Simone Biles has etched her name in history for her incredible gymnastics prowess. The Olympic star broke multiple records to become one of America’s favorite athletes. And when she stumbled at the Tokyo Olympics, fans came to support her with full force. No wonder; she’s the true GOAT of gymnastics, and she now has five moves named after her.

In a candid chat with stars Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson, the gymnast revealed her not-so-favorite move and which one scared her the most. And while having five maneuvers named after her is a big feat, Biles confessed a sad truth behind them.

During the chat, the hosts asked Biles if she could perform all five moves named after her. The gymnast laughed and confessed that, despite the high honors, she couldn’t perform all five of them.

While she didn’t have a particular favorite out of the five, Biles mentioned that there was one move that intimidated her. This move was featured during her epic comeback on the international stage in Belgium.

Gymnastics demands a balance of both mental and physical strength. During the Tokyo Olympics, however, Biles suffered from a condition called ‘twisties’ that causes an imbalance between mental and physical coordination. This is dangerous for gymnasts who suffer from the risk of serious injuries.

Biles recalled trying a two-and-a-half twisting vault when it hit her. She lost her sense of awareness mid-air, reporting that she had no idea where she was. Twisties are often infamous for resulting in broken bones, concussions, and other gruesome injuries. But now that Biles has overcome her mental block for the most part, what lies ahead?

Simone Biles’ Olympics return still hangs in an air of uncertainty

Paris Olympics 2024 is fast approaching, and every gymnastics fan wants to know if Biles gets her redemption. Ever since the Tokyo Olympics stint, the star gymnast has been dodging the question and focusing on healing her mental health. However, 2023 brought a ray of hope

Quipped the Olympic hero as she addressed questions surrounding her appearance at the event. She has been diligently preparing to flaunt her best, and with a stellar performance at the World Championships, things are looking up. While the committee makes the final decision surrounding this, Biles is hopeful to make it to the top.

Even couples with the strongest relationships and marriages have their disagreements. Don’t believe us? Just ask Simone Biles. The decorated Olympian opened up about the one subject she and her football star husband Jonathan Owens can’t seem to agree on — and, honestly, it makes a lot of sense.

During her appearance on Peacock’s Back That Year Up hosted by Kevin Hart and Keenan Thompson, Biles opened up about the disagreement she and Owens simply can’t resolve. “Who do you think is the better athlete in the house?” Thompson asked Biles. Biles was incredibly tactful with her response.

“I think we’re good at our own sports,” she said at first. “We’ve tried to pin each other against [one another] on, like, difficulty, ability and all that stuff. So, at the end of the day, gymnastics is harder, if he agrees or not.” Since Biles didn’t offer the clearest answer (though we could definitely pick up that she feels she’s the better athlete) Thompson stepped in to offer his two cents.

“Here’s the truth,” Thompson said. “I know your name, you know what I’m saying? That’s all I’m going to say. I know your name.” Thompson said what he said, and he should say it! Biles, who married the Green Bay Packers player in April 2023 after nearly three years together, also shared this debate has been an ongoing part of their relationship.

“We fought over it a couple of times, and then we vowed once we got married, we wouldn’t talk about it again,” the seven-time Olympic medalist said. “But it keeps coming up every time, but he has done my workout in the gym and he could barely do it, and then I went to their NFL workout and I crushed it.” Well, we think that settles that.

Earlier this year, the most decorated gymnast, Simone Biles, and NFL star, Jonathan Owens, tied the knot in a magical setting in Cabos. However, Biles’ Bachelorette party in Feb was all the talk leading to the big day in May. ‘Bride and Boujee,’ the girl gang, and an international gateway stirred up excitement among the queen’s fans back then. But the 2-time Olympian reveals it wasn’t all smooth.

Simone Biles and a few of her friends were in Belize in Feb, following Jonathan Owens’ proposal on the valentines. The trip entailed many charming updates for the spectators over a week of celebrations. However, the ‘crazy part’ behind the scenes was only recently talked about by the gymnast, which also involved a harrowing accident.

Simone Biles reminisces about an unforeseen accident

Recently, Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson hosted an interview with Simone Biles for Peacock’s “2023 Back That Year Up.” From talks about her career and relationship with Jonathan Owens, the interview hosted candid moments. One of the segments in between, however, focused on the gymnast’s bachelorette party. “Congratulations by the way, on your marriage. This is big. I wanna talk to you about your bachelorette party. What was the good stuff?” Kevin Hart said. With the expected reply, Biles’ injury incident also gave gravitas to the answer.

“Lots of tequila, lots of boat days. I mean we had a blast.” Biles began. “I think the craziest part was, like, I sliced my foot open on the golf cart while going to one of the bars.” Simone, who called that a ‘party foul,’ revealed that the incident did not stop the party from going on. Since there was no ‘real hospital,’ the gymnast kept moving until Owens’ family helped her through it. “My husband’s family was there. They got me right,” she reflected.

However, apart from having mis-stepped on the golf cart break, Simone Biles’ bachelorette party was one to remember.

The gymnast’s near-perfect party

Almost 10 days after the proposal, Simone Biles and her girl gang packed and were ready at the airport. Black t-shirts emblazoned with ‘Bach and Boujee Bachelorette Party’ written over them were sported by the rest while Biles’ read, “Bride and Boujee.” The ensuing days saw various drinks on the boats with girls all dressed up to accentuate the weather. Followed by presents for Simone accompanied by gold metallic balloons and a sash reading, “Future Mrs. Owens.”

However, the highlight of it all was the bridal-themed bikinis and outfits that Simone Biles picked. One-shoulder top, tulle sarong covered in pearls, and a large white bow in the back, all and more paved way to the gymnast’s memorable getaway

Simone Biles acquainted herself with the bars and beams synonymous with gymnastics at the age of 6. After mastering various flips and twists, the star soon paved her path to becoming an Olympic hero. And now, marrying a fellow sportsperson, Biles has raised debates on which sport is harder.

Biles’ husband, Jonathan Owens, recently joined the Green Bay Packers as their safety. The couple has been in love for over three years now, and they take time out to support each other through thick and thin. While Owens recently faced backlash surrounding some statements he made about knowing Biles, the couple is still going as strong as ever.

In a candid conversation with hosts Kenan Thompson and Kevin Hart, Biles laughed about the situation. Owens recently confessed in a podcast about how he didn’t know about his Olympian wife until after they began dating. This caused some serious uproar among fans, who also called him out for labeling himself as the ‘catch’ in the relationship.

But Biles played it safe and even rolled her eyes at the backlash. She then joked about how they would always go back and forth on which sport is more demanding—NFL or gymnastics.

Simone Biles

While the hosts jokingly asked if this question led to the most fights in the household, Biles slyly answered:

Earlier in her Facebook Watch series, Biles and Owens filmed a fun segment where the NFL player attempted gymnastics workouts along with Biles. Acknowledging how the sport needed both mental and physical strain, Owens bowed to the gymnast back then.

Currently, unbothered by the criticism surrounding them, the couple has been spending quality time with each other during the holidays. With the NFL season in full swing, the Olympic hero makes sure to cheer for her husband at any given moment.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have always set couple goals

From holding onto one another at their lowest to cheering out loud at their achievements, Biles and Owens have always raised the bar high for couples. The NFL star stuck with his gymnast wife when she walked out of the Tokyo Olympics owing to twisties. He also cheered loudly for her when she received her Presidential Medal of Honor.

Meanwhile, Biles has donned the cheerleading hat for her husband across all his football matches. From flaunting his name on her necklace to wearing clothes with his jersey number, she makes a point to be loud and proud of who he is. And that’s what makes them a great couple.

Jonathan Owens is a safety for the Green Bay Packers and the husband of legendary Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. Owens is a part of the rebuilding Green Bay Packers that are in the thick of a playoff push heading into the final weeks of the 2023 NFL season.

According to The Sporting News, Jonathan Owens is worth an estimated $5 million. His net worth comes from his NFL earnings, endorsements, and intelligent investment moves.

Jonathan Owens’ contract details

According to Spotrac, Jonathan Owens is on a one-year contract worth $1,010,000 with the Packers. The Missouri Western State alum joined the Packers ahead of the 2023 season after spending the last three years of his career with the Houston Texans.

The rebuilding Texans decided to go another route, and Owens was forced to take his talents to Green Bay. The veteran safety has been solid for the Packers, and he is a significant backup of the team’s secondary.

NFL star Jonathan Owens is married to Simone Biles, arguably the greatest American gymnast of all time. Such a couple can typically get into heated (and competitive) arguments in the household about who’s the better athlete.

Biles recently appeared on the Peacock show “2023 Back That Year Up” with co-host Kevin Hart, who told her to use the platform to clear up any fights between her and the Packers safety. She said:

Simone Biles is a four-time Olympic gold medalist with seven total Olympic medals on her resume. In September, she also stated her goal of competing in her third Olympics in Paris.

Jonathan Owens played the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Houston Texans before joining the Green Bay Packers ahead of this season.

Simone Biles revealed that she and her husband, Jonathan Owens, argue about who is the better athlete.

During a recent interview for Peacock’s “2023 Back That Year Up” with hosts Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson, the Olympic gymnast, 26, shared that she and the Green Bay Packers player, 28, often fight about who is the better athlete in their home.

“I think we’re good at our own sports,” she said. “We’ve tried to pin each other against on like, difficulty, ability and all that stuff. So, at the end of the day, gymnastics is harder — if he agrees or not.”

Thompson, 45, told Biles that she gave a “nice politician answer,” but he also hinted that she’s the better athlete since he also only knows her name — not her husband’s.

Hart, 44, then told the four-time gold medalist that she should use their show to “clear up” her “household fight” with Owens once and for all.

“We fought over it a couple of times and then we vowed — once we got married — we wouldn’t talk about it again,” Biles admitted.

Simone Biles

“But it keeps coming up every time. He has done my workout in the gym and he could barely do it and then I went to their NFL workout and I crushed it.”

While it’s unclear when Biles filmed this clip for the show, she and her husband — who tied the knot in April — recently made headlines after Owens caught heat for calling himself the “catch” in their relationship.

After admitting that he had no idea who Biles was when they first connected on the dating app Raya in 2020, the football star said he believes “that the men are the catch.”

Owens’ comments did not go over well with fans of the Olympian on social media.

“The interview with Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens is SO embarrassing. I can’t believe she let him talk about their relationship like that ,” tweeted one person.

“I had to google Jonathan Owens but I did not have to google Simone Biles,” added another.

“Simone Biles is not only regarded as one of the best gymnasts ever, she’s in GOAT conversations across every sport. They’re calling her one of if not the greatest athlete of all time, I didn’t even know who this n–a was till she married him lmfao,” wrote a third user.

As the backlash mounted, Owens and Biles didn’t seem to let the criticism get to them.

On Thursday, the safety posted a carousel of snaps from their wedding day on Instagram alongside the caption, “Unbothered Just know we locked in over here.”

“for life,” Biles wrote in the comments section of his post.

The most decorated gymnast in history then shared snaps of herself sitting in her beau’s lap as they locked lips and sported matching plaid pajamas.

In the ongoing battle of household athleticism, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are locked in a good-natured tussle over who reigns supreme in the sports arena. The Olympic gymnast, 26, spilled the beans during a lighthearted interview on Peacock’s “2023 Back That Year Up” with hosts Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson.

“We’ve tried to pin each other against each other on difficulty, ability, and all that stuff. So, at the end of the day, gymnastics is harder – if he agrees or not,”Biles shared, sparking laughter from the hosts and the audience.

Kenan Thompson, ever the witty commentator, noted that Biles gave a “nice politician answer.” He playfully hinted at her being the superior athlete, confessing that he only knows her name, not her husband’s.

It is an ongoing debate among the couple

Undeterred, Kevin Hart jumped in with a suggestion, encouraging Biles to use their show as a platform to “clear up” the ongoing household debate once and for all.

Simone Biles

Biles admitted that the athletic dispute has surfaced multiple times in their relationship but swore that they vowed not to talk about it after getting married.

“It keeps coming up every time. He has done my workout in the gym, and he could barely do it. Then I went to their NFL workout, and I crushed it,” Biles declared, light-heartedly asserting her dominance.

Jonathan stirred up the social media hornet’s nest

While it’s unclear when the interview took place, the gymnastics powerhouse recently made headlines with Owens after he sparked controversy by calling himself the “catch” in their relationship.

Despite the online chatter, the couple seemed unfazed, with the Green Bay Packers safety posting wedding day photos on Instagram with the caption “Unbothered. Just know we locked in over here.”

Biles also joined the narrative, sharing cozy snapshots of herself and Owens, showcasing that the playful banter between the two athletes hasn’t affected their affectionate moments.

The ongoing friendly rivalry adds a touch of humor to the power couple’s dynamic, proving that even world-class athletes can engage in spirited competitions closer to home

A faction of Simone Biles fans are continuing to take aim at her husband, Jonathan Owens, days after the NFL star sparked outrage by saying he had no idea who the gymnast was when she first met him.

Biles, who is the most decorated gymnast in history and widely considered the greatest of all time, is married to Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens. The pair started dating in 2020 after they met on the celebrity dating app Raya. They tied the knot in March of this year.

On a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Owens revealed he had never paid attention to gymnastics, and when Biles made the first move on the dating app they were using, he had never heard of the four-time Olympic gold medalist before.

When host Ryan Clark asked Owens if he considered himself “the catch” in their relationship, Owens quickly responded: “I always say that the men are the catch.” He also said that he had been “afraid to commit.”

“Literally had been on the app for a couple of days, man, and it’s like she pops up and, I’m like ‘Let me see who this is.’ I had never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” Owens said during the interview.

Simone Biles

“I go do my workout, and I come back and I had some likes on my Instagram. I still waited and then I come back to my phone, and then she messaged me on the app like, ‘Hey.'”

He added: “I didn’t know who she was at the time, but the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers so in my mind, I’m like, ‘OK, she got to be good.'”

Explaining how he had never heard of Biles, Owens said that when she was collecting medals at the Rio Olympics in 2016, he didn’t have access to the networks that aired the games.

“When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympics channels and we’re in camp,” he said. “So I’m not paying attention to, I never would have had a moment to where I would have watched.”

The backlash came thick and fast for Owens in recent days, as fans compared their levels of fame, and others accused the football player of misogyny. And, it appears, the fans remain furious.

Biles took to Instagram on December 25 to share a trio of romantic photos that showed her celebrating Christmas Day with Owens. Wearing matching pajamas, the two were shown kissing in front of a white Christmas tree in one image, while another showed them sharing festive drinks.

MERRY CHRISTMAS,” Biles wrote, to which Owens responded in the comments section: “First married Christmas,” along with two red heart emojis. Owens also shared similar photos on his Instagram account.

Taking aim at Owens over his recent comments, one Instagram user said: “Look, it’s the most decorated US gymnast in US Olympic history! And her… catch?”

“Merry Christmas to Simone Biles and Simone Biles’ husband who I never heard of until he married Simone Biles [because] NFL is only a thing in America but the whole world knows Olympians,” commented another.

“Not sure who that man is, but I do recognize the legendary Simone Biles!” another chimed in. “Merry Christmas to you girl!”

“Here is the most known and respected athlete in US… and there is her husband by her side,” commented another.

She is a role model for young girls,” another said of Biles before criticizing Owens. “Maybe he should apologize for sounding like such a misogynist.”

While there were many Instagram users who targeted Owens, several others spoke out in defense of the couple.

“Y’all really think these comments on her husband make her smile?” asked one. “You’re not doing anyone a favor with the negativity.”

“Imagine being so miserable in life that you find joy in trying to destroy a happy marriage,” said another. “My gawd aren’t y’all embarrassed? Merry Christmas Simone and Jonathan.”

“It’s unbelievable how people can come on another person’s post and say ugly things,” another opined.

Another challenged whether those attacking Owens are even fans of Biles, while also advising the couple to take a break from social media.

“I’m starting to think a lot of these commenters are really jealous and haters of Simone because how do you justify spewing venom toward someone your idol loves?” they said. “I watched the entire podcast and what I learned most is that your husband is resilient, reflective, humble, and smart.

“The other 2 minutes about your relationship was lighthearted-playful banter between men. Keep supporting each other and please take some time off this destructive force called social media. You have another BIG MOMEMENT to prepare for. If these haters really cared, they would be all about trying to uplift and protect your mental health, not destroy it. Enjoy this holiday season with your hubby.”

Both Biles and Owens appeared to laugh off the backlash. “Unbothered,” Owens wrote in a December 22 Instagram post that included a series of photos of the couple. “Just know we locked in over here.”

In an X post that showed a young child scratching their head, Biles wrote on December 23: “Are y’all done yet?”

Elsewhere in his interview, Owens said the first moment he realized how famous Biles is, was when people were left starstruck by the Olympian when the couple were out getting ice cream.

He explained: “It was all these moms and they’re there with their kids and we walked past and everybody stopped and just [stared]. Kids were just shaking, like, ‘Oh, my God.'”

Owens was drafted into the NFL in 2018 and met Biles two years into his pro career. This year, Owens proposed to Biles on Valentine’s Day. After marrying in a private city hall ceremony in Texas in April, Biles and Owens tied the knot for a second time in Mexico in May in an intimate ceremony with 144 guests.

This is Owens’ first season with Green Bay after spending the last four seasons with the Houston Texans.

Simone Biles’ husband, Jonathan Owens, stirred up some buzz with comments during a podcast interview where he claimed he was the “catch” in their relationship. Despite the media frenzy, the couple seems unfazed. “I always say that the men are the catch,” said Jonathan Owens.

Simone Biles, a gymnast with multiple Olympic and World Championship medals, responded playfully by sharing a wedding photo on Instagram captioned “Mood.” Owens, an NFL safety for the Green Bay Packers, posted another picture from their wedding and wrote, “Unbothered 😂❤️ Just know we locked in over here 🤞🏽.” Biles wrote, “🤞🏾💋 for life,” on the photo posted by Owens and also shared the same on her Instagram story.

Amid the online chatter, Simone Biles also posted a photo of a confused child on Twitter, asking, “Are y’all done yet?”

Simone Biles

Owens’ comments sparked criticism, particularly when he mentioned not knowing Biles before they met. Fans took to social media, with some calling the interview embarrassing and questioning Biles’ acceptance of his statements.

Despite the backlash, supporters noted Biles’ public defense of Owens and emphasized that the couple is entitled to joke about their relationship. “People don’t have to like what he said, but to put down their relationship WHEN SHE HERSELF doesn’t have a problem with it… maybe just let them live and judge in silence if you must,” another one wrote on X. Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have been together since August 2020.

Who is Jonathan Owens?

Owens, an NFL safety, entered the league as an undrafted free agent and gained attention with the Houston Texans in 2020. As of Week 15, he boasts 210 tackles, two sacks, six pass deflections, and one defensive touchdown in his NFL career.
