Simone Biles, having earned the title of the gymnastic GOAT, didn’t get a flowery road to walk on. Her parents, Nellie and Ron, supported her through thick and thin when she didn’t have enough confidence in herself. She started her gymnastic journey at age 6 and later enrolled at Bannon’s Gymnastics. But she failed to make her way to the top, despite being well-prepared for the 2013 US Classics.

After some heartbreaking falls and tumbles, the 26-year-old had encountered her gloomiest nightmares. Functioning on self-loathing thoughts, the Olympian almost lost it. Right then, Nellie and Ron jumped in as her supporting figures but struggled to calm their daughter down. Finally, Biles did heal, but the initiation was tough.

Simone Biles’ reluctance to seek help

Now known as the mental health advocate after the difficult 2020 Tokyo Olympics history, Biles was once unwilling to seek help. In a recent episode of Axonius, Biles’ partner since 2022, the family reunited for a hearty meal. Named as “Dinner with Biles”, the episode features her sister Adria Biles, best friend Rachel Moore, and parents Ron and Nellie Biles. Indulging in delectable dishes, the family dug up the 26-year-old’s career instances.

The 26-year-old said, “2013 Classics was for me a turning point. Not only because it was so disastrous, but afterward I got the proper help that I needed. I went to visit a sports psychologist, although I didn’t want to.” In response, the father said, “You were very reluctant, yes.”

The then 16-year-old made one disastrous display after the other at the 2013 US Secret Classic. She even confessed her disappointment, saying, “I fell almost on every event… I like landed on my face in my floor routine.” Falling off the uneven bars and ending shakily in all the routines was hard on her mental health.

However, therapy had provided her with mental strength, and with time, she stood tall as an inspiration to many. After her Tokyo Olympics ‘Twisties’, the 7X Olympic medalist had a great deal to share with the world.

The mental health advocate on the run

After seeking help through the years, the Olympian enlightened herself enough to pass on the knowledge to others. Oftentimes, she had focussed on keeping family close when the setbacks tried to swallow her determination. She said, “It’s really important to use that support system and know they’re there for you and not against you, because at the end of the day, us as humans, we hate asking for help.” Since she sought assistance at the right time, her life got easier.

Now, after so many highs and lows, she stands atop the podium with more than 34 medals across the Worlds and Olympics. In fact, her teammates learning from her every day, prove that she didn’t just qualify as an elite gymnast but a great human being as well.

In addition to being a seven-time Olympic medalist, Simone Biles is also a two-time SI Swimsuit model. The athlete, who officially became the most decorated gymnast of all time last month, first posed for the magazine in 2017, when she traveled to Houston for her feature with photographer James Macari.

The 26-year-old returned to the fold two years later, and this time, her work took her to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where she worked with visual artist Walter Chin. The features served as an opportunity for Biles to demonstrate her athletic prowess in front of the lens—and in both features, her resulting photographs were graceful and absolutely stunning.

While her nerves didn’t translate in the pictures either time, Biles confessed to us that she was actually more nervous for the opportunity the second time around.

“It was actually scarier the second time, but once I was on set and shooting I had such a blast,” she stated. “It’s an honor to be featured in the SI Swimsuit edition and to be a part of this group who is inspiring women and showing girls that all body types are beautiful.”

While traveling to a tropical location outside of the U.S. for her sophomore photoshoot with SI Swimsuit, Biles admitted that despite the nerves, she felt more comfortable embracing her femininity during her second brand feature.

“I… was able to shoot on a beach, which is one of my favorite places to be,”  she shared. “Also, since I’m a bit older this time around, I felt more confident in my body during the shoot.”

Below are just a few of our favorite pics from her photoshoot in Mexico, in which Biles’s confidence is abundantly apparent.

The New York Jets made the decision to waive running back Michael Carter ahead of Week 11 following another loss for the team. It hasn’t been the season they expected it to be, especially after Aaron Rodgers went down on the very first offensive series of the year.

With Carter hitting waivers, it didn’t take long for him to find a new home.

The Arizona Cardinals were awarded the running back on waivers Wednesday morning as he heads out to the desert to his new team. This could be a better situation for Carter who was buried on the Jets’ depth chart and was.

Germany’s Alica Schmidt has continued to soar in popularity across the globe, catching the attention of fans worldwide. She was recently back on the track during the World Athletics Championships at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary, adding to her reign near the top of the most photographed athletes.

When she posed for the 2012 SI Swimsuit Issue, competitive swimmer Natalie Coughlin was in her element. She participated in a unique bodypaint photoshoot that allowed her to model a beautiful painted-on blue monokini swimsuit, courtesy of makeup artist Joanne Gair.

The 41-year-old California native is a 12-time Olympic medalist for the U.S. women’s swimming team, having participated in three different Olympic games. She first competed in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, where she took home five medals, before earning six more in Beijing in 2008. Her 12th medal, a bronze, was acquired during the London Olympics in 2012, the same year she posed for the annual issue.

A pool player has forfeited her chance to win a top national title in protest at the sport allowing a transgender woman to compete against natal females.

Lynne Pinches told Telegraph Sport she has turned down an invitation to turn full-time professional amid her despair at a “U-turn” in international rules.

On Saturday, Pinches was cheered by spectators as she packed up her cue and refused to play as the final of the Ladies Champions of Champions got under way. Her opponent, Harriet Haynes, reacted with bemusement before later picking up the trophy by default.

Biles is seeking her sixth trip to the global meet, while Lee, who has been dealing with a kidney-related health issue, decided not to attend the competition

There won’t be two Olympic all-around champions competing at this month’s World Artistic Gymnastics Championships after all.

The last two women to take the crown, Americans Simone Biles (2016) and Sunisa Lee (2020), have both returned to elite competition this season after taking hiatuses since the Tokyo 2020 Games, but only Biles is set to compete at next week’s U.S. World Championships selection event in Katy, Texas, outside Houston.

Lee, who has been dealing with a kidney-related health issue since March, was invited to the camp but declined to attend, according to USA Gymnastics.

“I have been in and out of the gym just because there’s just so many doctor’s appointments, and I’m taking a lot of medication, so it kind of varies every day,” Lee told Olympics.com in an exclusive interview last month. “I could wake up very swollen some days and not be able to put my fingers inside my grips. It’s really difficult to kind of work through, but on the days that I can do stuff and I am feeling good, I try and take advantage of that and just get everything done.”

The U.S. selection event is set for Tuesday and Wednesday (19-20 September) with the highest scoring gymnast after day one locking her spot to the U.S. team.

In addition to Biles, the roster of athletes competing at the selection event include Olympic floor champion Jade Carey and team silver medallist Jordan Chiles. 2022 World team gold medallists Skye Blakely, Shilese Jones and Leanne Wong are also expected to participate.

At the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games, Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci was so far ahead of the sport the three-digit scoreboards, famously, couldn’t keep up.

When the then-14-year-old earned the sport’s first perfect score in Olympic competition, onlookers in the Montreal Forum saw the displays flash 1.00 not 10.0.

47 years later, Simone Biles finds herself pushing the sport just as Comaneci did before her, as the rule book has added an astounding five elements named in her honour over the past decade.

“I say that almost every half of a century somebody comes [and changes the sport],” Comaneci told Olympics.com in Antwerp as she took in competition at the 2023 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. “She’s this generation’s modern idol right now.”

After sitting out of competition for nearly two years following the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Biles returned competitive gymnastics earlier this year in August.

In Antwerp, she’s already made history twice: in the qualifying round, she successfully competed her daring Yurchenko double-pike vault (now the Biles II and her fifth named element) and Wednesday evening (4 October) won her 33rd World and Olympic medal, tying her for most ever with Vitaly Scherbo.

“It’s very unique in our sport to go away for two years and come back with almost the most difficulty that anybody can think about,” marveled Comaneci. “I think when you talk about gymnastics right now, everybody talks about Simone and I think this is great for the sport.”

The 2016 Rio Olympics was a one-of-a-kind event for the women’s gymnastics team of the US, especially Simone Biles. Being just 20 years old, she was a crucial member of ‘the final five’. The team also boasted gymnastic greats like Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Madison Kocian and Laurie Hernandez. Beyond the competition, the women have been sharing beautiful camaraderie since training days.

Having said so, though the game has long ended, the friendship remained intact until this date. Oftentimes, the girls reunite for a fun night, especially Biles, Raisman, and Hernandez. It was nothing short of surprising to see how the fellow athletes extended support at the time of Biles’ ‘twisties’. Undoubtedly, they strengthened their bond more with each passing day. In the same vein, a recent photo has surfaced, which took the netizens down memory lane.

Simone Biles’ Rio teammate has a special update

Recently, the three comrades who bonded over the Olympics, reunited for a fun night. The Hernandez, being the youngest of the three, is also the goofiest. Posting pictures from their day out on her Instagram, the 23-year-old took her fans back to 2016, when the US team clinched gold.

Hernandez took to her Insta handle to post a frame-worthy picture featuring the three gymnasts standing next to each other. Captioned the post as, “cheese!” The youngest was in the middle, with one arm around the 29-year-old and another around the 26-year-old Olympian. In response, Biles shared the post as her Insta story with the caption, “2016” with a teary-eyed emoji. It was clear that the gymnastic line-up reminded her of the most memorable event of her life.

The picture boasted the 4X Olympic gold medalist on the extreme left, donning a white blazer over a black rib knit. Hernandez had a black and white combination as well, and to balance both of them out, the retired gymnast sported a chocolate brown attire.

The Olympian, not skipping her signature trend, made an appearance with Raisman this time. Usually, it’s her favorite Zoe Miller in the frame with her. But for a change, the two fellow Rio Olympians got ready with each other, but not for the competition.

GRWM for the night

Ahead of her 2024 Paris Olympics, the 26-year-old Olympian isn’t taking her fellow competitors lightly. But in this case, there’s no competition as both her girls are not Olympic participants anymore. In a recent video, Biles shared a screen with the 29-year-old in a ‘grmw’ trend. She captioned the post as, “Getting ready together again, but not for a competition this time. #bittersweet #riololympics2016 “. The sweet part in her caption indicated the event as a whole and the amazing friendships.

The video starred the two gymnasts in their bathrobes, grooving to the beats of “Greedy” by Tate McRae. They instantly transitioned into their fashionista selves in a jiffy while several fans hopped in to drop comments like “OG GOATs” and “you two are legends”.

As the Paris Olympic door nears, the gymnasts are girding up for the best performances. Though Simone Biles is busy reuniting with her long-term friends, her practice is in full-swing as well.

Just when we think Simone Biles and her hubby can’t get any cuter, the power couple prove us wrong. The 26-year-old, who is the most decorated gymnast in history, and Jonathan Owens tied the knot this spring, and the two have been blessing our Instagram feeds with adorable content since they began dating three years ago.

However, Biles and the 28-year-old Green Bay Packers safety really upped the cuteness factor with their recent fall-themed photoshoot. The Olympic gold medalist shared two different Instagram carousels of adorable snaps captured by Khayla Kanitz Photography in the perfect fall setting.

In addition to being perfectly sweet, the pair provided a masterclass in how to coordinate styling with a partner. In the first set of photos, the couple both wore black, while they opted for fun, yet complimentary prints in the second.

We’re not the only ones who noticed how precious the pics were, either, as plenty of the gymnast’s 7.1 million followers piped in to the comments section.

“The way they look at each other is beautiful,” one person observed.

“You look so amazing baby 🧡,” Owens gushed of his wife.

“If someone gave me a magic wand and said, ‘Create an adorable couple,’ this is it,” a fan added. “These two are it. It’s pretty easy to see their love lasting a lifetime!”

Simone Biles has gained popularity not only for gymnastics but also for keeping her loved ones closer at all times. Oftentimes, she makes appearances with her family for a fun dinner night, or steps out with her husband for a post-game date night. In addition, her fans recently spotted her with her girl gang, partying hard at Kayla Simone’s birthday bash. However, the one person in her girl tribe whom she keeps the closest is her sister, Adria Biles.

Growing up under the same roof as her star gymnast sister, Adria developed a passion for flying through the air. The fact that she was raised in a gymnastic household motivated her to continue elite gymnastics for 10 years. Popularly known for being more ‘fearless’ than her sister, Adria grew a penchant for softball too. Having said that, she had her eyes glued on Janae Jefferson, whom she started dating in June 2022. Since then, the couple never stopped PDA-ing. But this time, there’s a special post for the netizens.

Simone Biles’ sister’s girlfriend clinches gold

In a recent Instagram story, the 26-year-old Olympian shared frame with Janae Jefferson, the team member of the US women’s national softball team. Captioned it as, “so many things to celebrate this weekend. Congrats to my sisters gf on pan am GOLD. LFG!!!!!” Recently, at the 2023 Pan-American Games, the US women’s softball team walked home with their 10th Pan-Am gold. As victorious as the news is, the recent shout out by the Olympian herself grabbed more attention.

After being selected for the 2022 World Games as a member of the US softball team, the 24-year-old anchored her team to a gold. With several accolades in her name, Jefferson has won a significant place in younger Biles’ heart as well. Hyping each other with sappy posts and adorable captions, the athletic couple always keeps their social fans on toes

Simone Biles

The 24-year-old, who once walked in her sister’s footsteps, left gymnastics in 2016. Now she makes TV appearances, but what needs special mention is, she is also passionate about pursuing hygiene. In a post from 2020, she declared being a part of dental assisting. Though not much information has surfaced, the world recognizes her as a gymnast even now.

Though Simone Biles acknowledged, “My sister has always been fearless,” her love for her baby sister knew no bounds. Having spent their early life in foster care, the older Biles learned to be a protective sister, almost like a mother.

The Olympian mothered her sister

Shannon Biles, their biological mother, had decided to leave the kids at a foster care for some reason. While moving away from the family, the Olympian stepped in her mother’s shoes and waited for a kind heart to rescue them. Since then, took care of Adria . Thankfully, the sisters didn’t get separated at the foster care.

The 7X Olympic medalist said,“I wanted to take care of Adria obviously because she was the baby. And I just felt like I need to look out for her because if family doesn’t look out for you, who’s going to?” Nellie Biles, who’s her biological grandmother, had adopted the sisters. She said, “She really was nurturing and mothering to Adria. They had a very close bond, and to this day, that bond is still there.

Simone Biles has returned as the most decorated gymnast of all time after her triumph at the 2023 Worlds. Following up on her success, the mats and poles don’t seem to be the primary focus for the gymnast just yet. The 26-year-old, who currently stands to own 37 medals to her name, has been seen taking some time off. Visiting her husband Jonathan Owens for his games or spending doting time with her girl besties, gushing moments, has been Simone’s schedule lately.

Over the past weekend, Simone Biles gathered with her friends to celebrate Kayla Simone. To commence the celebrations, the 7 friends posed for a fun shoot; sharing a glimpse of what the day entailed. However, following up with some Behind the Scenes, the much-awaited first looks are now out for the spectators.

Simone Biles sports new looks

Later last weekend, Simone got together with her friends to celebrate the Birthday of Kayla Simone. The host, Kayla, revealed that her friends were in for a surprise as she arranged a JC Penny photoshoot. “I surprised my friends with a JCPenney photoshoot and here’s how it went…” Kayla wrote sharing a BTS reel of the same. And today on the 14th, the all-smiles and laughs video has put forth the results it curated of the gang sporting denim looks.

One of Simone’s friends, Sam shared the first looks from the photoshoot on her Instagram page. “My girls,” she wrote as the 7 posed bright and goofy. Along with the rest of her friends, Biles was also joined by sister Adria, who seemed to be just as much in awe as the spectators. “Love youuuu,” she commented. Interestingly, as the celebrations took a coveted turn with fun updates, celebrating Kayla hadn’t been the only heartwarming moment on Simone’s list.

Biles reunites with fellow gymnast

The 2016 US women’s gymnastics squad for the Rio Olympics was one of the most cheered-for rosters. Dubbed the ‘final five,’ Simone Biles was joined by Aly Raisman, and Kyla Ross among others. Years later, the legendary gymnast, united with Aly Raisman for a notable ‘get ready with me’ TikTok update. The duo were seen participating in a transition video, shifting from bathrobes to glam outfits. Simone captioned, “Getting ready together again, but not for a competition this time, bittersweet.

Risman retired from gymnastics in 2020 as Simone headed to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Though the 26-year-old has since attained great heights in her career, she has remained grounded. From often meeting Risman to celebrating the people around her, Simone remains a treat to watch and follow, on and off the mats.

Simone Biles has been enjoying her time off the mat. The gymnastics queen, who has ended her 2023 season, is in a celebration mood since showcasing her dominance at the World Gymnastics Championships. From cheering on NFL games to embracing Halloween weekend in impeccable style, from fall photoshoots with her Green Bay Packers’ husband, Jonathan Owens, to girls’ night with her best friends back home in Houston, Biles has been seizing every opportunity to bask in the festivities.

Adding to the festivities, Biles recently orchestrated a special celebration for her little sister, Adria Biles, showing genuine love and warmth within her family. Amidst these jubilant moments, Jonathan Owens, her endearing husband, sent her a quirky love note, gushing over the legend.

Jonathan Owens gushes over his wife, Simone Biles, with a quirky love note

Simone Biles recently took to Instagram to share a stunning picture. Biles looked effortlessly stylish, dressed in a chic light blue skirt set with her hair and makeup on fleek. She struck a pose alongside her close friend Sam Roy while the two stylishly clinked their glasses filled with pink drinks. Biles wrote in the caption of her picture, “But first, tequila,” accompanied by a disco ball, a white heart, and clinking glasses emojis.

Thousands of likes and comments poured in to complement the beautiful Olympian, but one stood out amongst the rest. Jonathan Owens, in awe of his wife’s charm, took to the comment section and left multiple heart-eye emojis gushing over his lady love. The night held a special significance for Biles, as the jubilation marked a unique celebration for her little sister, Adria Biles, and her better half.

The reason for the celebrations

In her Instagram stories, Simone Biles posed with Janae Jefferson, her sister’s beloved girlfriend. The snapshot captured the two women, drinks in hand, beaming with joy, and Biles shared the source of their happiness with followers in an endearing message. She penned in her story, “So many things to celebrate this weekend,” with a heart emoji. She continued writing, “Congrats to my sisters of on gf Pan Am GOLD Janae Jefferson. LFG!!!!!!!!!!” Jefferson, an American professional softball player for the Texas Smoke and a valued member of the United States women’s national softball team, has been making waves in her collegiate career. She recently became the second Texas player in history to be selected as a four-time NFCA All-American.

In her first season with the Texas Smoke, Jefferson was named the WPF Player of the Year and earned a spot on the All-WPF Team during the 2023 Women’s Professional Fastpitch season. Her outstanding performance helped lead the Texas Smokes to the WPF playoffs in their inaugural season, culminating in a championship win where she was named the Championship Series MVP. Adria and Janae have never shied away from expressing their love for each other, and the Biles clan, too, has warmly welcomed Jefferson into their lives and family.

The warm tribute and festivities for Janae Jefferson, surrounded by Simone, Adria, and their friends, showed the tight bond and love between them.

The gymnastic GOAT Simone Biles made one of the best decisions of her life when she tied the knot with Jonathan Owens. The Green Bay Packers NFL safety may not be able to cheer on his wife in person, but he never leaves any stone unturned to acknowledge her efforts. Backing each other through social media posts mainly, a similar Instagram story has surfaced lately.

America’s Favorite Video Today

The iconic People magazine mostly covers inside stories of gymnasts, more specifically athletes. A recent coverage of them included Jonathan Owens, the gorgeous man in all his glory, listed among the sexiest athletes. Undoubtedly, his wife hopped in to snatch her husband from fans’ eyes. But what caught the most attention? The NFL safety’s way of supporting her possessiveness.

Simone Biles’ husband supports his protective wife

With screenshots of People magazine’s “Meet 21 of the Sexiest Men in Sports” page, the 26-year-old Olympian took pride in her husband’s sexy looks. Moreover, she warned everyone to stay away, since Owens is already hers. She captioned her Instagram story as “easy people….. he’s mine, but he’s sexy!!!” Clearly alerting people to stay away. Biles paired the caption with a white heart and a hot face emoji.

In response, her star husband appreciated his wife and confirmed that he’s absolutely hers. He captioned this story with, “All yours baby,” with a red heart and crossed fingers emoji. Dressed in his sporting gears, it’s no surprise that the 1.8m man has women fangirling over him. But this is not something Simone Biles approves of.

Though the husband makes up to his wife with flowers and date nights now and then, he likes the proprietorial side of the Olympian. Even when he accepts loss in his game, his wife never lets him feel low. So, as a responsible husband and a great partner, supporting his wife’s possessive ‘endeavors’ comes naturally out of love.

Simone Biles

For a wife who sports her husband’s last name in the form of a necklace, it’s difficult to stay ignorant. In the same vein, in an NFL match from some time ago, the 7X Olympic medalist graced the bleachers to only get the shock of her life.

Biles as the possessive wife

This current NFL season wasn’t the first one where the wife went topsy-turvy over her husband’s in-game hotness. In a game from early this year, she appeared with one of her friends. But her attention wasn’t on the game, but on Owens. Posting a candid video on Snapchat, she wrote, “Who you talking to, cause it ain’t me baby”. The video featured the 28-year-old busy on his phone, most probably engaged in a conversation with his coach.

However, the couple’s fanbase witnessed the plot thickening with Biles resorting to her Instagram next. There she posted the same with the caption, “When he talking to someone during a game but it ain’t you WT*”. Like the recent 2023 NFL season had Biles in Owens’ customized jersey, the previous game also saw her in an oversized No. 34 tee.

As the Green Bay Packers are looking forward to step into the 11th week, Owens has himself all prepped up. On the other hand, its Biles’ worth-the-wait Olympic entry next year. Hopefully, her fans will leave their seats to applaud again.
