Simone Biles and her husband have been anticipating their first marriage anniversary on April 22, bringing their love affair to another milestone. The couple has not only been known to go the extra mile with their respective sports and love life but also to shower love off the fields, on high-spirited kids who look up to them as their idols. Recently Owens took a step towards that showcasing his commitment to the sports of football.

The charitable foundation that Jonathan Owens established in 2022 is at the center of this with its kind gesture. The Jonathan Owens Foundation and Owens lately took to social media to announce its annual free camp, trying to give back to society.

Captioned as “It’s that time of the year again! We are excited to announce it!!”, Jonathan Owens lately declared on his Instagram about the third annual Jonathan Owens Foundation free youth football camp and showcase, in collaboration with the Bam Fam Foundation that would be happening soon. A noble cause to young generation footballers to demonstrate their talent free of cost on a reputed platform, the camp aims to give back to NFL fans thereafter.

Scheduled to be held in Christian Brothers College High School in St Louis on June 23rd, 2024 at 9:00 am, the Jonathan Owens Foundation urges the audience to share these details further, register soon, and participate in the camp. The newly joined Chicago Bears safety therefore spreads its another initiative to help inner-city youth by promoting the sport. However, this is not the first time the foundation has taken up such socially responsible activities.

Other previous initiatives of the foundation

It has not been long since Jonathan Owens started spreading noble gestures to the common public. Simone Biles’ husband has been doing fair in his work with the foundation. His nobility came to the fore with the 2023 J.O Foundation Turkey Giveaway in Green Bay, Wisconsin on the occasion of Thanksgiving. A satisfied Owens had told back then. “It’s always important for me to give back because I wasn’t one of the most fortunate kids growing up either…so I always love to give back.” This thought made him do more.

J.O Foundation also arranged its 2nd Annual Free Youth Football Camp in St. Louis, Mo Summer 2023. Staying connected with the community, the Jonathan Owens Foundation also collaborated recently with Super Cross Live to provide a dope experience for the kids at JO’s former middle school. He has Simone Biles also on this road.

Simone, like her husband Jonathan Owens, is also focused on delivering help to people with her own charitable ‘Biles invitational’. Thus, while Owens and Biles becoming one of the hottest couple prospects in the sports industry, their charitable elements are making them all the more lovable to the enthusiasts across the realm.

The seven-time Olympic medal-winning United States gymnast Simone Biles took millions by surprise when she withdrew from the individual all-around event finals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Biles announced after she stepped down that she needed to take time to focus on herself and her mental health.

Biles claimed to get a case of the twisties, which is a severe mental block, specifically in gymnastics. It causes the gymnast’s mind to feel disconnected from their body and inhibits certain skills from being executed. This is something Biles has suffered with before and had to overcome, according to the Olympics.

“We also have to focus on ourselves, because at the end of the day, we’re human, too,” Biles said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Biles made it clear to everyone that focusing on your health is more important than competing and isn’t worth letting your team down.

“I didn’t want the team to risk a medal because of my screw-up,” Biles said during a press conference, according to Time.

Even though Biles was putting herself and her team first, she received harsh criticism all over social media.

Biles was called a quitter by thousands of fans, and even referred to as a shame to the country, according to a video on the social platform X, previously known as Twitter.

“For anyone saying I quit, I didn’t quit,” Biles commented on Instagram, according to Sporting News.

During her self-recovery time, Biles got married to her fiance, Jonathan Owens, then later found herself ready to be back in the gym. Biles competed in the 2023 U.S. Classic, making it her first competition in two years, according to Sports Illustrated.

Even with nerves and jitters at her first competition back, Biles won by five points, proving to all her fans she isn’t a quitter and that the time away has only benefited her and her career, according to The Guardian.

For the years that Biles has competed on the Olympic team, she has been expected to lead the U.S gymnastics team to a gold medal. With her return and perseverance, that expectation has returned once again.

The U.S. team has won the gold medal for the past three summer Olympics and they hope to win again this year in Paris.

Biles has recorded the three highest all-around scores in 2023 and has reclaimed her title as the best in the world, according to The Guardian.

Thousands have seen Biles as the world’s best gymnast since she was 16 years old and brought home her first gold medal.

This reputation as the world’s best has only seemed to grow after her case of the twisties.

Since Biles’ first Olympic appearance in Rio at 19 years old, she has been a top competitor and teammate. It can only be expected that a mental break is needed after competing at the highest level for so many years.

As a team leader, GOAT and record holder, expectations are beyond high, adding stress to competitions and execution.

So much pressure can have major effects not only on performance, but also mentally. Prioritizing your mental health is key in order to keep succeeding. Having a good and stable mentality will only benefit your physical health.

Mental and physical health are connected in all aspects. If your mental health is struggling, your physical health will follow, which is why allowing time away to focus on your mental health should always be acceptable.

Biles has individually won 30 world medals, with 23 of those being world gold medals, which is the most ever in gymnastic history, according to USA Gymnastics.

Not only do Biles’ stats prove she is the leader of the U.S. team, but she is also the best worldwide.

Having the ability to be open about focusing on mental health and taking time for yourself is something that can be harder than expected.

“People can’t see it, so it’s harder to understand, but I think that’s why it’s so important we feel empowered to open up about it,” Biles said to Good Housekeeping.

Biles is an idol to millions, and her open honesty has only added to her legacy in the gymnastics world and beyond.

Biles was named the 2023 Associated Press Female Athlete of the year, and claimed her 21st world title with all-around gold at the world gymnastics championships in Belgium. These recent achievements have confirmed that her time away has allowed her to come back better than ever, being even more respected and reliable than before.

Biles has overcome her fear of the twisties with the help of her teammates finding an even deeper love for the sport, inspiring herself to never give up.

“I think what success means to me is a little bit different than before, because before, everyone defined success for me, even if I had my own narrative that I wanted,” Biles told Olympics.

As the French capital prepares to commemorate 100 days till the start of the Paris Games, another noble grandeur is scheduled in New York.  Michael Jordan and Simone Biles, two of the greatest athletes, will be among the guests of honor at the Buoniconti Fund 39th Great Sports Legends Dinner. It’s a premier fundraiser for the Miami Project, an initiative co-founded in 1985 by Dr. Barth A. Green and Pro Football Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti after Buoniconti’s son Marc suffered a spinal cord injury during a college football game.

The Miami Project works in advanced research and treatment for spinal cord injuries. The nobles and the luminaries attend to raise funds through auctions for paralysis cures. Here’s everything you need to know about the trail of events.

Simone Biles might be looking at a busy schedule

A roster of Hall of Famers, gold medalists, international champions, and honorees gathers annually for the Sports Legends Dinners, lending their support to an admirable cause that has raised more than $130 million. The event, which is scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024, at The New York Hilton Midtown Hotel, is expected to bring Michael Jordan and Simone Biles together again.

Both are ardent supporters of The Buoniconti Fund, which helps alleviate the suffering of paralysis patients. The foundation runs a recognized Center of Excellence with a group of 250 scientists, researchers, and clinicians at the Leonard M. Miller Center at the University of Miami.

The Buoniconti Fund event is just around the corner. It will have a silent auction and cocktail party before dinner, which is traditional for raising money for research into paralysis treatments. Interestingly, the Miami Project spent $4,211,872 in 2020 with $638,398 in liquid assets; this is evidence of the project’s continuing commitment.

Revisiting great Sports Legends Dinner archives

Michael Jordan has a long history of supporting deserving causes, and his participation in this occasion goes on to show his steady commitment. Jordan’s support resonates through the compassionate corridors, from earlier interactions at the Great Sports Legends Dinner to moving visits to the center with luminaries like Marc Buoniconti and Dan Marino back in 2016.

Coinciding with Jordan’s involvement, Simone Biles has contributed her voice to the project. Her presence at the 2017 gala created a ripple effect in the sports community, increasing awareness and a common goal. Simultaneously, Marc Buoniconti’s book “Undefeated: From Tragedy to Triumph” was published that same year, adding a moving story about a person’s path from hardship to recovery and capturing the indomitable spirit at the core of the paralysis cure movement.

Austin-area fans of gymnastics icon Simone Biles will get to see her high-flying routines in fall 2024, when a national tour of champions comes to the Moody Center. The Gold Over America Tour Starring Simone Biles will land in Austin on Friday, October 18, according to the tour website.

Official ticket information had not yet been announced as of early April, but the tour website says tickets will go on sale May 17 via Ticketmaster. It’ll will hit Houston’s Toyota Center on October 19 and Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena on October 20.

“Join the excitement at The Gold Over America Tour, starring Simone Biles and featuring squad members Shilese Jones, Fred Richard, Mélanie Johanna De Jesus Dos Santos, and more,” says the website. “This celebration of world-class gymnastics is designed to inspire the next generation of champions.”

The tour, presented by Athleta, will hit 30 arenas nationwide, “delivering a high-octane, action-packed experience” in a pop concert-style setting, the site promises. “Following the success of the 2021 tour, the 2024 edition will embody hope, strength, resilience, and determination.”

The Gold Over America Tour (abbreviated by organizers, appropriately, as G.O.A.T.) will take place just months after the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, at which Biles is expected to contend.

That “road to Paris” will run through Texas at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, taking place May 30 through June 2 at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena. Tickets are now on sale. The four-day men’s and women’s competition will crown national champions and determine the members of the U.S. National Team who will then compete at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Minneapolis, June 27-30, 2024.

The first Gold Over America Tour took place following the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. Despite Biles’ withdrawal from much of the Olympic competition due to mental health challenges, she headlined the G.O.A.T. tour and performed alongside a “supersquad” of gymnasts — Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Grace McCallum, MyKayla Skinner, and more. They performed for full, exuberant crowds inside several Texas arenas in October 2021.

Watch the G.O.A.T. tour website for more information, full schedule, and tickets, organizers say.

Find out what the gymnastics superstar is looking forward to after a record-breaking 2023 World Championships

Simone Biles return trip to World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, this past week was a complete success as the superstar American won five medals at the 2023 edition, including four golds in the team, all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise finals.

It was her first international competition since the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021 where she withdrew from the women’s team final and four subsequent individual finals to priortise her mental health as she dealt with what gymnasts call the ‘twisties,’ where the body and mind fall out of sync.

In her return to the sport, Biles has repeatedly talked about being more intentional in what she does, especially outside the gym.

“I think I’m making a bigger effort into taking care of my mind and my body, which includes going to therapy once every week, usually on Thursday is kind of like my therapeutic day and try to take a day for myself,” Biles told Olympics.com in an exclusive interview prior to the Worlds. “I think it’s just really important that I’m taking care of my mind as much as I do my body, especially in this sport and outside of the sport, just being real active in that.”

It should, then, come as no surprise that Biles has something very normal planned for her return home with the friends and family who have helped her get to this point.

“They’ve been amazing just to keep my mind off of gymnastics, because for a couple of years, whenever I wasn’t in the sport, that’s kind of all I had. We got to hang out, have fun and just like be normal adults,” Biles said of her friends and family back home, after taking her sixth World all-around title. “So, I think it’s been really nice that even when we go back, we’re going to try to go to a winery and stuff like that just to keep it normal.”

The 26-year-old newlywed will also likely head off to meet up with husband Jonathan Owens, who plays for the NFL team Green Bay Pakers. The pair have been long distance since Owens signed the Packers as a free agent almost immediately following their nuptials.

As for what’s next for Biles in her sport, the 2023 competitive season is mostly over in gymnastics. The four-stop World Cup series will begin the first quarter of 2024, but Biles is unlikely to attend. Domestically, her first opportunities to compete could come at the Winter Cup, typically held in February, or May’s U.S. Classic, as she builds towards competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics in France next July.

“Gymnastics is something that I do and it’s not who I am as a person,” said Biles, “and I think it took years to realize that. So it’s kind of nice to break out of that shell.”

Her name is an irresistible door opener. “Wow! An interview with Simone Biles? I’ll put your application in the rush box!” said the consular officer at the US embassy in Paris. One transatlantic flight later, it was the immigration officer at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, who, upon discovering the reason for our visit, reacted enthusiastically behind his counter window: “Simone? She is our treasure! You’re gonna loooove her!”

The first African-American woman to be crowned US gymnastics champion, in 2013 at the age of 16, Biles has since won seven Olympic medals – including four titles (individual, team, vault and floor) at Rio in 2016 – and 30 world medals, 23 of them gold, including individual all-around titles in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2023. The pocket-sized Texan (1.42 meters) is the most decorated gymnast of all time, regardless of gender, to the point that enlightened observers dub her “The GOAT,” for “The Greatest of All Time,” a status she assumes by sporting a goat’s head on her sequined leotards.

After a break of two years and two days, Biles made a stunning return to competition in August 2023, winning her eighth all-around individual national title in 10 years, and then, in October 2023, her sixth individual world title, in Antwerp, Belgium. On this occasion, she also pulled off a Yurchenko double pike vault, a feat never performed by a woman in competition, which became the fifth skill listed under her name in the International Gymnastics Federation’s Code of Points. All signs that she’s ready for the Paris Olympics, which will be her third in a row.

However, the 2021 Tokyo Games could have been the end of her career. While her dominance and consistency made her the overwhelming favorite in the individual all-around on three of the four events – the uneven bars being her weak point – and should have led Team USA to gold, she withdrew from most events, suffering from “twisties,” a brutal and unpredictable inability to situate herself in space during aerial maneuvers.

Four-time Olympic gold-medal winning gymnast Simone Biles became the most decorated gymnast—male or female—in history on Friday, winning her 34th medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Belgium, continuing an unprecedented reign of dominance.

Biles’ all-around title at the World Championships on Friday was her sixth ever, giving her a total of 34 medals to surpass gymnast Vitaly Scherbo, a male gymnast who had held the record and competed for the Soviet Union, Russia and Belarus throughout the 1990s.

Biles was dominant in the all-around on Friday with a score of 58.399 on the balance beam, floor, uneven bars and vault, taking a commanding lead over Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade by 1.633 points.

The 26-year-old gymnast has now won 27 world championship medals, including 21 golds, and has won seven Olympic medals, including four golds, after leading Team U.S.A. to a silver in the 2020 Tokyo games and gold in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games.

TANGENT

Biles, the 2022 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, is also the world’s eighth-highest-paid female athlete, making roughly $10 million as of December 2022, primarily outside of gymnastics, according to Forbes.

CONTRA

After leaving the sport for more than two years over mental health concerns, Biles announced her return to gymnastics in June after walking away from the sport following the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 (the games were pushed back one year due to Covid-19). Biles had withdrawn from the majority of the Tokyo games, despite being favored to win gold in at least four events, drawing criticism, though other athletes expressed support for her decision, including U.S. gymnast Sam Mikulak and tennis star Naomi Osaka—who also walked away from sports amid struggles with depression.

Despite being a sturdy Texan resident, Simone Biles holds a special partiality towards the NBA squad of Golden State Warriors. It all comes down to the presence of Wardell Stephen ‘Steph’ Curry II in the number 30 jersey. The blandishing went to a heightened level when Simone wished to babysit Steph Curry’s children, Riley and Ryan, out of joy. That awe still exists in the 27-year-old gymnast.

So, when Curry required special support for an astounding task in the basketball arena last night, Simone Biles appeared. Adding an extra voice of support, Jonathan Owens joined her in the box. With that, multiple goals were achieved last night in Houston.

While Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors extended their victory run in the arena, the Biles-Owens couple immersed themselves in the box, enjoying the warmth. To make the spent moment a memorable one, Jonathan clicked a selfie with Simone Biles and posted it on his IG story. In the meantime, the athletic couple took a moment to pleasure themselves by noticing the balling prowess of Steph Curry against the home team, the Houston Rockets.

In the same IG story, the NFL safety captured the movements of both teams in the arena. However, the game ended with handing the Golden State Warriors a season-high six-game victory on a trot. But while enjoying her favorite basketball player’s game from the box, for Simone Biles it was one of the rare moments while her husband was with him despite the NFL season taking a start.

Jonathan Owens will handle the safety post being the ‘Chicago Bear’ this time. The practice is already in full swing. In the same IG stories, the 28-year-old NFL homebody added about his balance practices with the squad on a sand-filled ground. In the meantime, he came to Simone Biles to enjoy his leisure time. However, the couple received some good news a few days ago from JO’s previous club.

The rare achievement before starting the new season

Jonathan Owens’s leaving report from the Green Bay Packers came out of the blue. However, his performance in the last season does not hold a similar stature. Even, according to the NFL, Simone Biles’s husband was eligible to receive the highest performance-based pay from the GBP. So, as per the rules, his earnings went beyond the regular ones from the present lineup.

As per the available report, it is USD 671, 433. It comes after comparing the playtime and the salary, donning the club’s jersey. In that situation, Jonathan Owens earned a big, being the consistent performer in the previous club. That recognition made Jonathan Owens more phenomenal and Simone Biles celebrated the moment in the arms of her husband, spending a shared time.

Simone Biles received another surprise outing from husband Jonathan Owens. After attending the last NBA game together in Houston, this time the couple celebrated the warmth with a small dinner party. The closely-knitted affair witnessed both Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens finding satisfaction in the company of each other. To keep her followers updated with the happening, the 27-year-old gymnast posted an IG story last night showing Jonathan taking his grab from the dinner plate with a large smile. Simone captioned the post, “came to visit me on set today [emoji]”. Eventually, the small dinner party served several insights apart from hinting at the warmth the couple is having between them now.

As the visual panned out from that IG story, it fervently showcased an indoor with Simone’s photo frame behind. However, with such an appearance, the Rio Olympics champion left her fans guessing about the location of their latest dinner date.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are once again donning new avatars for an NBA game. The power couple of the sports world, both Biles and Owens, seem to enjoy each other’s company very much. The duo had a long vacation in Hawaii recently where the chemistry between the two was evident. Every time Biles posted a picture wearing a new outfit, Jonathan Owens would not miss out on commenting about her wife.

Now closer to home because of Owens’ switch to the Chicago Bears, the dynamic duo seem to be making up for lost time. And how. Following a similar trend, Biles’ social media update revealed that the pair once again teamed up to attend an NBA game. However, there was a big surprise. They once again donned some new outfits that made their fans go gaga. How did they set hearts soaring with their sartorial sense?

Simone Biles gives a sneak peek of her on fleek match day attire

Simone Biles posted several pictures on her Instagram recently to announce their attendance at an NBA game recently. However, Biles also flaunted her attire along with that of her husband, Jonathan Owens. While Biles sported red, shimmery boots, Owens went with casual sneakers. A second snippet would further reveal their entire look for the matchday

Jonathan Owens looked sleek in a brownish half-sleeve t-shirt and jeans. Biles, on the other hand, sported a black jacket with a white cropped top underneath. She paired it with black shorts to complete her look. As adorable as the duo looked, this wasn’t the only instance of the two lovebirds’ leisurely escapade.

just recently, Biles was spotted rooting for Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors from the box along with her husband. Biles looked elated when the Warriors got the better of the Rockets to extend their winning run to six in the present season. Biles also wore a Chicago Bears jumper to extend her support for her husband, who recently landed a big NFL deal. However, amidst all the glitz and glamor, the power couple is bracing up for their respective professional goals for the future.

What lies in the offing for Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens?

Biles will be kick-starting her Olympic campaign later this spring. The 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist is eyeing her second golden run in Paris after her impeccable antics in Tokyo back in 2021. However, Biles’ morale would receive a significant boost to know that Owens is too proud to see her take the front seat. Owens added, That’s my wife. If anything, it’s like a respect thing that people always mention my wife first, because you always want your wife on this pedestal. I love her. I support her. It’s no jealousy. We both support each other to the fullest.”
