Simone Biles can’t perform certain gymnastics moves! Kelly Clarkson pointed out recently in her talk show. However, the credit goes to Fred Richard’s joint video with the legend, made for the upcoming Gold Over America tour program. In her conversation with Fred Richard, Kelly Clarkson spoke at length regarding that video where Simone Biles and Fred Richards were trying each other’s moves. But showing that video, Fred revealed Simone Biles’ inability to emulate male gymnasts’ moves and vice versa. That part was quickly picked up by Kelly Clarkson.

In his further disbursal, Fred informed Kelly that both Simone and he threw a challenge to each other by copying each other’s artistic gymnastic moves. To everyone’s awe, both standouts failed terribly. Simone couldn’t land Fred’s cartwheeling-type moves on the floor. On the other hand, Fred Richards could not do a ditto of Simone Biles’ full stretch jump on the floor. At first, Kelly assumed that both would have effectively adapted to each other’s moves since they were playing the same sport. But upon hearing about their inability, she swiftly entered the scene to exclaim, “That actually made me feel better,” as this inability made Simone Biles and Fred Richard appear more human. But also, she had some suggestions for the all-around bronze medalist

Kelly Clarkson suggested Fred have their practice schedule by switching the sports “as the sports go hand in hand”. However, Fred displayed his glee over this. But at the same time, he argued that it might feel like “starting from the scratch”, for Simone Biles as well. However, Fred nurtures a special interest in switching sports. In the past, he tried some. In one such case, Fred included several basketball and football players to teach them backflips. Fred did not stop there.

He also divulged that he taught backflip to some singers as well. Kelly couldn’t hold her excitement after hearing this. But the question regarding the gymnastics ability of the most decorated gymnast ever in history stole the limelight in Kelly Clarkson’s talk show. Hang on before reaching a conclusion about Simone’s ability! Take a moment to recall what happened at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships last year.

Simone Biles did break into the ‘male territory’

Last year in Belgium, Simone Biles successfully pulled off the gymnastic vault, Yurchenko double pike. Its difficulty level made only a few men attempt it in the past. Eventually, Simone became the first woman gymnast to perform it on an international platform. So, in that respect, the vault gained the name of Biles II. Furthermore, the international regulatory body set a difficulty score of 6.4 for this vault – the highest difficulty score among the vaults. But what does it make so difficult?

It is mainly doing back handspring onto the vault table and lastly concluding the move with two double flips. But that makes it so difficult that only a few male gymnasts had attempted it successfully in the past. Describing the difficulty level, Simone’s personal coach, Laurent Landi, once said, “What’s scary [is], people can get hurt…You do a short landing, it can hurt your ankles. It’s very dangerous vault.” The gymnastic raconteur, Dave Lease elaborated further.

We all know that Brody Malone and Simone Biles are two most prominent faces in the world of gymnastics. But little did we know that these two had to travel a lot before reaching their glory. The path to ‘gold’ was never easy for them. However, in his recent match, Malone stunned the crowd with a breathtaking performance on the Parallel Bars after his return from injury with an astounding score of 14.850. Malone had once withdrawn his name from the Olympics due to his mental health issue, just like Biles.

In a chilling revelation, US gymnast Brody Malone recounted the harrowing experience of witnessing Simone Biles struggle with the dangerous phenomenon known as the “twisties”. Malone’s insights shed light on the gravity of the situation faced by Biles and the potential risks associated with this phenomenon, highlighting the importance of athlete safety in the high-stakes world of gymnastics.

Witnessing the twisties: Brody Malone’s perspective on Simone Biles

As an esteemed gymnast himself, Malone’s firsthand account offers a unique glimpse into the reality of the twisties, a phenomenon characterized by a disconnect between the mind and body during complex aerial maneuvers, which he calls “really dangerous.” Malone’s recollection underscores the sheer terror and helplessness experienced by both athletes and spectators alike when faced with this daunting challenge. John Shibley hosted a podcast Last In Line in which Brody Malone shared some unknown insights that led the gold medalist Simone Biles to withdraw her name from the Olympic race.

According to him, Simone Biles lost her connection between mind and body during her landing which made her fall and left with an injury. Malone revealed that he was present at the stands and watched Biles’ vault warm up for the team finals. “And she does a one and a half bails out, it was kind of obvious that she was getting lost in the air”, Malone stated in the podcast.  Malone also mentioned that Biles seemed to be struggling to find the right rhythm and was not comfortable in the air. He also stated that he was surprised to see Biles compete in the team finals.

The perils of the twisties: Malon’s dangerous reality check

Malone’s remarks serve as a stark reminder of the inherent risks associated with the sport of gymnastics. The twisties not only pose a significant threat to the physical well-being of athletes but also carry profound implications for their mental and emotional health. As Biles’ courageous decision to prioritize her safety over competition demonstrates, navigating the complexities of the twisties requires immense courage and self-awareness.

In the wake of Simone Biles’ courageous decision to withdraw from certain Olympic events due to the twisties, Brody Malone’s poignant reflections offer valuable insights into the challenges faced by elite gymnasts. As the gymnastics community continues to grapple with the implications of this phenomenon, Malone’s words serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of prioritizing athlete safety above all else.

Before their schedules got busier, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens flew to Hawaii for a quick getaway. It’s not just any other vacation because they attended the wedding of NFL linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill and former University of Georgia women’s soccer player Keely Amelia Cartrett.

Biles shared more photos about the wedding and vacation via Instagram stories.

While Grugier-Hill is already with the Carolina Panthers, he and Owens were teammates with the Houston Texans from 2021 to 2022. Owens arrived in Houston two seasons earlier after getting promoted from the active roster.

Meanwhile, Grugier-Hill joined the Texans as a free agent in 2021. He signed another one-year deal before joining the Panthers last season.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are just two guests at Cartrett and Grugier-Hill’s wedding in Aloha State. Biles shared a photo of the serene location and their wedding invitation.

While he went to Hawaii for his dear friend’s blessed union, Owens’ next NFL destination remains unclear. His one-year, $1 million contract with the Green Bay Packers will expire on March 13, the first day of the 2024 league year.

However, as a free agent, he is available for contract negotiations beginning March 11, 2024. He may have considerable negotiating leverage after ending the 2023 season with 84 tackles, three passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 17 games. He also had his first NFL touchdown off a fumble recovery in Week 12 against the Detroit Lions.

Owens has 227 tackles, eight passes defended, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and an interception in 48 career games.

Simone Biles and her husband make the most adorable couple. The duo are have garnered a lot of social media attention currently. After Green Bay Packers’ recent win against the Los Angeles Rams, the world celebrated the NFL safety J-Owens. Moreover, his super supportive wife’s presence made his game even better.

Biles’ family adores Jonathan Owens as the perfect son-in-law. Though the Olympian’s father claimed that he “loved her first”, he’s content with the couple’s bond. Sailing through smoothly, the power duo stepped out for date nights amid Owens’ NFL season. Having said that, someone special smiled from afar, seeing the couple bring success to their individual careers and as an alliance.

Owens’ mother loves Simone Biles

In an exclusive podcast of Green Bay Packers, the team invited its celebrated safety, Jonathan Owens. Bombarding him with questions, even the fans were in shock to see Owens open up so much. He not only shed light on his NFL life, but also gave a sneak peek into his personal life, passion, and his wife’s and mother’s relationship.

When asked, “And is your mom and Simone pretty close?” Without a flinch, he replied, “Oh, yeah. It’s crazy. Simone. It was at one point before Simone started training a lot, she was talking to my mom more than me. I would come home, she’d be like, yeah, I talked to your mom. I talked to your mom. We were on FaceTime for like 2 hours.”

His statement clearly asserted that he once received less attention because his mom snatched that from him. She became Biles’ new favorite person. But the NFL legend didn’t regret the switch at all. He rather loved the fact that they were gelling. He further added in his speech, “What are you all talking about? Me? Yeah, exactly. They’re super close. And my mom, she’s super excited that I’ve found a woman that has her own and does great for herself. Obviously, she’s the best ever. So, yeah, my mom loves her, though. They’re super close. Pretty amazing role models right there.”

Earlier this year, Ron Biles, the Olympian’s father, had an almost threat-like message for his son-in-law. In the wedding venue itself, he announced the most unexpected amidst invitees.

Ron Biles keeps his son-in-law grounded

When Biles shared her wedding photo series after the nuptial knot tying ceremony, her dad grabbed more eyes. Chilling by the beach, Ron wore a t-shirt with a captivating message on it. It read, “I loved her first”. Not in a mood to stop there, he even got his daughter’s birth date printed below,  “3.14.1997”.

As the cherry on top, the front side of his t-shirt boasted in bold, “Father of the bride5.6.2023”. The date in the write-up was Biles’ and Owens’ wedding date. Though the bridesmaids also donned stunning attires to match that of the father’s, they failed.

I’ve been a foster kid, so foster kids will always have a special piece of my heart,” said Simone Biles at an event earlier this year. NFL safety Jonathan Owens who also happens to share her love for kids. Given that they are no longer the hot new couple they used to be, fans often wonder what route the couple will take when it comes to children.

Still, giving back to the community has always been important to Biles and Owens personally. As the holidays were approaching, Owens posted an update on Instagram, “Excited to announce I’ll be partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay and Festival Foods for my second annual Turkey giveaway.” “Feels amazing being able to bless families and provide the kids lifelong memories,” he continued. Now looks like there is an update on the giveaway posted by @john_sykora on Twitter.

The 5’11” Green Bay Packers player donned a smile with his dimples showing standing next to the toddler. The frame captured her patiently waiting the whole time he unfolded and acknowledged her present. The image was captioned, “We hope you enjoy your pictures’

What’s the kids’ argument? Biles engaged in a Q&A session with her followers on July 17 on Instagram. Where she candidly spoke about the couple’s family planning. The gymnast was asked by a fan if she and her partner intended to start a family. He went on to ask how many children they would like if they wanted to have children. She said, “Yeah, we want kids.” “I would say 2 & Jonathan would say 3 is the perfect number. I don’t want to be outnumbered lol,” she added.

Simone Biles’ admiration of her husband

In the heartwarming and inspiring Instagram photo, Jonathan posed with a youngster on a kids’ bike. “He was so excited to be a part of this tradition…he kept telling me he couldn’t wait to do it – he loves the kids,” Simone captioned the touching moment.

Posted by the Green Bay Packers, who highlighted their dedication to fostering community ties by showcasing their long-standing “DreamDrive” tradition, which has been a staple of the team’s training camp since the storied Lombardi era.

In another instance, The BamFam Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering vulnerable teens through team sports, and the Jonathan Owens Foundation worked together to create the event. The event was hosted at Christian Brothers College High School and was shared on Instagram by Owens. “Doing great things for the kids & community. I’m so happy for you, baby! Keep going,” Biles cheered for him. The beloved duo has time and again been a great motivation and support for one another, complementing and growing with one another!

Simone Biles ‘s success is legendary in the gymnastics world. But, behind victories is a story of accompanied resilience from a tender age by her two-year-old younger sister Adria. Before adoption provided stability in Texas, Simone and Adria had to bear their parents’ addiction by living in shelter homes together. Over time their bond developed into a crucial component of their lives, taking part in the victories and setbacks that shaped Simone’s rise to prominence. Remember when Adria tweeted, “y’all are all about mental health until it no longer benefits you..,” after Simone’s Tokyo Olympics withdrawal?

Backing aside, the cool sisters also share sisterly friendship, as seen in multiple celebrations. On yet another girl gang night out, the adorable elder sister turned protective of the younger one. The moment was posted on Instagram gaining much attention.

Simone Biles enjoyable night and more with sister

Adria is often spotted at cheerful gatherings with Simone’s friends. At their mutual friend Kayla Simone’s birthday party yesterday, the sisters’ close bond was evident as they spent the evening dancing and enjoying music together. Adria shared a delightful glimpse into the festivities on her Instagram story; Posting a video of herself dancing on a table, perfectly capturing the joyful spirit of the occasion.

What is unique about this moment? Adoring Adria with contagious passion as she danced as if there was no tomorrow, the Olympic gymnastics sensation, gripped Adria’s pants desperately. Explaining what happened Adria wrote: “simone holding onto my jeans so i don’t fall,” with laughing emoji. Another friend of theirs had posted the clip with Kayla and Adria both dressed up in the best fits. captioned, “such a fun night.”

A group of seven girls striked various silly poses, which increased the level of amusement. At the JCPenney Portrait Studio, they moved like models, laughing and giggling as they did so. The girl squad flashed big smiles that persisted long after the picture clicked, adjusting strapless jumpsuits to properly capture the carefree attitude. The gang highlighted a coordinated look by showcasing a denim twinning moment, which added to the joy. Afterwards, however, Biles shared a cryptic message. Nevertheless, their backing for one another goes way back in time!

Biles sisters’ role reversed

It becomes clear that Adria is her older sister Simone’s steadfast support system. Adria actively defends Simone against detractors, demonstrating her dedication to supporting her—especially in trying circumstances like Simone’s revelations regarding sexual assault and the fear that followed.

Adria is a strong supporter throughout their most vulnerable times, which strengthens their close relationship. Although once speaking with ESPN about Simone she said, “My sister is fearless.”

In addition, during her final Olympics in Rio Adria provided Simone with support and insight into the pressures she encountered. Adria quickly stood up for her sister Simone when she faced unfair criticism for emphasizing mental health at the Tokyo Olympics. While the stories of Adria’s sisterhood goes beyond the gymnastics arena they both often get into silly leg pulling just like any other sibling. Hence, one can certainly say Adria has her sister’s back 100 percent.

The naming of a new skill in gymnastics doesn’t usually generate much fanfare. It’s mostly procedural. A gymnast’s federation submits the element at the start of an international event, such as the world championships or the Olympics, and if the athlete pulls it off, the element is named after them in the Code of Points. That’s about all there is to it.

But when it comes to Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in the history of the sport, everything is bigger, including the adulation the Houston-area native receives when a skill is named for her. When Biles stood at the end of the runway, ready to salute the judges before her first vault in the final rotation for the U.S. women’s qualification run at the 2023 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, everyone in the arena watched expectantly. She was finally going to get the Yurchenko double pike named for her. (“Yurchenko” refers to the method a gymnast uses to launch onto the vault table and is named after Natalia Vladimirovna Yurchenko, who introduced it in 1982.) It had taken more than two years to get to this point.

Simone Biles

The anticipation for the Biles II—she already had a vault named for her back in 2018—started with a February 2021 interview on 60 Minutes during which the skill in training was showcased. Then she discussed the possibility of doing it in an interview with Texas Monthly that March. And then, a couple of months later, she finally did it in competition at the U.S. Classic. The skill went on the shelf for the subsequent Olympic trials, where she used her tried-and-true vaults, but all signs pointed toward her doing it at the Tokyo Olympics, where she landed it in a podium training session. Perhaps Biles was saving the double pike for the all-around final, where there was a one-touch warm-up, as she indicated in her TM interview.

But, as we all know, her day in the all-around finals never came, because during the team competition, Biles made the difficult decision to withdraw after getting dangerously lost in the air. That led her to withdraw from the all-around final and every apparatus final besides balance beam. After Tokyo, it was uncertain if we’d ever see the Yurchenko double pike in competition again, and if it would ever bear the Biles name.

But unlike other gymnasts who might be training to become the first to do a certain skill in international competition, Biles, at least, didn’t have to worry about another female athlete grabbing the naming rights. The Yurchenko double pike is considered all but unreplicable by anyone else. So far, the only Biles-named skill that another gymnast has managed to pull off in international competition is the very first element she ever had named for her, during her first world title run in 2013—a double layout with a half twist on floor exercise. And that happened just yesterday in Antwerp, when Panamanian gymnast Hillary Heron did it. (Biles was not actually the first gymnast to compete this element; it had been done in 2005 by U.S. gymnast London Phillips at a domestic competition, but a skill can only be named after a gymnast who performs it at a world-level event.)

The other skills that bear Biles’s name are so outrageously difficult—the double-double off beam, the triple-double on floor exercise—that it’s hard to envision anyone else doing them in competition. (Her first eponymous vault, a half on to a double twist, is probably possible for another gymnast—it’s a linear, not exponential, jump in difficulty from the more common 1.5-twister, but it’s tricky, and even Biles stopped doing it after just a couple of competitions.) The fact that her signature elements are out of reach to her peers is a testament to her once-in-ten-generations talent.

So even though she was unable to complete the skill in Tokyo, the Yurchenko double pike was waiting for Biles to claim upon her return to competitive gymnastics.

Unlike in 2021, when Biles did the vault at one meet and not at subsequent ones, this year the skill has become a mainstay of her repertoire. She did it at her comeback performance at the U.S. Classic this summer. She did it again at nationals. She did it at national team training camps. She did it at podium training for this week’s world championships. There was never any doubt, as there was in 2021, that we’d see this vault in international competition. Biles was clearly on a mission to put this element in the books.

When she stood at the end of the runway, the final gymnast up for Team USA in its final rotation, the entire crowd knew what they were about to see. In fact, they had just seen it not fifteen minutes earlier, when Biles did it in the warm-up. The crowd had gasped and then cheered as she launched upwards of eight feet into the air, rotated two and a half times, and then landed on the blue mats.

But even though the audience had already seen the vault in warm-ups, its desire to see it again hadn’t diminished at all. You have to try really hard to become jaded over a skill like this. I’ve now seen it in person a handful of times, and the thrill hasn’t worn off.

Besides, this competitive vault was the one that counted—for the team score, for the all-around and vault finals qualifications, and for the name. So Biles sprinted toward the vault one more time, hurdled into her roundoff, flipped backward onto the table, and propelled up and off into her flips. Her coach, Laurent Landi, was standing on the mat, tracking her as she reached her peak height and then stepping away as she rotated downward. In typical Biles fashion, she overpowered a vault that requires more power than any other female gymnast can hope to muster. Landi’s presence on the podium incurred a 0.5 neutral deduction—you’re only allowed a spotter on the uneven bars—but even after losing half a point, Biles earned a 15.266, the highest vault score of the women’s competition thus far. It’s unlikely that anyone will top it in subsequent rounds of qualification.

Simone Biles blazed the gymnastics floor at the World Championships 2023. Back in Antwerp, after a decade since her debut, she made the ultimate comeback to the global stage after the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Her comeback had a clear motive, but the familiar anxieties that had led her to withdraw in 2021 resurfaced, casting a shadow of doubt. Biles took to TikTok and shared a candid video captioned “A Whole Bunch of Word Vomit bc Nerves.” In the video, she took her fans behind the scenes as she prepared for the championships. She opened up about her major anxiety, saying, “I was so nervous last night and so anxious, and I don’t know why.”

She then told her fans how it was actually normal and meant that she was prepared. The person who helped her realize this was none other than her husband Jonathan Owens. She reached out to him, texting, “Babe, I am feeling so anxious right now.” Despite the physical distance between them and being in different countries, Owens was there for his wife, offering the support she needed. As Biles returned to America after a stellar performance in Antwerp, Jonathan welcomed her in the most heart-warming way.

Jonathan Owens gives Simone Biles the perfect welcome

Jonathan Owens recently shared a video on his Instagram story. The camera first showed a delectable meal prepared for two –roasted Brussels sprouts and steak – by Chef James Watford. Then came the ultimate surprise.

Coco Gauff hailed Simone Biles as the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) following the American gymnast’s historic victory at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

On Friday, October 6, Biles clinched the gold medal in the women’s all-around final in Antwerp, Belgium. The American recorded an impressive score of 58.399, beating out the 2022 all-around world champion Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, who won the silver medal with 56.766. Meanwhile, American Shilese Jones won the bronze medal with 56.332.

With her triumph, Simone Biles became the only female gymnast to win six world all-around golds, equaling Uchimura Kohei’s record. She now holds a remarkable total of 34 world and Olympic medals, which is more than any other gymnast, male or female, making her the most decorated gymnast in the history of the sport.

Coco Gauff reacted to Biles’ achievement by posting a goat emoji on social media, acknowledging her as the greatest of all time.
