After Floyd Mayweather agreed to fight Logan Paul on June 6, 2021, at the Hard Rock Stadium, ‘The Maverick’ took to X and declared his mother was “terrified.” However, besides being 19 years younger than Mayweather, Paul had a six-inch reach advantage against ‘TBE’. But, while Mayweather had 50 pro wins, Paul had only two matches against fellow influencer KSI. Hence, when the duo stepped inside the ring, Mayweather out-landed Paul by 27.3%. But, in a recent interview, Paul claimed Mayweather was “beatable“!

However, when Paul was asked to replace a fighter Mayweather was going to face on top of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai on six weeks’ notice, ‘The Maverick’ also rejected the offer. Now, in light of this incident, Logan Paul revealed why he agreed to fight Mayweather in 2021. Here is what he said.

Only force that motivated Logan Paul to risk everything against Mayweather

Although no winner was announced, ESPN had scored Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather 78-74 for ‘TBE’. Meanwhile, after the match, Logan Paul claimed that Mayweather had not paid him for the contest. Therefore, although Paul stated he could beat the 50-0 boxer in a rematch, he felt he had a “bigger fish to fry“. Anyway, speaking to Graham Bensinger, Paul said “respect” motivated the WWE wrestler to agree to a boxing match against the boxer who held 15 major world championships

I think there’s a video of my initial reaction somewhere. And I just remember thinking ‘If I can just survive with this guy, my life will be drastically different forever’. I think my whole life I’ve craved respect,” said Logan Paul.

And I don’t feel like I got that respect that I wanted from making media online. And I knew that if I could weather eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather, you’d have to respect me. You may not like me, but you have to respect me,” added ‘The Maverick’.

In this connection, it is worth mentioning that in the same interview, Paul said he would only rematch ‘TBE’ to beat him. “I already fought Floyd Mayweather. If I did it again, it would be to beat Floyd Mayweather. Which I think is doable, I just need to train proper,” he had said.

Anyway, do you think Logan Paul surviving eight rounds against Mayweather is commendable? In your opinion, can Paul defeat Mayweather should they agree to a rematch? Let us know in the comments below.

Logan Paul took a dig at former opponent and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather after retaining his WWE title at the Royal Rumble.

The social media sensation took on Kevin Owens in Florida

last month and defended his United States Championship. Owens was disqualified for using ‘brass knuckles’ and whilst appearing on SmackDown last weekend, Paul mocked Mayweather for doing less damage in their boxing fight than Owens did in the wrestling ring.

“Kevin Owens did more damage to Logan Paul than Floyd Mayweather,” he said. “I’m unbreakable, unreplicable, one of one, the beast from the east, the best in the west. I am your United States champion, Logan Paul.”

The YouTube boxer faced Mayweather in an un-scored exhibition fight back in June 2021 and the fight sold over one-million pay-per-view buys.

No winner was declared after eight rounds but official punch stats show that Mayweather out-landed Paul despite throwing half the amount of punches. Mayweather has since been involved in a handful of other exhibition fights against MMA fighters, kickboxers and other social media influencers.

Paul didn’t fight for over two years after his glorified sparring match with Mayweather but returned to the ring last October against Conor McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis. Paul won by disqualification in the final round after Danis attempted to choke him unconscious, leading to a mass brawl unfolding in the ring.

Paul made his first WWE appearance just weeks before going the distance with Mayweather. The American signed a multi-event contract with the organisation a year on from the fight and boxing is not on Paul’s radar since winning his fight against Danis and becoming a breakout star in the wrestling world.

“I think I’m retired from boxing. I’ve done enough going fully undefeated at 25-0. I’m going to be a wrestler now. No more money in boxing, every company is going broke. Full-time wrestler. Beat Rey Mysterio. Fair and square for the US Championship. It feels great. It was a dominant performance. Some frog splashes, some punches, it feels good,” he told Fox Business.

Logan Paul and KSI‘s Prime Hydration are going places. They recently celebrated one billion sales by organizing intercontinental promotional events. Outside of the regular over-the-counter sales, the brand is making clear headway into the world of sports. Apart from the multi-year deal with the UFC, Prime Hydration has entered into a sponsorship deal with FC Barcelona. But individual athletes, too, have become a part of the Prime’s endorsement programs.

Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya became the multinational brand’s ‘first official athletes’ this year. So how can boxing be left out? After all, it rained big matches this year. With such promising line-ups on the horizon, the coming year promises to be fruitful as well. Thus, when the iron is hot, Prime Hydration has reportedly partnered with two of the biggest names in boxing. Through its Instagram handle, the nutritional drink maker announced a tie-up with former undisputed champion Terence Crawford and former two-time world champion Shakur Stevenson.

Nutritional succor to boxers

A few hours ago, through its Instagram account, @drinkprime shared, “PRIME is proud to partner with boxing’s greatest, @tbudcrawford (40-0) and @shakurstevenson (20-0), as we continue to elevate the best in the world!” The YouTubers-turned-boxers have, as many experts might perceive, pulled off a major coup. With his unblemished record and recent achievements, Terence Crawford, the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, has earned a spot on the coveted ‘face of boxing’ list.

Many tout his protege, Shakur Stevenson, as the next big thing in boxing. The 26-year-old Newark, New Jersey-born southpaw meets Dominican Edwin De Los Santos in a few hours. Like Crawford, he too remains unbeaten, besides bagging two world titles in his career thus far. Incidentally, for him, the Prime Hydration sponsorship follows the Reebok deal he signed two weeks ago.

Founded last January by the two former boxing rivals, Prime Hydration has been going places. Incidentally, stores selling the drink reported running out of supply at a surprising number of locations.

Logan Paul was in New York, while KSI was in London. Both had a Golden Prime bottle, reportedly worth $500,000 each. As scores of fans saw, it was a young kid in London who finally cracked the code needed to access the London Golden Prime bottle. Unfortunately, since no one could break through the code in the United States, per the conditions of the challenge, the piece in New York had to go through incineration. Surely, that was one heck of a way to celebrate a feat the brand achieved in barely two years of its existence.

Do you think De Los Santos would be able to stage a big upset against Stevenson today?
