Terence Crawford is officially done with fighting mandatory challengers and nondescript opponents for paychecks that won’t change his life.

After making tens of millions for his win against Errol Spence Jr., Crawford admitted that from here on out, only big fights interest him. At the age of 36, it isn’t just a fascination with making top dollar but Crawford would love to add a bit more icing on a Hall of Fame level cake.

The Omaha, Nebraska, native is a fan of making history. With his win over Spence, he became the first undisputed champion in two weight classes, no one has done it more than once.

If he wanted, Crawford could remove his gloves, kick off his boxing shoes, and walk off into retirement. He would be satisfied if he did but Crawford is going for the trifecta.

Originally, Crawford was interested in moving up to the junior middleweight division to take on Jermell Charlo for his undisputed status. But, as luck would have it, Charlo was stripped of his WBO title and would ultimately go on to lose against Canelo Alvarez.

Presently, only Alvarez can give Crawford what he desires. There might be 21 pounds in-between them but there’s money to be made and a legacy to cement in fighting Alvarez.

To some, Crawford’s ambitions are teetering on lunacy. But, Tyson Fury, more than most, knows a thing or two about laughing in the face of those who believe he’s lost his mind.

On paper, beating Alvarez might seem like an impossible task considering that Crawford would have to move up three weight classes. Still, from Fury’s point of view, even if the rest of the world doesn’t think he can do it, as long as Crawford believes in himself, that’s all that matters.

“He’s an awesome fighter, both of them are,” Fury told Fight Hub TV. “I think it’s a good fight. If he believes in himself then go for it.”

Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou has called out Anthony Joshua for a bout as he looks ahead to more boxing fights after facing Tyson Fury on Saturday (today) in Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou walked out on the UFC to pursue boxing and held talks to fight Deontay Wilder and Joshua.

Both fights still remain possible in the future as the Cameroonian looks set for a stint in boxing having confidently predicted he will beat Fury then face him again in a rematch.

“I think if I am victorious we are going to run it back, for sure. Then maybe see Anthony Joshua after,” Ngannou told Sky Sports.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn met with the MMA star to discuss a potential bout with Joshua following his UFC exit but Ngannou instead chose to finalise a deal with WBC champ Fury.

Anthony Joshua

Now Hearn has talked down the crossover clash, which may limit any shot of Joshua facing the boxing newcomer telling Boxing Social, “If it’s fought at any kind of pace, I don’t feel like Francis Ngannou can physically do more than four, five rounds.

“I don’t mean that disrespectfully. They’re not used to that kind of fighting. I know MMA is still high intensity, but trust me, you’ll see. Fury may play with him and just hold him up. If Fury wants to, he’ll stop him in the first round, no problem.

“If not, he’ll school him, get him to gas out and stop him on his feet. He (Ngannou) can’t win a round. He can’t hurt him (Fury).”

“He could actually put his chin out and let Ngannou hit him clean and it wouldn’t bother him, honestly. They’re not strikers like boxers.”

The highly anticipated bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been drowning in tension.’The Gypsy King’ has disclosed that his much-anticipated undisputed Heavyweight clash with ‘The Cat’ is scheduled for the 23rd of December, just two days before Christmas.

However recently, Tyson Fury took it to a whole new level. In a shocking turn of events, the Heavyweight champion unleashed a torrent of threats and insults towards his rival, Oleksandr Usyk, leaving the boxing world in shock and anticipation.

Tyson Fury has a colorful nickname for Usyk

Tyson Fury’s outburst, filled with expletives and fiery promises, came after their much-anticipated title match after the date announcement. This leaves fans and pundits wondering about the fate of this colossal showdown. The champion, never one to mince words, labeled Usyk with derogatory terms, questioning his integrity and character. You sick is a dirty little slimy  f***r actually.  We have got something on you little sausage.”

The boxing community was left buzzing after Fury’s explicit tirade, wondering what could have provoked such an intense reaction. The verbal onslaught, delivered in Tyson’s typical unfiltered style, ignited curiosity and concern among fans worldwide. As the storm of controversy rages, one question hangs in the air: what does Tyson Fury have up his sleeve?

Fury’s choice of words, though inflammatory, has undeniably hooked the audience’s attention. His bold threat to expose Usyk hints at a deeper narrative. For one it goes beyond the confines of the boxing ring. While Fury’s language may be crude, his determination to unearth the truth has struck a chord with fans who now eagerly await the revelations he promised.Countdown to Glory

Currently, Fury is in Riyadh, diligently preparing for his upcoming face-off against UFC fighter Francis Ngannou scheduled for this Saturday. Despite the eight-week gap between this weekend’s tune-up bout and the proposed date to battle Usyk, Fury remains unfazed, displaying his confidence in his ability to meet this challenging timeline. This revelation adds an extra layer of anticipation to an already eagerly awaited match. Fans await the clash between these two Heavyweight titans on the brink of the holiday season.

Last month, the parties eagerly anticipating this battle signed the contracts. This monumental event will unfold in Riyadh. According to The Guardian, this marks the first undisputed contest in the Heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis triumphed over Evander Holyfield at Madison Square Garden in 1999, a match where all the coveted belts were on the line.

As the days unfold, the boxing world holds its breath, waiting for Fury’s bombshell to drop. Whatever revelation emerges, it will undoubtedly reshape the narrative of this rivalry and possibly even the entire sport. Currently, everyone is focused on Tyson Fury, the man who bravely confronted his opponent. However, not only with his fists but also with words that reverberate throughout the boxing world. Thus creating a sense of anticipation and intrigue wherever they land.

British boxer Tyson Fury unintentionally revealed the date for his fight against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. On December 23, just two days before Christmas, the two heavyweights will clash in Riyadh, United Arab Emirates, with all the belts on the line.

Queensberry and K2 promotions announced the bout on September 29, with no date set yet. However, Fury seemingly revealed it to Sky Sports.

“We’ve signed the contracts. December 23, that’s out there, isn’t it?” the WBC champion said, adding that “It’s only eight weeks away from Saturday. Why not?”

It is worth remembering that Fury is currently in Riyadh, preparing for his clash against UFC fighter Francis Ngannou on Saturday. Nevertheless, the Briton doesn’t seem to be concerned about such a short time between his two fights.

It would be a Christmas Bonus for Fury

“I’ve not even had a fight this year, so to get two before the end of the year would be fantastic,”Fury stated. “If it happens on December 23, I’ll be playing that song: ‘Driving Home for Christmas.'”

Double payday,” the champion asserted. “There’ll be a nice big turkey in the Fury household this Christmas.”

“I won’t land back in the UK until Christmas Eve, late Christmas Eve, and if we get a delay, I’ll be spending Christmas with the reindeers in the airport,” he joked.

Fury will not risk his WBC title against Ngannou in the October 28 fight.

However, Fury’s belt will be on the line in the December fight. At the same time, Usyk will put his IBF, WBA, and WBO belts on the line.

Promoter Bob Arum says he knew a deal between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk was inevitable once Turki Alalshikh entered the picture.

Talks between Fury, the WBC titlist from England, and Usyk, the unified WBO, WBA, IBO, IBF champion from Ukraine, were repeatedly stymied in the past year, with Fury eventually pivoting to a fight with ex-UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou; they fight this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

But Fury and Usyk eventually announced their fight last month, and depending on Fury’s outing against Ngannou, that fight, according to multiple reports, could take place either on Dec. 23 or in January.

Arum, whose Top Rank co-promotes Fury, said he knew Fury vs. Usyk would finally be signed after Saudi Arabia’s Alalshikh, Chairman of The General Entertainment Authority and head of Riyadh Season, came on board. Arum cited Alalshikh’s “direct” access to Saudi Arabia’s state funds as a key reason why he felt so confident. Alalshikh’s GEA is also responsible for Fury Vs. Ngannou.

tyson fury and oleksandr usyk

“I think all credit goes to Prince Turki and his organization because he was able to secure this fight,” Arum told Fight Hub TV. “He’s a no-nonsense guy who directly controls the sovereign fund in Saudi Arabia for entertainment. So, the fighters knew that once they signed contracts, the money would be there and they weren’t dealing with any middlemen.

“Once Prince Turki was in the picture, I was convinced that this fight was going to happen because like Tyson’s experience in the Ngannou fight, when he signed it, most of his purse was already in his bank account. It’s no nonsense and it’s good on his business and I was confident that this fight was going to happen once Prince Turki for Saudi Arabia decided that that’s the fight that the Kingdom wanted.”

The signing of Fury-Usyk comes amid the fallout of another intriguing heavyweight bout that was expected to take place in Saudi Arabia involving former titlists Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua. But the backer for that fight, Skill Challenge Entertainment, was apparently unable to deliver the funds. Unlike Alalshikh, Arum said, Skill Challenge was simply a middleman.

“Of course, of course, the middleman, even if the middleman came from Saudi Arabia, like Skill Challenge, they can make a deal but then they’d have to go and get the funds from the sovereign fund,” Arum said. “And maybe yes they did it, when Usyk fought Joshua the second time, but you know, that wasn’t always going to be the case. Now with Prince Turki who controls the sovereign fund as far as entertainment, you’re not dealing with the middlemen, you’re dealing with the source.”

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has ridiculed his domestic rival Anthony Joshua for his recent statements which suggested a potential 2024 doubleheader event.

Joshua is currently trying to finalize a deal to collide with former champion Deontay Wilder in the first quarter of 2024.

According to Joshua, the management group which regulates boxing in Saudi Arabia are interested in positioning his fight with Wilder as the co-featured attraction to Fury’s undisputed fight with IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury shot down Joshua’s statements – claiming the former champ is “begging” to be a part of the card.

“It’s quite embarrassing really when you’ve got a former heavyweight world champion begging for a fight, begging to be on the undercard,” Fury told IFL TV.

“Is he a child or what? He wants to go on my undercard? Him vs Wilder? Battle of the biggest loser? Go and get your own show.”

Fury vs. Usyk is being targeted to take place in the month of December in Saudi Arabia, but no date has been confirmed.

Fury will first return to the ring on Saturday night, in Saudi Arabia, where he faces former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a non-title crossover boxing match.

Usyk revealed in recent interviews that he plans to be ringside to watch Fury’s performance in the fight.

However, Fury is irritated because he believes Usyk is attempting draw attention to himself.

“I say this, f— Usyk. It’s not about him. This is the Tyson Fury show. It’s about me and Francis Ngannou,” Fury told The Daily Mail.

“The African King is meeting the Gypsy King and you know, we are throwing it down. So, anything that happens after that, happens after that and anything before that, is not important.”

Francis Ngannou sets sights on ambitious plan with Anthony Joshua in sights

Francis Ngannou is a massive underdog when he faces Tyson Fury in Riyadh on Saturday but the former UFC champion is already plotting a duel with Anthony Joshua.

MMA superstar Francis Ngannou makes his professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury this weekend, but the former UFC heavyweight champion is already lining up a fight with Anthony Joshua. Ngannou faces WBC heavyweight king Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia on Saturday in one of the biggest crossover events in combat sports history

Ngannou, 37, is a massive underdog against the “Gypsy King”, underlined by the fact Fury has already booked a showdown with Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight crown, which is pencilled in for December 23 in Saudi Arabia. But the Cameroonian believes he has the knockout power to pull off a stunning upset in the Middle East.

All but one of Ngannou’s 17 mixed martial arts victories came inside the distance and his rise to UFC glory, dethroning Stipe Miocic in 2021, made him one of the most feared fighters on the planet. If he upsets the odds in Riyadh on Saturday, Ngannou has his sights set on Fury’s countryman Joshua at London’s Wembley Stadium, although he would have to navigate his way through a rematch with Fury first.

“I think we’re going to run it back for sure first, then maybe see Anthony Joshua,” Ngannou told Sky Sports. “Possibly, I can’t tell, but I’m very excited by (fighting at Wembley). I was in Wembley Stadium when Fury fought Dillian Whyte, the vibe there was quite electric, was quite exciting. I think I’d like to have that dynamic.”

Anthony Joshua

oddsmakers for Saturday’s fight, while Ngannou is priced +750, meaning it would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport if the Englishman were to taste defeat.

Ngannou’s challenge is made all the more difficult by inactivity. He has not competed in the octagon for almost two years, with his UFC career coming to an end with a points win over Ciryl Gane to defend the world heavyweight title in January 2022. Ngannou has since signed with the Professional Fighters League but is yet to make his debut in the promotion.

Joshua is preparing for a fight with former world champion Deontay Wilder which is set to be staged in the Middle East, but negotiations have dragged on and the contest is in doubt. Two-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist Joshua last fought in August, knocking out Finland’s Robert Helenius.

Unlike Ngannou, Fury insists he has no interest in fighting Joshua one day. He told IFL TV: “That bird has flown because he is out in the cold, frozen, and that’s it. [Joshua and Wilder] are not relevant to me and I shouldn’t be relevant to them at all.

“They don’t mean anything to me, they’re finished. They are out in the cold. I laugh the loudest now, it is what it is.”

Anthony Joshua has revealed he could fight American boxer Deontay Wilder on the same night as Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk in what would be one of the biggest events in boxing history. The potential double bill has already been labeled as a “mega card,” although is yet to be officially confirmed

The fight night comes amid Fury and Usyk’s heavyweight bout that was agreed in October. The pair will compete for the undisputed title – with Fury being the current holder of the WBC belt, and Usyk holding the WBA, WBO and IBF titles – and after Fury has fought Francis Ngannou.

Joshua is scheduled to fight Wilder having recently defeated Robert Helenius and Jermaine Franklin this year. Wilder is the obvious opponent for the former two-time unified world heavyweight champion, with the American last competing in October 2022 where he also fought, and defeated, Helenius.

Reports that all four fighters could compete on the same night come following a recent admission from Joshua. “They want to put Usyk-Fury, Joshua-Wilder on the same night. That might not happen until April,” Joshua said, speaking ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury

“When Fury gets [through] Ngannou, it is going to be late October, early November, so I doubt he will now prepare of Usyk and fight in December, it’s too short,” Joshua added.

“So the next window will probably be in March-April, so that’s probably when the undisputed fight will potentially happen. Then obviously what we are being told is they want to make it a mega card and they like the sound of Joshua v Wilder on the same card as well.”

Before any such bout, Fury will have to face former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou first. The pair will touch gloves on Oct. 28 in Riyadh in a bout that will not go towards either fighter’s records.

Joshua went on to claim that he plans to fight this December at the 02 or Wembley Arena in London, but it is unclear who his opponent could be. “It won’t be a championship fighter – which is Usyk and Fury,” he said. “It won’t be none of them guys and I am not too sure about the Wilder situation.

Joshua added that no date has been set for his bout against Wilder. “It feels like a land grab at the moment,” he said. “Some fighters want to maximise their revenue. When I first started, you start, you build up your record, you fight and then you fight the big fights.

“But it is like, ‘Where can we get the most money for the fight?’ And they want to go to Saudi Arabia so they are waiting for the undisputed fight. For my career, I have got to stay busy. And in terms of an opponent for December we have got to find the right opponent.”

It looks like Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are going to reignite heavyweight boxing.

Heavyweight boxing has long been a subject of relentless criticism from the fight world for its apprehension of pairing up top-tier talents and champions. As per the latest reports, all that is about to change.

Per a report by Boxing News 24/7, Joshua has said to BBC that his super fight against ‘The Bronze Bomber’ would be paired up alongside the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk undisputed clash.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

Earlier this month, ‘The Gypsy King’ confirmed the undisputed clash on Instagram. The fight is being targeted for this December or January next year.

However, Fury is scheduled to face former UFC heavyweight kingpin Francis Ngannou later this month, so many, including Joshua, are wary about the WBC champion’s ability to fight in such a turnaround.

Talking about fighting Wilder on the same card as the heavyweight unification bout, Anthony Joshua said:

The former unified champion is 26-3 in his career. In his most recent fight, ‘AJ’ overcame early adversity to knock out Robert Helenius in the seventh round.

After failing to reclaim his WBC championship against Fury, Deontay Wilder also defeated Helenius in his most recent fight. However, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ clinched a more convincing win against the Swede, knocking him out in the first round.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will come face-to-face with the hardest puncher in the UFCFrancis Ngannou, on 28 October. The matchup is said to be the biggest crossover boxing event since Conor McGregor took on the undefeated Floyd Mayweather. But that’s not the only major development involving Tyson Fury. In September, promoter Frank Warren confirmed the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Fury.

However, amidst all the excitement about Fury’s two fights in Saudi Arabia, some questions have taken over the boxing world. Despite being the heavy crowd favorite, what if Fury were to lose the fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in the upcoming fight? How would that unexpected result affect the showdown with Oleksandr Usyk set for late December? Would that fight even happen?

What if Francis Ngannou pulls an upset?

Back in March, when Fury’s fight with Usyk fell apart, Fury faced significant criticism from the public. However, Fury made good on his word by scheduling the fight with Usyk later this year. Nevertheless, the WBC champion will have to face Francis Ngannou just more than a week from today. So, what happens if Fury loses to Ngannanou in the upcoming fight?

To put it simply, Fury will lose his reputation as the best heavyweight champion in the world. What’s more, there are no titles on the line in the Ngannou fight. So Fury is not in a position to lose his titles to the Cameroonian mixed martial artist. However, he will become the laughing stock because he will be the first well-known and well-respected boxer to lose a boxing match to an MMA fighter.

Would the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight even happen?

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

Francis Ngannou is one of the biggest names in the UFC world. There’s no doubt his punches pack significant power behind them. So, it’s not far-fetched to think that if Ngannou lands the right punch at the right spot, Fury can go down like anyone else. However, even if the inevitable happens in the upcoming fight, there are no indications that the result will cancel the fight between Fury and Usyk.

Will it dampen Fury’s supremacy in the heavyweight division? Absolutely! But the fact of the matter is that Fury has defeated other dangerous opponents like Deontay WilderWladimir Klitschko, and Dillian White. Moreover, Oleksandr Usyk has shown eagerness to face Fury in the ring. So, the chances of him backing out despite Fury’s hypothetical loss should not change his mind. However, only time can tell what will happen if the unthinkable happens later this month

In the world of boxing, uncertainty often looms nearby. And the eminent clash between Fury and Ngannou is the best example. Regardless of what happens in the upcoming fight, indications are it will be the biggest spectacle of the year. However, the burning question is–who do you think will win the upcoming matchup? If Fury does what fans are expecting from him against Ngannou, will he be able to take down Oleksandr Usyk later?
