call the older Poulter sibling a potential rival since the rest of the children are gifted in their own right!

Luke Poulter-Charlie Woods rivalry

The Saudi-backed League player’s son was named the SEC Freshman of the Week owing to his exceptional performance on the course. The young golfer finished T11 at the Williams Cup while registering a score of 2-over 218 through 54 holes in just his third start.

However, he received the collegiate honor just when the legend’s son was taking a small break from the game. The Woods duo were spotted at Pebble Beach for the TGR Invitational which was hosted by the Hall of Famer himself.

Well, the 14-year-old would need to pull off another victory like the win that he achieved at the Village Golf Course in Royal Palm Beach if he is to surpass his rival.

Like father, like son.

Charlie Woods clinched a place in the national championships after shooting a 66 to win the 14-15 year-old Notah Begay III National Championship’s Last Chance Regional.

And he had a very famous helper in the process, as his dad Tiger Woods operated as his caddie.

“It’s great. We just stay in our own little world,” he said after the round. “We take it one shot at a time. He puts me in my place.”

Tiger Woods won the Junior World Golf Championships a whopping six times en route to a career than has seen him claim 15 major titles. Now, his son Charlie appears to potentially be on the way to carving out his own successful golfing career.

The recent events surrounding LIV Golf and the PGA Tour have left the golf world in an uncertain position. The PGA Tour’s Framework Agreement with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund has been the talk of the town ever since the shock merger was announced. However, the future of golf continues to remain in doubt.

According to prominent golf analyst Eamon Lynch, Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson’s roles are of great importance amidst all the chaos. Greg Norman, the CEO and Commissioner of LIV Golf, has been a vital part of its first two seasons. However, since the announcement of the merger he seems to have taken a backseat when it comes to operations. Regardless, his support for LIV remains strong.

Phil Mickelson

These indications however, seem to not come around that clearly. The lack of viewership, reluctance in buying franchises and, most importantly, the disapproval from the PGAT all seem to tell a different story than that of Norman
