WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, has told Anthony Joshua he is not in line for a shot at the ‘Gypsy King’, and that he should ‘get to the back of the queue’.

For years the pair have flirted with the idea of meeting in the ring, with talks breaking down in 2022 despite financial terms being agreed, taking one of the most eagerly anticipated boxing match-ups away from the fans.

At one point, it looked as though there could be an undisputed heavyweight title fight for the first time since the 1990s, with the all-British affair being likely to be one of the biggest fights in British history.

That’s a far cry from the present attitude after Joshua‘s unconvincing wins following his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, with Fury not even entertaining the idea of fighting someone he considers a ‘bum’.

Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury

“He’s just a big bum dosser who’s been knocked out and had three losses,” Fury said to ‘Daily Mail Sport Boxing’. “You can’t even compare him to me anymore, it’s not even a fight, I don’t even look forward to fighting him, it’s not a fight anymore.

“I’m not interested. The bubble has been burst. Its not so much interesting for me to beat AJ anymore. He’s already been beat, he’s been spanked by Usyk twice and knocked out by a fat man [Ruiz Jr.] so it’s not of my interest to beat him.”

He added: “Get to the back of the queue. The fight is off the cards, it’s gone, dead. The fight was off the cards when he got beat.”

A heavyweight who has fought and lost to Tyson Fury no fewer than three times has wished the WBC champion’s future opponent ‘good luck.’

The challenge faced by Oleksandr Usyk when he finally gets into the ring with The Gypsy King sure is a big one. Fury is yet to lose in his 33-fight professional career and even in moments of huge adversity such as when he got a terrible cut against Otto Wallin, and was knocked down heavily by the Deontay Wilder toward the end of their first fight, Fury has always managed to rally.

He stands 6″9 tall with a reach of 216cm, has famously good feet, quick hands, and has even added knockout power to his game since going up with the Kronk gym’s Detroit coach Sugar Hill.

One man who knows how hard it is to lay hands on Fury is British contender Derek Chisora. The pair have fought three times – firstly in 2011 when Fury won a unanimous points decision, then twice more, both of which ended in knockout losses for ‘Del Boy‘.

Speaking to The Schmo, he was asked what advice he might have for Usyk given his ring experiences with Fury.

Usyk – who was recently dubbed the heavyweight Lomachenko – is no slouch as a former undisputed cruiserweight king turned unbeaten heavyweight who has beaten Chisora, twice beaten Anthony Joshua and recently saw off the challenge of Daniel Dubois to retain his WBA, WBO and IBF world title belts.

The fight with Fury will be the first undisputed fight at heavyweight in 24 years and is one the world eagerly awaits.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk look to make history in the heavyweight division by fighting to crown the first four-belt undisputed champion.

Fury, who brings the WBC belt to the table, has signed to face Usyk – WBA, WBO and IBF champ – following his crossover bout with Francis Ngannou this month, with the event expected in early 2024.

Should ‘The Gypsy King’ be able to pull it off, he will be just the second fighter from the UK to become undisputed in the four-belt era – the first being Scotland’s Josh Taylor.

Taylor reigned as sole super-lightweight titlist from May 2021 for a year following a campaign in the trenches culminating in his crowning moment against José Ramírez in Las Vegas – a unanimous decision victory.

And Taylor told Gareth A Davies that, although Usyk would prove to be tricky, the Brit would be leaving the ring undisputed once again.

He subscribes to the idea that the Ukrainian will simply not be big enough to beat Fury, but says he’ll be a ‘nightmare’ for lineal champion.

Once Fury’s crossover bout with Ngannou is done and dusted, it’s expected a fight date will be announced. Usyk will be ringside for the event.

Tyson Fury has labelled Anthony Joshua a ‘bum’ and says a potential fight is off the cards.

On October 28, Fury will fight former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou under boxing rules and then he will go straight into an undisputed world title clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

After that, the only major boxing fight left for ‘The Gypsy King’ is against Anthony Joshua, and it would arguably be the biggest of the lot.

The pair have attempted to make the fight on a number of occasions, but for various reasons, negotiations have always collapsed.

Unfortunately, however, with Joshua now having three losses on his record, one against Andy Ruiz Jr and two against Usyk, Fury is no longer interested in the fight.

“I don’t really care what he says, he’s a bum in my opinion,” Fury told Daily Mail Sport Boxing.

“You can’t even compare him to me anymore, it’s not even a fight, I don’t even look forward to fighting him, it’s not a fight anymore.

“Its not so much interesting for me to beat AJ anymore. He’s already been beat, he’s been spanked by Usyk twice and knocked out by a fat man so it’s not of my interest to beat him.

“I’m fighting a guy who’s in his prime who’s a champion, who’s bigger than him, stronger than him and who’s a bigger knockout puncher than him in Ngannou.

“Get to the back of the queue. The fight is off the cards, it’s gone, dead. The fight was off the cards when he got beat.”

Tyson Fury has now spoken for the first time about confirmation of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

It was confirmed last month that the WBC heavyweight world champion will meet the WBA, IBF & WBO heavyweight world champion in a undisputed showdown in the coming months in Saudi Arabia.

Fury must first get through hit fight with Francis Ngannou on October 28, also in Riyadh.

As a result, he is currently in training camp and has not given any interviews on the announcement.

Over the weekend though, Tyson attended his younger brother Tommy Fury’s win against KSI.

While at the fight, he was accosted by former foe Derek Chisora and gave a brief interview on his Instagram page – the first since it was confirmed that he will be facing Usyk

Fury told Chisora: “Listen I’m not really too bothered about Usyk at the moment because I’ve got big Francis to deal with.

“After that’s dealt with and I get out of there injury-free, in one piece, we’re on like Donkey Kong.

“And I’ll deal with this little guy, I’ll switch him off like a little piece of rain off my shoulder.

“But until that day, I always give every single person I ever fight 100 per cent.

I’ve been training, by the time the fight comes around, for 12 weeks.

“I usually only train for five or six weeks but I’ve been out since December.

“I’ve lost like 150lbs in four weeks just by dieting.”

Tyson Fury has made his first public comments about his historic undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk in December.

The fight was announced last month with no venue or date but all sides seemed to agree it has been signed. It will only take place if WBC king Fury gets through his fight with former MMA champion Francis Ngannou on October 28, which on paper he should given that Ngannou will be making his boxing debut.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, former opponent Derek Chisora asks if we will see the fight with WBA, WBO and IBF champion in December, which is reported to have a two-way rematch clause.]

Fury then suggested he would brush aside the smaller man with ease and outlined the weight loss he has been through in his most recent and longest camp

He may be the smaller man but it’s fair to say Fury will need to be fully focussed to deal with the challenge of Usyk as and when it happens.

After a long back-and-forth, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will finally face each other in the heavyweight class. It may happen in December or January. The fight will mark the historic unification of all titles in the heavyweight class. Earlier, negotiations for a fight between them had fallen through, nudging both of them to seek other fights.

While the Ukrainian fighter won against Daniel Dubois in August this year, Fury is set to face off against former UFC champ, Francis Ngannou on the 28th of October in an exhibition fight. Now with the Fury-Usyk fight finally back on track, folks have begun predicting the outcomes of the clash. One of them is the heavyweight fighter, Andy Ruiz Jr.

Andy Ruiz Jr. makes his pick among Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

Most folks believe that Tyson Fury has a clear advantage over Usyk, in regards to Fury’s height, weight, and long reach. Ruiz holds a similar opinion. The heavyweight fighter has picked Tyson Fury as his favorite for the early predictions. He said, “I think for me in my eyes, Tyson Fury could win. He has more skills, more ability. I don’t think Usyk knows how to pressure, throw those combinations. Get close to him, smother him, rabbit punches, all that. But if I fight him, I’m going to be able to do that. A lot of people don’t realize when you fight… when tall guys fight shorter guys, it’s hard. Especially when they move around, it’s hard to hit them, especially they leave themselves open.”

Carl Frampton has weighed in with his prediction for the – hopefully – upcoming undisputed heavyweight world title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, and has revealed Usyk’s recent showing against Daniel Dubois has swayed his thinking somewhat.

Despite the Ukrainian winning basically every round before stopping Dubois in the ninth, a controversial fifth round low blow ruling was the biggest talking point to emerge from the fight and a narrative has formed that Usyk is vulnerable to the body.

Frampton explained on Up Front with Simon Jordan that he is believer in that view, and as such now sees Fury as a “strong favourite.”

After months of deliberation, contracts have finally been signed for Fury and Usyk to lock horns for all the marbles in Saudi Arabia, though there has been no confirmation of a date or venue as of yet.

The fight is expected to take place in either late December or early January, with confirmation likely coming after ‘The Gypsy King’s heavily polarising crossover bout with former UFC heavyweight world champion Francis Ngannou, which takes place in Riyadh on October 28th.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua remain two of the biggest names in the heavyweight division, with clear targets on their backs for any man looking to make a statement as the next big thing.

Fury remains undefeated in his campaign, a two-time heavyweight champion who is just one fight away from challenging to become the first undisputed titlist in the division since Lennox Lewis.

That was always a goal of Joshua’s, who now has three losses to his name and is currently out of the title picture.

What both men have in common other than their nationality and superstardom is that fans want to see them fight more often and against genuine threats.

One man who could be considered as such is undefeated wrecking ball, Arslanbek Makhmudov.

The 17-0 heavyweight has ended all but one of his contests by stoppage, and an impressive 13 inside the first two rounds. He recently told Sporting Icons that he wanted the Brits on a record that is so far lacking big names.

Makhmudov will be fighting along side Fury next, albeit much further down the card.

Before the WBC Champion takes on Francis Ngannou in his crossover bout on October 28, the Russian will sharpen his tools against 19-2 Agron Smakici.

The Croatian southpaw has 18 knockouts from 20 wins, but has lost each time he has stepped up to fringe level. Should Makhmudov come through as expected, fans would like to see him in with a more challenging opponent should he want to, at 34, actually fight these top names he mentions.

Andy Ruiz has weighed in with his prediction for the recently signed undisputed heavyweight world title clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Though no one is writing off Usyk’s chances in the fight, most see Fury as a clear favourite, mainly due to the height and weight advantage he will be afforded on the night.

And Ruiz admitted to Fight Hub TV that though he has little doubt Fury will win, it’s down to having more skill and ability, rather than him simply being a larger man.

He also unsurprisingly added that he believes he is the man to dethrone ‘The Gypsy King.

Ruiz had been linked to a fight with Fury earlier this year, though the Brit and his representatives claimed he priced himself out of the negotiation process.

A similar accusation was labelled at ‘The Destroyer’ from Deontay Wilder’s team, though he has refuted this and claimed it was Wilder who was wanting too much money.

As for Fury vs Usyk, it will take place in Saudi Arabia, though there is not expected to be a date announced until after the former’s novelty bout with MMA star Francis Ngannou later this month.

It will be the first undisputed heavyweight world title fight since Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield in 1999, and is a legacy defining occasion for both Fury and Usyk.
