Biles and Chiles are always there for each other

Resharing the story by GK Elite, Jordan Chiles took to her Instagram handle to once again reminisce the moment from the 2023 Xfinity US Gymnastics National Championship. The kindred spirit between Chiles and Biles, at the 2023 Xfinity US Gymnastics National Championship is entrenched in history. While Simone Biles’ had given remarkable performances, there was a fair share of heartbreak as her best friend, Jordan Chiles, faced a fall from the uneven bars. However, despite that, Chiles continued her routine earning her spot in the Senior U.S. Women’s National Team.

Even during the event, Chiles continued to hype up Simone Biles. “She’s 26 years old and she’s doing big gymnastics,” she took to remark during the event for Biles. Interestingly, Chiles is well aware of her standing and enjoys being a hype woman, “I love being the hype woman. Sometimes you know they think I get on their nerves all the time, but it is what it is,” she adds. However, recent times are not very hyped up for Chiles.

Jordan Chiles backs out from Winter Cup post-Biles exit

After Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles have withdrawn from the 2024 Winter Cup. She has cited injuries as the reason for her exit. Due to her shoulder issues, Chiles expressed frustration, however planning to return to the gymnastics domain stronger. A few days back, she took to her Instagram to let it know.

Chiles took to remark, “Hey guys! I tweaked my shoulder, which has prevented me from training at the level I am comfortable with leading up to a competition.” Simone Biles’ unparalleled talent is also missing from the Winter Cup. The gymnastics community remains hopeful that will get to see these two iconic legends perform again soon.

4x gymnastics Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles is currently relaxing in the off-season. The 26-year-old is enjoying a break with her husband Jonathan Owens as he recently finished his NFL season with the Green Bay Packers. However, while Biles is not competing for the moment, the gymnastics legend still has business to attend to.

Simone Biles is known for her staunch sense of discipline which she brings to the mat every time she competes. But, tending to work amidst a break is quite a tedious task. However, the latest social media update from Biles showcases that she is having fun while working as well. In fact, the update showed her refreshing herself with her teammates as they worked on a new partnership.

Simone Biles slashes workload with a slush

Interestingly, the 23x world champion isn’t just shooting ad campaigns, but also working on a personal project. In fact, she is very excited about it and has been regularly updating its status along with hubby Jonathan Owens.

Building an abode for permanent relaxation

While the slush glasses provided some much-needed refreshment to Simone Biles and her friends, she is working on something more permanent and long-term. Biles and Jonathan Owens are building a water-facing dream house in her home state of Texas. The elite artistic gymnast has been sharing the updates of its construction and relishing the process since September 2023.

The pictures posted by Simone Biles show the completion of new sections of the house under the expert supervision of her furry friends. The cute bulldogs of Simone Biles scout and marvel at the slowly building structure of happiness in every update. While constructing her dream abode, Biles is also stepping up her training. While she will be missing the upcoming Winter Cup, her eyes are dead serious about Paris. Will she add more gold medals to her tally of four at the 2024 Olympics?

The highly anticipated Winter Cup is looming at the door of gymnastics prowess. While many are taking part and rigourously preparing for it, other major names in the world of bars are withdrawing themselves. One of the most decorated gymnasts of all time,

Simone Biles, is not going to compete. Following her path, the promising new athlete Zoe Miller also announced her termination as well.

The event is creating excitement among the fans but also coming up with several uncertain news revolving around it. It is not only them but a couple of other gymnasts, like Jordan Chiles and many more, who have taken a step back from the event. To lighten up the audience, Miller has recently shared an adorable moment with her idol on social media.

A sneak-peak for the followers after Miller’s departure

Recently, Miller shared a story on her Instagram where she could be seen practicing on the mat beside Simone Biles. She humorously captioned the picture, “Ya’ll shoulda seen my balancing act with the roller.” Previously, she took to Instagram to share the news about her abolition of the competition. She shared a story with the caption, “With much disappointment, I wanted to share with you all that my participation in this year’s Winter Cup is no longer feasible due to an injury.”

Considering her impressive track record, Miller’s absence at the Winter Cup will be highly felt by her fans. Talking about her record, she has clinched the title of uneven bars champion at the 2023 Winter Cup. She has also coveted a gold medal under the same title, along with team events at the 2023 Pan American Games.

The Winter Cup serves as a platform to select juniors and senior members of national teams for the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Championship. Thus, the enthusiast is now waiting to witness the performances of athletes like Suni Lee, Kayla DiCello, Lexi Zeiss, and Gabby Douglas, who will be participating after eight years of hiatus.

From training companions to gymnastics stars

Despite missing out on the competition, Miller is focused on maintaining her long-term goals, where she will be representing the U.S. at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Under Biles’ mentorship, she has always showcased her potential on the international stage. They both shared a training center at the World Champions, which was originally founded by Biles’ parents and is situated in Texas.

In an interview with ChinaDaily.com, Miller said, “I think I admire her human qualities more than her gymnastics.” The 18-year-old added, “Just because I know her on a way deeper level than most people do. She’s very humble and she’s very caring and is always looking out for me.” Not only do they share the same team and practice center, but they also have an unbreakable bond between them. Now the fans are preparing themselves to witness their resilience at the upcoming big event.

It has been a little over a year since the Biles family welcomed abundant joy to their lives in the form of Baby Biles, or Ronnie.  Though health complications followed the family next, happy little updates on the little one’s growth and a shower of love haven’t fallen short.

“I’m excited to spoil you!” Simone Biles had written before the little one’s arrival. Since then, the gymnastics star hasn’t forgone an opportunity to exude love alongside the family nor a chance to introduce her domain to Ronnie subtly. Thus, as a result of influence or otherwise, Baby Biles seems to be indulging in the sport, backed by the recent update.

Simone Biles might find a new gymnastics star in the family

Sammi Biles has offered a safe space for the IVF babies community or the ones beyond through her Instagram account dedicated to Baby Biles. From the journey of emergency hospital runs to the celebrations of little steps forward, Simone Biles’ sister-in-law has cherished the path. In the tradition of keeping up, Sammi recently shared an Instagram story update on Ronnie’s playtime. As per the post, the screen in the clip’s background had a gymnastics video playing while she carried a clutch with a band-aid around.

Gymnastics videos on the iPad coming in clutch when I had to shower this morning,” Sammi wrote adding a little laughter. The update might present a little influence on aunt Simone Biles’ spread far but that wouldn’t be the first time. From Worlds 2023 to World Champions Centre, Baby Biles has often explored her aunt’s domain.

Baby Biles and a blooming interest

Early this month, Sammi Biles was out with her little one at the Simone Biles’ training center. The Olympian and her fellow gymnasts were celebrating the 2024 Invitational when Ronnie announced her arrival. Though her aunt wasn’t in the scene, gymnastics star Jordan Chiles, Zoe Miller, and more were photographed with Baby Biles on the training mats. However, that happened to be the most recent step for Ronnie, who had previously tried her hand at gymnastics.

As per Sammi’s updates, Ronnie went from cheering Simone Biles at home during the 2023 Worlds to trying to pull herself up the rings. “Watching TT & wanting to be like her,” Sammi had written. Simone Biles, chiming in on the interest, even seemed to add ‘gymnastics biography’ to the list of gifts for Baby Biles last year. Moreover, the interest also extends to include her other aunt Adria, who has been quite the gymnast herself. No matter the direction of interest, no dream falls too far away for baby Biles, surrounded with immense adoration and love.

Jonathan Owens is celebrating his wife, Simone Biles, on Valentine’s Day.

The NFL star, 28, shared photos from their February 2022 engagement announcement alongside a sweet message in honor of the special day.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to my best friend ❤️❤️ I can’t believe that it’s been 2 years since this amazing day, man does time fly. You’re my rock, i feel like i can accomplish anything as long as i have you by my side. So excited to see where life takes us, I love you so much baby ❤️❤️❤️,” wrote Owens on Instagram.

Biles reciprocated the love by writing in the comment section, “I love you more than ever baby🤍 best decision ever.” The Olympic gymnast, 26, also shared the tribute on her Instagram Story.

Owens and Biles began dating in March 2020 and tied the knot in an intimate Texas courthouse wedding in April 2023.

They held a second wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, that May. The couple was forced to start a long-distance relationship “less than a week” after the ceremony due to Owens signing a new contract with the Green Bay Packers.

“Right after Cabo, he went to Green Bay and signed, and two days later, he was up there, so it’s been different,” Biles told Hoda Kotb during a Today show appearance in September 2023.

“At least we’re both busy and focusing on our respective sports. It’s been nice,” she added, noting that it’s helped them “cherish” their moments together.

Throughout the football season, Biles was often seen attending her husband’s at his games.

After his team lost their divisional playoff game to the San Francisco 49ers in January, she penned a tribute to her husband on Instagram.

“It’s been a helluva season & there’s so much to be proud of. I’m so proud of the work you’ve put in & the confidence you exude throughout your plays. I love you Jonathan! another football season happy & healthy in the books🤞🏾,” the Olympic gold medalist wrote next to a clip of the two kissing.

Simone Biles reigns supreme in gymnastics, her 30 medals solidifying her as the most decorated champion. 23 golds gleam in her collection, etching her name in history. Yet, behind the dazzling brilliance lies a narrative of overcoming adversity and a veneer of racism she’s trying hard to fight. In 2020, according to People magazine, the Olympic champion revealed, ‘I didn’t really notice racism until 2013.’

Conversely, in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine in 2020, an award-winning renowned ballet dancer and multipotentialite delves into the profound resonance she finds between the struggles faced by black dancers, the systemic oversight they face, as portrayed in her memoir/book “Black Ballerinas,” and the challenges confronted by athletes such as Simone Biles. This Time Magazine featured dancer shed light on Simone Biles’ journey, inspiring young athletes and setting a precedence to grow.

Misty Copeland unfurls tidbits about her messiah Biles

Simone Biles

Misty Copeland reflected on Simone Biles’ experience saying hearkening back to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Biles’ admission about the weight of representation resonates deeply with Copeland, who acknowledges the frustration of feeling obligated to excel not just for personal achievement but also for the broader community. Copeland underscores the unfairness of this burden, emphasizing that not every Black dancer should bear such immense pressure, particularly considering the additional challenges and microaggressions they face daily, which their white counterparts often overlook.

In celebrating Biles as both an extraordinary athlete and a paragon of resilience, Copeland highlights the remarkable strength required to navigate societal expectations and racial barriers. She expressed, “It shows how incredible Simone Biles is. Not only is she the elite athlete superstar that she is but she’s also fighting this battle, for an entire generation and representing an entire sport.” She further added that she doesn’t understand why it’s so hard for people to see the fearlessness and strength in someone like Biles. However, despite Biles’ remarkable achievements, she has been on the receiving end of discrimination and racism throughout her career.

Simone Biles’ struggle against racial bias, decoded

The struggle of being a black athlete started eons ago. One notable instance transpired in 2013, during her emergence on the scene. Despite her stellar performance at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, where she clinched multiple medals, including a third-place finish on the balance beam, Biles faced racist remarks. Italian gymnast Carlotta Ferlito, dissatisfied with her performance, made derogatory comments implying that Biles and fellow African American gymnast Gabby Douglas were winning because of their skin colour rather than their talent and hard work.

Moreover, while promoting her partnership with the skincare brand SK-II, Biles recounted another incident of racism she encountered early in her career. She reflected on the struggle of being a young Black girl entering a sport historically dominated by white and Asian athletes, stating that the lack of representation was challenging. Although most individuals were supportive of her efforts, Biles faced a brutal instance of racism during her meteoric rise to prominence.

Valentine’s Day brought in all the loved ones appreciating their partners, and star gymnast Simone Biles wasn’t far behind. Known for her doting on her husband, NFL icon Jonathan Owens, Biles made sure to make him feel appreciated.

The day also marked their engagement, which made the celebration sweeter. Biles bombarded her socials with pictures of her and Owens, declaring her appreciation for him. The NFL icon also took to Instagram to share a glimpse of their special day.

While Biles seemed to express how she didn’t need a special day to celebrate her love for her husband, it didn’t hurt to flaunt her feelings. Her Instagram stories featured the couple happily huddled together, posing for pictures. Be it professional shoots or casual selfies, they seemed content with each other. Simone expressed her feelings for her husband in the post’s caption:

Meanwhile, Owens had a long note dedicated to his wife. Sharing glimpses from when he got down on one knee and popped the question, the NFL icon was grateful for his ‘rock’ being by his side always.

The love shower doesn’t stop there, though. Known for spoiling each other with gifts, the gymnast recently shared how Owens treated her to flowers and luxury accessories. She revealed how she had been crying all day, and her husband’s gesture melted her heart.

While being attached to the hip, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens faced some backlash

The couple might be strong enough to endure the hardships that life throws their way. However, in a recent twist of events, Owens faced the wrath of gymnastics enthusiasts after one of his statements didn’t translate properly.

In a podcast featuring various NFL safety players, Owens confessed how he never heard of his wife, Biles, before they began dating. What added fuel to the fire was the Green Bay Packers icon claiming that he was the ‘catch’ in their relationship.

Biles even suggested that fans would eventually know her as Owens’ wife, which snowballed into days’ worth of criticism and backlash. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that the couple loves and supports each other beyond limits.

Her name is an irresistible door opener. “Wow! An interview with Simone Biles? I’ll put your application in the rush box!” said the consular officer at the US embassy in Paris. One transatlantic flight later, it was the immigration officer at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, who, upon discovering the reason for our visit, reacted enthusiastically behind his counter window: “Simone? She is our treasure! You’re gonna loooove her!”

The first African-American woman to be crowned US gymnastics champion, in 2013 at the age of 16, Biles has since won seven Olympic medals – including four titles (individual, team, vault and floor) at Rio in 2016 – and 30 world medals, 23 of them gold, including individual all-around titles in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2023. The pocket-sized Texan (1.42 meters) is the most decorated gymnast of all time, regardless of gender, to the point that enlightened observers dub her “The GOAT,” for “The Greatest of All Time,” a status she assumes by sporting a goat’s head on her sequined leotards.

After a break of two years and two days, Biles made a stunning return to competition in August 2023, winning her eighth all-around individual national title in 10 years, and then, in October 2023, her sixth individual world title, in Antwerp, Belgium. On this occasion, she also pulled off a Yurchenko double pike vault, a feat never performed by a woman in competition, which became the fifth skill listed under her name in the International Gymnastics Federation’s Code of Points. All signs that she’s ready for the Paris Olympics, which will be her third in a row.

However, the 2021 Tokyo Games could have been the end of her career. While her dominance and consistency made her the overwhelming favorite in the individual all-around on three of the four events – the uneven bars being her weak point – and should have led Team USA to gold, she withdrew from most events, suffering from “twisties,” a brutal and unpredictable inability to situate herself in space during aerial maneuvers.

Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens are on the brink of moving into their dream home. Despite Simone’s hectic schedule, she never fails to keep her fans in the loop with updates on the progress. A few days back, the Olympic and World Champion gave a sneak peek of their kitchen and wardrobe on social media.

It’s worth noting Biles is completely “obsessed” with her house, pouring her passion into every aspect to construct her new house. Despite the ongoing construction, the journey from a bare plot of land to their dream residence has been a testament to their dedication and vision.

Inside Simone Biles’ epic home-building adventure

In March 2023, Simone Biles embarked on the journey of building their Texas home. This significant endeavor began two months before their wedding in San Lucas, Mexico. Throughout the process, Biles remained transparent with her fans, providing updates on the highs and lows of their home construction. Since September 2023, Biles has been meticulously chronicling the evolution of her home’s construction journey across her social media. One captivating snapshot captured her NFL star husband at the threshold of their burgeoning abode, arms raised in a gesture of anticipation and excitement. But it wasn’t that easy.

One such instance occurred in November 2023 when Biles shared the challenges she faced amidst the construction work. Via her Instagram story, she candidly expressed the frustrations of encountering unexpected issues, recounting a situation that demanded over six hours of her time. while reflecting on her progress, she acknowledged her growth and determination.

The world of gymnastics has been graced with iconic moments that continue to captivate us, leaving a mark on the sport’s history. From Nadia Comaneci’s Perfect 10 on Bars at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal to Simone Biles achieving Biles II at the 2023 World Artistic Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, and many others, these iconic moments have stood the test of time.

Adding to this prestigious list is a routine performed by a former artistic gymnast from UCLA at the NCAA championships years ago. This routine combined athleticism with artistic finesse and left a lasting impression on the gymnastics world, including the most decorated gymnast ever, Simone Biles.

A floor routine that went viral

In 2018, at the Pac-12 Championships, UCLA’s Katelyn Ohashi delivered a “Thriller” quite literally when she performed a floor routine that stunned the world. The routine featured songs like “Thriller” and “The Way You Make Me Feel” by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. With her unparalleled skill and infectious energy, Ohashi garnered a remarkable score of 9.95 out of 10, igniting the crowd to their feet in applause.

The next year, Ohashi once again performed the routine at UCLA’s gymnastics season opener on Jan. 5 and repeated it on Jan. 12 in a UCLA versus Cal showdown that earned her a perfect 10. And this score was repeated once more when Katelyn Ohashi performed the routine on Feb. 10 at a meet against Washington. Since then, Ohashi’s Michael Jackson-themed floor routine has become a viral sensation and still stands as one of the most iconic floor routines in college gymnastics. Did you know it was so iconic that it was even applauded by Simone Biles?

How Simone Biles applauded Katelyn Ohashi

She shared, “She made her mark, She put college gymnastics and gymnastics … back on the map.” As we reflect on the excellence exemplified by athletes like Ohashi and Biles,

She shared that she had planned to headline a national tour in the United States following her participation in the Tokyo Olympics. This tour was called “The Gold Over America Tour,” and Biles shared how she would visit 35 cities across the country, including major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and her hometown of Houston. While speaking of her plans, Biles mentioned that the tour will include former UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi, who gained fame for her viral floor routine.
