The big fight takes place this weekend.

Mike Tyson is fully aware of what it takes to step into the ring and partake in huge heavyweight clashes with so much on the line.

The former world champion will be watching this weekend when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet with all four world titles up for grabs.

The fight, which takes place on May 18 in Saudi Arabia, will see the winner join an elite list of names as undisputed champion.

Tyson, who has his own contest against Jake Paul to prepare for this summer, has had his say on how this Saturday’s fight might play out.

“I’m going towards Tyson Fury because I think he’s just going to overpower him,” said Tyson when speaking to Fight Hub TV.

“He’s going to catch up with him and overpower him. I got to go with Fury. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division.”

Jake Paul is planning on bulking up to 240lbs ahead of his upcoming clash against Mike Tyson before cutting down.

The pair are scheduled to square off on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in a professional contest streamed live on Netflix.

Paul has mostly competed at cruiserweight or at a 190lbs catchweight during his 10-fight (9-1) pro career.

But against Tyson, he will make his heavyweight debut.

In preparation for the fight, ‘The Problem Child’ has been pilling on the mass.

Shane Mosley, a former three-weight world champion and Paul’s trainer, recently revealed the YouTube star is walking around at 230lbs.

However, he doesn’t intend to stop there.

“It’s just like shocking to people that that is how much I weigh,” Paul said on his podcast.

“I think just because normally I’m fighting at 200 and walking around at 210. It’s weird to me that I’m weighing 230.

“But since this was noodling after my last fight I’m just getting to eat as much as possible and it turns out my body carries this weight super well.

“And I’m only growing. I think I’ll get up to 240 and probably cut down so I’m like way faster.

“But if I’m training for this camp – and camp hasn’t started – but if I’m training in this camp at 240 and then I cut down to 220 it’s basically like I had a 20lbs weight vest on for the whole entire camp.

“So my muscles are going to be so much stronger and that speed will come through.”

Before Paul begins his cuts down to 220lbs he will be walking around at the same weight that Anthony Joshua tipped the scales at for his inaugural encounter against Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021.

This is especially remarkable given that AJ has five inches in height on Paul and is a much bigger human being.

Tyson fought at around 220lbs during his prime years and came in at 220.5lbs for his exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr in November 2020 – ‘Iron Mike’s’ last appearance in a boxing ring.

Boxing legend, Mike Tyson, has described Anthony Joshua as a dangerous boxer, urging him to “pick up his pace” in the game.

Even though Anthony Joshua has won the world heavyweight championship twice, Mike Tyson has noted that the Nigerian-born British heavyweight boxer has a lot of potential.

The Six-time heavyweight champion who dominated the boxing world for 20 years stressed that the 34-year-old heavyweight boxer is not a walkover in the game.

Fury urged Joshua who has recorded 28 wins and three defeats with 25 knockouts to turn his “jabs into something”, as he noted that the Nigerian boxer will have a beautiful life after his boxing career.

“He has never lost hope, he is still learning. That’s why he’s dangerous. Because he’s still learning”, Mike Tyson said while speaking with Joe Rogan on his podcast.

He added, “Joshua needs to pick up the pace. He’s got so much potential. He has got to turn those jabs into something. Joshua is no walkover. He’s going to have a beautiful life after boxing. He’s beautiful.”

On Tyson Fury who is expected to face Oleksandr Usyk in a unification heavyweight bout on May 18, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mike Tyson said: “It’s weird to take him seriously because he’s so funny. He doesn’t take fighting seriously, he laughs at people, licking the blood. What’s wrong with this guy? You’ve got to be out of your mind.”

While on Usyk, Tyson added, “Usyk is very hard to hit, he has that elite amateur-level movement. It was too much for Joshua.”

Mike Tyson, who is in preparation for his upcoming fight against Jake Paul on Netflix this summer, previously gave his thoughts on the current crop of heavyweight stars.

Mike Tyson gave a fascinating reflection on heavyweight boxing’s biggest stars, including Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and Oleksandr Usyk, back in 2022. The former world champion is preparing for his own return to the ring against Jake Paul on July 20 but has also shared his opinions on boxing’s current stars in recent years.

The six-time heavyweight champion is considered an icon in the sport by peers and boxing fans and has remained in tune with the heavyweight division, where he fought for over 20 years from 1985 to now. He became the youngest heavyweight champion in the world at age 20 in 1986, a feat that remains untouched.

Speaking with Joe Rogan on his podcast two years ago, Tyson praised the current generation of stars, including Joshua and Wilder, who have dominated the division’s new era. Regarding Joshua, Tyson said, “He has never lost hope; he is still learning. That’s why he’s dangerous. Because he’s still f***ing learning.” The British boxer has 28 wins and three losses with 25 knockouts.

“Joshua needs to pick up the pace. He’s got so much potential. He has got to turn those jabs into something,” he continued. “Joshua is no walkover. He’s going to have a beautiful life after boxing. He’s beautiful.”

Joshua’s power punch-hunting methods and inconsistent game plan execution have been criticized throughout his career. He tends to leave himself vulnerable to heavy counterpunches. Many have suggested that the British’s boxers biggest flaw is that the more aggressive he becomes in a fight, the more he will take punishment. Joshua recently picked Paul to defeat Tyson in their upcoming matchup due to an age difference.

Fury’s power and fundamentals have culminated in a nearly flawless record [34-0-1] with two wins against Wilder in their high-profile trilogy. The lineal champ will defend his undisputed heavyweight championship against Usyk in an upcoming contest billed “Ring of Fire” on May 18, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tyson said about Fury: “It’s weird to take him seriously because he’s so funny. He doesn’t take fighting seriously; he laughs at people, licking the blood. What’s wrong with this guy? You’ve got to be out of your mind.”

For Usyk, Tyson admired the Ukrainian fighter’s quickness, precision, and elite movement. The undefeated technical fighter holds back-to-back wins over Joshua, with the first earning the WBA [Super], IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.

Tyson said: “Usyk is very hard to hit, he has that elite amateur level movement. It was too much for Joshua.”

In the boxing arena, whispers can become roars overnight. When Mike Tyson speaks, the murmurs escalate faster.

Recently, on a seemingly ordinary podcast episode, Tyson dropped a name bombshell. Jake Paul, the internet sensation turned boxer, and Terence Crawford, the welterweight maestro. An odd pairing? Absolutely. A ticket-seller? Without a doubt.

The mere hint of such a face-off has fans and skeptics raising eyebrows and asking questions. But why would Tyson, a boxing legend, suggest such an unusual match-up? Could this be just another media gimmick, or is there a deeper strategy at play? Dive in as we unpack Tyson’s unexpected teaser and explore the frenzy it has unleashed.

Jake Paul’s boxing journey has been filled with unexpected turns and audacious call-outs. Fresh off his dramatic victory against Nate Diaz, Paul’s transition from an internet provocateur to a legitimate contender in the ring has grabbed global attention.

Notably, Paul hasn’t just set his sights on MMA fighters. He has brazenly called out boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez on multiple occasions, adding fuel to the fire regarding his ambition and audacity.

However, it was his bout against Diaz, a seasoned, mixed martial artist, that truly showcased Paul’s evolving skills, tenacity, and determination. And just as discussions about his Diaz win were at their peak, an intriguing twist arose.

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated bout between Mike Tyson and Jake PaulAnthony Joshua has made headlines by showing his support towards the YouTuber. Scheduled to take place on July 20 and streamed live on Netflix, this bout has garnered significant attention, despite being initially labeled as an exhibition.

Tyson‘s clarification that it will indeed be a fight has only fueled speculation about the outcome. Reports suggest that both fighters may opt for 16-ounce gloves instead of the usual ten-ounce ones, possibly to mitigate the impact of their punches. There’s also talk of the fight being contested over shorter, two-minute rounds.

“This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under,” Tyson noted.

“This is a fight. I don’t think he’s faster than me. I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at [age] 16 doing weird dancing. That’s not the guy I’m fighting.

“This is a guy who’s really going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken. Right now, I’m scared to death. As the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality, and in reality I’m invincible.”

Joshua’s remarks

The age disparity between the two men, with Tyson at 58 and Paul considerably younger, raised concerns among commissions, leading to the match not being sanctioned as a professional fight. Nonetheless, with the event given the green light, Joshua has voiced his belief that Paul holds the edge over Tyson.

“I personally think it’s really good,” Joshua said.

“I think the boxing hardcore don’t like it because they think, ‘Why are they disrespecting our sport? [And] I think that person brings all these people into boxing, which benefits everyone else. Everyone viewing helps. He’s [Mike Tyson] older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul because of youth – that’s the only thing.”

Teenage heavyweight Moses Itauma could be boxing’s next superstar – but the Brit has already taken a shot at the current kings.

The 19-year-old recently moved to 8-0 with another brutal knockout, seeing off Dan Garber in the first round last Friday night.

WBC champion Tyson Fury has called Itauma the ‘future of the division’, while pundits have likened him to heavyweight legend Mike Tyson due to his explosive power that saw a teenage Tyson tear through the division en route to becoming its youngest champion.

Fury knows all about Itauma’s talent after a recent sparring session between the two big-hitters.

A 16-year-old Itauma also sparred with two-time world champion Anthony Joshua in 2021.

When talkSPORT asked the young prodigy whether Fury hits hardest, Itauma responded: “No, but he’s so unique. Joshua hit me very hard.

“I sparred him [Joshua] when I was 16. I only did a couple of rounds, but that was enough.”

Opinions have shifted on Fury and Joshua following their respective victories over MMA-champion-turned-boxer Francis Ngannou.

Fury was knocked down and got an unconvincing majority decision, while Joshua delivered a brutal knockout in the second round.

The heavyweight division will crown its first unified king in more than two decades when Fury meets IBF, WBA and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk on May 18.

Itauma hopes to reach those heights one day, but for now, he still believes Fury is the best around.

The heavyweight said: “He [Fury] gave me loads of advice. Currently, I think he is No.1. There are so many factors people don’t take into account.

“Joshua had something to learn off [before fighting Ngannou], Fury never did. Fury was the first person to do that crossover.

“It was great entertainment. Whether he took it seriously is another thing.”

Itauma insisted neither fighter made him wobble, but also explained the complicated nature of sparring big men before lucrative fights.

He said: “I haven’t wobbled. We’re big guys. All of us have the capability to knock each other out and it only takes one shot.

“Let’s say, I go in there and I knock someone out in sparring, they can’t spar for six weeks and I’m going to struggle to get a sparring partner.

“You don’t really learn from knocking people out in sparring.”

Itauma continued: “If I go in there, he’s just tapping and I’m trying to knock him out, I’ll look like a… you know.

Jake Paul is gearing up to face Mike Tyson on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas! Meanwhile, as the fight night draws ever so closer, the banter between the two fighters is heating up. Despite all the criticism about the outrageous age gap between the two, ‘The Problem Child’ is business as usual.

Turning to social media today, the YouTuber turned boxer took a sly dig at Tyson. However, the former ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ is no stranger to some trash talk, and he swiftly responded with a dig of his own. Seeing this unfold, the fans could not hold in their excitement as they expressed their thoughts in the comments. Here’s what happened!

Mike Tyson reminds Paul of the reality

Earlier today, Jake Paul shared a couple of images of the duo from their promotional video alongside a caption that read, “The greatest heavyweight boxer on the planet and Mike Tyson.” It was, of course, Paul trying to get a rise out of Tyson since the young boxer is not even a heavyweight boxer. Nevertheless, he got what he wanted.

Soon afterward, ‘Iron’ Mike discovered the post and reminded Paul of how his opponents felt before facing him in the ring. He wrote, “Everyone has a plan until I punch ’em in the mouth.” This savage response was enough for Tyson’s devoted followers to create a ruckus in the comment section.

Fan thinks Jake Paul is delusional for thinking he could beat Tyson

Both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s online following is no joke, so it’s no surprise that a tsunami of fans flooded in to react to Tyson’s epic comeback. One user urged ‘Iron’ Mike to destroy Jake Paul. The user wrote, “Whoop some a**, Iron Mike.” No matter how fans envision the fight to end, the scary reality is Paul has a splendid chance of creating an upset.

Another user seemed worried about ‘The Problem Child’ as they requested Tyson to leave Paul’s ear alone. “Just leave his ears alone, big dog,” the user commented. The remark was a sarcastic call back to when Tyson bit off Evander Holyfield’s ear.

Someone else highlighted Paul’s delusion about beating Tyson in a fight. “He really thinks he’s gonna beat Mike Tyson,” wrote the user. Even though the boxer holds a god-like status in boxing, it’s important to remember that Paul has faced and defeated other older opponents in the past.

Meanwhile, one user put it best to describe Paul’s predicament ahead of the fight. The user wrote, “You woke the god of war. Time to bring the heat, baby!”

The next user revealed the stark difference between most people and Jake Paul. “Most people respect their elders.. Jake trying to beat em up,” wrote the user. In fact, Paul has built his career by doing that!

Mike Tyson has been backed to beat boxing’s current heavyweight champions ahead of his comeback fight against Jake Paul.

‘Iron Mike’ will fight for the first time in over three years when he faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul on July 20 in Arlington, Texas. Tyson’s last fight, an exhibition against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr, took place in November 2020 and Paul had his second fight on the undercard when he KO’d Nate Robinson.

Ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley knows a thing or two about Paul’s boxing abilities having shared the ring with him twice. Woodley lost a decision to Paul in August 2021 and was knocked out in their rematch just months later. The UFC legend explained why he thinks Tyson can beat Paul despite being 30 years older than him.

“I’ve been in the ring twice with Jake, and I don’t want to get in the ring once with f****** Mike,” Woodley said on his YouTube channel. “The age is not a factor. That’s a wash. Experience level is obviously going to go to Mike Tyson. If Jake Paul beats Mike, I don’t give a f*** if he’s 70, you’re gonna have to put at least an ounce of respect on his name.”

“Tyson could step on the wrong eggshell and let off a combination that could kill most people. He has the power and ability to shift organs in your body if he hits you with the right force.

“He can just go into autopilot and wreck some of the current heavyweight champions in the boxing division now. He was programmed as a machine of war. If he gets knocked out by Mike Tyson at 58, 59, 60, 71, he would join the other 99% of the regular motherf*****s on earth, that’s what I say.”

It’s unclear if Tyson’s fight against Paul will be professionally sanctioned or will go ahead as an exhibition bout. Tyson officially retired from professional competition with a record of 50-6 (2NC) whilst Paul extended his record to 9-1 earlier this month with a first round KO of Ryan Bourland.

In a recent pinch, a clip of ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns trash-talking on Mike Tyson’s podcast resurfaced online. The pair had fought each other twice more than three decades ago, so their encounter during the podcast erupted into a heated debate. Adding fuel to the fire was Mike Tyson, who did his part to egg on both men till they almost came to blows, leaving Terence Crawford in tears of laughter.

Though the clip is from an old Hotboxin’ podcast, the entertainment value behind the clip has kept it relevant and circulating on social media, where Crawford discovered it. So, the former undisputed champion decided to react to the hilarious video via his Instagram story today!

Terence Crawford laughs as Mike Tyson gaslights two legends

In the clip, Tommy Hearns can be seen telling Leonard, “You were scared of me.” Responding to the allegation from Hearns, Leonard claimed, “No, I was concerned. I wasn’t scared!” However, denial from Leonard did not stop Hearns, who kept implying the former was scared of him. So, Leonard boldly stated, “Tommy, I can knock you out now.”

Terence Crawford

Seeing the situation unfolding in front of his eyes, Mike Tyson vocalized the prospect of the two fighting right there: “Holy s**t! Holy s**t!” First concerned about the two legends fighting on his show, his apprehensions soon turned into enthusiastic spectatorship as he remarked, “F**k that N***a up, Tommy.”

Later, when Terence Crawford found the clip of the podcast floating around on Instagram, he shared it on his Instagram story with a caption reading, “Mike Tyson [is] funny as s**t, instigating.”

However, the question is – what happened during their fights that they are such bitter rivals to this day?

‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard vs. Thomas Hearns: A business unsettled

Hearns and Leonard first met in the ring back in September 1981 at Caesars Palace, Outdoor Arena, Las Vegas, with the WBA and WBC titles on the line. Even though Leonard managed to pull off a fourteenth-round stoppage win, Hearns had put on quite a fight. So much so that – the fight was declared the ‘Fight of the Year’ by the prestigious Ring Magazine.

The fight saw Hearns tasting defeat for the first time in his highly decorated career. So, he was amped up to exact vengeance for the loss. With those intentions, the pair met each other in the ring for the second time eight years later. By this time, Thomas had accumulated two more losses but came into the ring much more experienced.

So, when the dust settled after their twelve-round battle – nobody won. The fight was declared a split-decision draw. There was talk of a third fight between the two to put the rivalry to rest, but it never happened.

After the old clip of ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard and Thomas Hears beefing on Tyson’s podcast reappeared on social media, it didn’t just show Mike Tyson’s instigating nature but also the deep-rooted rivalry these fighters still carry for each other. Of course, it didn’t fail to amuse Terence Crawford, especially because of Mike Tyson’s hilarious conduct. However, what did you think of the clip? Would you want to see Leonard and Hearns fight each other again?
